From someone who has built stock cars in a actual race shop, you nailed ever detail perfectly! Even down to the crush panels, hoses, wiring, and interior details.
That's insane like literally this is the most true to scale accurate model of a cup car from that era I have ever seen. He didn't miss a single part on it if it was in 1-1 scale you couldn't tell the difference I build and drive latemodels have been my whole life and he literally built a replica 1/24 scale cup car to the exact details it's insane and all the scratch built stuff is so accurate wow man wow and the wires for gauges and the ignition tray I call it with the two boxes and coil and fire bottle wow just WOW. You missed one small thing and thats starting it up lmao. No nascar die cast collector in the world has a car this detailed or display only way to get one is build it your self that is beautiful and I can't imagine what your cases and display room looks like. My finished builds are a total of 4 in the last year I spent building models. I got one I been working on for 6 months and it's detailed and now I'm gonna take longer on it cause I wanna build it like you did this amount of detail but I know I will get like break lines and radiator lines and then say screw it to finish the model lol
Thank you for the VERY kind words brother!! I love scratch building and detailing stock cars. Next up is another Lumina. Research is done. Same detail this time in 1/32 scale.
@@MarkBatsonHobbydude007 dang man instead of getting bigger in scale your getting smaller in scale I figured you would go bigger not smaller that way you can get really detailed and more realistic lol but can't wait to see how small you can go though cuse going smaller is way more impressive
Hi Mark, Greetings from down under! This build is absolutely fantastic! You are blessed with a great talent Sir🙌 I'm new to your channel and am loving the content. Want to thank you as this build has inspired me to get back into Nascar model building after so many many years! Cheers 👍 And God bless!!
wow. what an amazing level of detail. hats off to you. i just came from watching RB ScaleModels build on the city Chevrolet. you guys do an amazing job. You have taken it to a whole new level tho. I am just amazed. This movie ment so much to me as a kid and still to this day watching the movie or seeing this finished model still gives me goosebumps. I wish i had your talents to build a model as amazing as yours. Thank You for sharing this video with us all :D
Many thanks for the kind words my friend!! I have very fond memories of the movie as well. For some reason I always liked that Superflo car. (odd colors for a stock car I guess) Glad you liked it!! Thanks for watching!!
Another awesome build Mark. I would love to see you build the Poteet & Main "SPEED DEMON" those guy guys are like you, They are on a whole different level when it comes to detail. Just a thought....
you have done an incredible job one building this model , but you should do a video on all of the techniques how you achieved some of this detailing such as the headers ? The exhaust and all the little secrets it would be nice to know how you did most of this in a detailed video step-by-step just something to think about
I got the 000-120 threaded rod from “small parts.com”. I don’t think they are around now. You can still find it online but it is pricey! Several guys are using guitar string. I’m going to be looking at that myself. As for drilling out the wheels. I picked up an arrowhead aluminum template a number of years ago. Shapeways 3-D printing makes some awesome pre-drilled 1/24 scale nascar wheels from that era. Have an awesome week!!
Crazy, I have that same Tide car and was thinking of converting it into Coles Superflo. Where did you get the underbody and and all that? Looks like the only thing you used from the kit was the main body.
Thank you my friend!! Yes, the kit body was used as well as the kit chassis with a lot of modifications and scratch built goodies. Have fun with your build! Appreciate ya watching!!
So freaking real looking! Outstanding detail work sir! Just curious, I've watched a couple of your videos, about how long does it take you to complete a build?
Man what a heck of a piece man wonderful job would u consider on making a car for someone. My dad raced and I was trying to find someone to build a model car just like his car if ur interested plz let me know thank you and good job man
Big thanks for the kind words Eddie!! My wife and I own a business that keeps us busy. Right now I am not doing any outside builds. Just trying to relax and keep up with my builds at the moment. LOL. Thanks again for watching bro!!
excellent build Mark. Detail work is awesome. Do you scratch build a lot of the detail parts or are they from a kit? Asking as this could be a future build and i like the way the details parts make the car look very real.
@@MarkBatsonHobbydude007 You are most welcome! Well deserved recognition in my humble opinion. Not often do we see all aspects presented in a public way. Skill, Dedication, Accuracy, Attention Detail, Creativity, I could go on but the idea is that it’s rare to find them all in one place. Well done Sir, and I’m sure I speak for most here when I say that we look forward to seeing where you have been spending your time lately. Do you have anything in the world currently? Or a project in mind but have not cleaned the table for yet?
@@Rick_Dunaway Thanks again for the kind words Rick!! I will soon be starting another Lumina (#3) I hope to detail like this one. ..........only in 1/32 scale.

That's incredible! Awesome work man! Now go out and hit the pace car!

One of the best builds I've seen. Amazing job! And here I just came to get the paint numbers! LOL
Thank you Lee! LOL! Glad to help!
(About to start another Lumina)
I remember seeing this build in S.A.E. Long before I met you & thinking how insane this was. What gets me are the tiny wheel studs.
Thanks buddy!! I appreciate the kind words! The wheel studs are 000-120 stainless threaded rod. (terrible to work with!) LOL
This is seriously the most insane build, I've ever seen. You're on another planet! Well done.
Many thanks Tim!! It was a fun build!
Thanks for watching!!
Absolutely incredible.
Thank you Mike!!
Mark I've worked on real racecars for almost 40 years and the details in that car really make you wonder if it's a model or real...
Incredible job.
Many thanks brother!! Been around a few myself. LOL! Have an awesome weekend!!
Wow, very nice. Marvelous detail. Great work! ♥️🇺🇸👍
Thank you so much 😀

Well, someone had a lot of research to make this?
I absolutely love it.
So I subscribed! 😊

And to think it all came about because of a photo-etch restrictor plate. Great job ol' buddy.
Yep! Thanks buddy!
Your detail is incredible! Beautiful build!
I love the small touches to like the sunglasses. Do you make your own anodized fittings?
Thank you my friend!! The sunglasses are from “detail master”. The a/n fittings are from “pro-tech” and “detail master”.

Thank you Randy! Sorry, I really don't have time for custom builds.

Thank you Raymond!! The shocks are scratch built items from K&S aluminum tubing. All of the tanks are from Detail Master. Thanks for watching!
Didn’t I see this car in fine scale auto a number of years ago??
Yes sir Jesse. About 14 years ago. Had to do something with all these build pix. LOL! Thanks for watching!
Mark, is the Model Car World paint ready to spray or do you have to thin it?
The enamels need to be thinned. The lacquers are pre-thinned and ready to airbrush. I use mostly the lacquers myself.
One of the articles I cut out of Scale Auto for future motivation. What disc brakes did you use? Was it a kit from MCG or somewhere.
Many thanks bro! As I recall, the brake disc set was from ""Arrowhead Aluminum".
