Nice Review Kris. So good to hear about the infotainment system. Considering how it worked on the first ID3 this is like moving from Windows ME to Wndows 11 or from IOS to Windows Server
I don’t know what happened in that test in the UK and the one in Italy. In every other test the ID.7 is performing so much better. 🤔🤔 BTW, yes ID.Software 4.x is a big step forward and maybe what people were expecting from ID.Software 1.x. 🤷♂️ 2nd BTW, the newer software on the ID.7 tourer has an integration of Apple Maps into the HUD, don’t know if it also works with Google Maps on iOS. 🧐
In every other test? The ID.7 is only efficient, when tested by one man youtube channels. If you have a whole team that is testing several cars and tries to have the same conditions for every car, the ID.7 efficiency goes down considerably. Wonder why.....
Does Apple Maps EV routing works with ID.7? The car should allow the Maps app to get information about the battery percentage and then plan route accordingly to the chargers on the route.
The id7 tourer would be such a nice car and I could easily imagine getting one. The issue is that when it gets cold the app is not reliable (Tesla reliable) and then there are the 12V battery problems. Sorry VW you still need to improve before I buy one.
As you were using the app to start that charger, I saw the Plug & Charge logo on it. I'm surprised that the ID7 wasn't using that, it's a Volkswagen car on Volkswagen's own charging network. :(
Circle K charger in Grimstad can output 500kW!?! wow I thought the fastest puplic charger in the world was 400kW! Would like to see a Semi truck take advantage of that! 🧐
I was considering this car but I'm negatively surprised to see the actual range. Of course it's winter but I expected at least 400km. Thanks for your insightful video though!
This is an embarrassingly inadequate effort. This is considered the most premium EV from Volkswagen, and yet that interior is disgustingly outdated. The infotainment system is primitive, as are the driver assistance and other smart features. It's unforgivable that this isn't riding on an 800-volt architecture. Chinese EVs that cost 40% less already have 800V underpinnings as standard. Are the Germans even trying? Do they even want to be in the business of making cars?
That’s your opinion. With this 4.0 update the ID cars are better then most other. Better travel ass, better route planning and so on. We don’t need 800v
It would seem that the 800v architecture is being saved for the 'premium' brands like Audi and Porsche. Bad news for VW owners but great news for the new Audi A6 e-tron....
Volkswagen isn't a premium brand, so not sure why you would expect a premium interior. That being said it is as nice as any other interior at this price point from other manufacturers. That fact you are calling this infotainment system primitive shows you don't know anything about this infotainment systems or any others. Because this infotainment system is one of the best in any EV atm. It is miles better than anything from China or Korea and is better than any Tesla. What Chinese EV this sized, with this range costs less than 40k Euro as you claim? Please tell us, because that sounds like dog shit. 800V is only good if the battery is up to par to handle the speeds they can achieve. 800v at this price point is full of compromises. There is a reason Hyundai/Kia have dialed back the charging speed in the EV9 compared to Ioniq 5/6/EV6.
Well, "the primitive infotainment" at least shows proper trip meters with distance and consumption, which is not always the case with 40% less bla bla cars
Good Looking car 😉
🤣🤣🤣
Very good looking car for people with exquisite taste!
@@KrisRifa13:30 Got rid of the aero wheels? 🤔
Thx for the video and congrats to VW for making such a great product !!!!

Love this car
I tested it, interested to buy it but have doubt, how is it on snow? Because of propulsion
Hi what is the name of the app for charging and does it work in north America thanks great video

You have to have a user account and sign in with VW apps in the car.
Can the app do plug n charge? 🤔
You need to enable Plug & Charge via Volkswagen's app. Should work also on an ID.3.
Nice car - this one I would prefer over a Tesla :D
0:25 I don’t think you call this a sedan, it’s more a liftback
NAF even got 26 min 10-80 %?

400km with 77kWh is only 19.2kWh/100km. Very difficult to get in this kind of conditions.
Our Model Y Long Range only gets about 300 km at highway speeds (125 km/h) in winter. This VW is totally at par.
What china car cost 40% less and use 800V charging?
Please tell us what Chinese EV similar sized with similar range that cost less than 40k Euro in Europe? 😅 can’t wait to hear about it!
Thank you for a good test. Is this the same battery as for the Enyaq RS 2024? 😃
yes it is :)
@@KrisRifa oh thats awesome, thanks
Please start including mph, etc. Thanks from the states😉👍
Divide by 1.61, it's just as easy as dividing by 5280. :)
Love the car,hate the dashboard.

Didn't VW buy into the xpeng G9? But it is not cheaper.
