I'm not sure about the new TM6, but my wife and I only bought the TM5 about 3 years ago and just the other day the shaft that spins the blade completely sheared off when using the machine to create a simple smoothie. I called up the customer service and our consultant to get a replacement blade and they both said they wouldn't replace the blade because it was out of warranty and that the blade is an ACCESSORY. I'm pretty sure the definition of ACCESSORY is as follows (taken from a dictionary): "a thing which can be added to something else in order to make it more useful, versatile, or attractive." If I am not mistaken, the blade is the core function of the thermomix and without it, the machine is completely useless. That is by definition not an accessory. And if you are expected to pay over 100 dollars for a new blade every couple years because it breaks, then why would anyone pay for the massive over 2000 dollars investment in the first place? People pay that kind of money to get a good quality product. The blade completely shearing off means my machine is absolutely useless now. It is a massive paper weight. That doesn't sound like a good quality product. Most good quality products also have substantial warranties. Why does Thermomix not have a warranty for the integral parts of their machines for the entire life of the machine? Good quality products also have great customer service. That's also something else I felt Thermomix was lacking when trying to get this problem sorted so my wife and I could resume using the thermomix. The customer service rep that called me told me that THE BLADE IS DESIGNED TO BREAK BEFORE THE MOTOR so that you don't have to replace the expensive motor. That is fine and all, but I was just making a smoothie when this happened. It's not like I was trying to grind a brick into dust. I am a structural engineer and while you definitely take into account ways a structure can fail, you don't say that you have designed the structure to fail under normal every day loading conditions so that you can replace it for cheaper!! Sure maybe work needs to be done on the building, but a broken thermomix blade is the equivalent of my whole structure becoming unserviceable. The consultant that sold us the Thermomix definitely did not tell us that the blade was designed to break before the motor. If I new this, we definitely would not have bought one. How about you make this right and send us a replacement blade and take responsibility for the product you are selling?
Thanks so much Sophia, I use to sell the TM5 and I just love it and I think I am going to love the TM6 too. I will hold out for at least 6 months once it hits Australia - hopefully by then all the bugs will have been sorted out and the software updates (with the frying) will have been made. Can't wait to watch your next lot of reviews. Thanks for all you do!
Thank you very much for the video of TM 6. I was planning to get my 2nd TM 5 but now, I will wait for TM6. It looks great esp with WiFi n bigger screen n extra new features . I m really looking forward to TM6.
Just a few comments: Motor, performance, turbo, kneading, the same as in TM5. No difference. Pureing, fermenting, slow cooking, pre-cleaning and sous vide are only software updates as they are simply combinations or programs of time, temperature and knife rotation. The same features could have been easily upgraded to the TM5. The same way they could program 13 minutes 98 degrees and call it a rice function or they program 15 minutes, 100 degrees with pureing at the end and call it a soup mode (which they will probably do soon). Those functions are just marketing gags for people that don´t understand what cooking is. They are giving fancy names to what really is temperature and time. That leaves us with the only real improvements: More accurate scale, bigger display and higher temperature, allowing for sauteing and making a caramel. But: For sauteing the temperature is still too low and the surface area too small. One must be foolish to saute in a Thermomix and the results must be disappointing. Hence the only real improvement is making a caramel. The rest is either not properly implemented (sauteing) or just software gadgets. Don´t get me wrong, Thermomix is a great tool for moist heat cooking methods and doughs, but the TM6 is really just a TM 5.2 with a few added marketing gags.
How about the 160º C frying mode? I thought TM5 can't physically get that hot? Yes, I realize that there is no "mode", as users are too dumb to be trusted with such "extreme" temperatures on their own, according to Thermomix support.vorwerk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003481759-Can-I-use-the-highest-temperature-for-manual-cooking- However, that was the one feature that sold me on TM6 (well, that, and my first choice, Kenwood's Cooking Chef KCC9060S , which lets users fry at 180º C is not available in the USA).

However I was very lucky and was given the option of the new TM6, or extra goodies to go with the old TM5. I chose the new TM6 so now I wait patiently. @@sophiapeace
My tm5 is so glitchy. I’ve had to return 3 recipe chips and had to have the machine serviced as well. I can’t use it anymore. Hate to think how glitchy the bigger screen will make it
Due to the release of the tm6 there are some great deals on the tm5. Don’t think it’s worth it for the built in cook key, bigger screen and slow cook function.
Fantastic thanks Sophia, have shared this on our Thermo Channel Islands Facebook page - looking forward to your next reviews of all the various new modes 🤗🙏
Would I be able to brew beer with the fermentation function, ye think? We bought one and can't wait to have it delivered this week. Cheers Sophia, lovely channel! Best
Hi As you mentioned that you bought it in Germany. I have the same plan as well to buy it from Germany to use in Denmark. will there be any issues in relation to the language? can the cookidoo also be converted to english or danish ? regards Ashis
Absolutely no issue changing language. The only thing to remember is that the new recipes on cookidoo that use the new functions are only accessible when the thermomix is set to German... for now.
Does it still work on electricity without WiFi. Does it Juice. Besides baking and cooking. Also does it retain added information customized for the user. I don’t think everyone bakes bread at home these days.
I am a new owner of a TM6 and basically like the machine.I did order the cookbooks for it since internet and Wi-Fi is unreliable-and sometimes a pain to use.I do like seeing how you access the other screens so you can use functions manually.I think the plug in recipe chips should be able to be used with the TM6 in case of internet problems.Be nice if you could use the device either way. There is the remnants of the chip socket on the side of my unit.Kinda like the chip socket on the side of my Blendtec Pro blender.I would like to see the arms to be manually opened in case of power failure. Can happen in my area during the storm season-summer.The lid arms are kinda neat, though.Just should have a way to open them in an "emergency".Otherwise the Thermox is a fine machine-funny-one time called it a Vor-Mix!-sort like after Vitamix-I am a blender fan and have Vitamix, too!
I have a Tokit that works completely offline, except for downloading new recipes or updates. Even you can adjust to manual mode,it unaffected by Wi-Fi.
Just got mine today! So a big THANKS for this review, especially about the frying or meat browning/caramelising feature requiring a recipe. Subscriber now :) look forward to seeing more!
Tks Sophia for your review. I would like to ask u 2 questions: 1) I am not tech savvy person , so will TM6 be too complicating for me compare to TM5. I heard the instructor says TM6 is more troublesome to operate. Is it true? 2) I wonder if pandan chiffon cake turn out as good as the original recipe whereby you separate the egg whites from the egg yolks? Can u make a demo? Tks
Sophia ... this is such a great review ... thank you so much for taking the time to do this for all of us ... like you I love my Thermomix and would be lost without it in the kitchen. Can you please confirm if the lid now unlocks quicker? I noticed at the end of the video that it seemed to open quicker ... is that right? Many thanks xo Gina
I wanted your opinion. Should I wait for the release of TM6? I have a representative coming today to demo the TM5. I can't wait to watch your videos you did a great job comparing them.
Hi Sophia!!! Based in Muscat, Oman, wd like to ask you , do you ship Thermomix Slider as am planning to to get TM6 and checked from Dubai branch but they neither have the slider nor the bread cutter knife, Thermomix bread tin , silicon mat or thermomix cover. Please guide as to how to get those n shipped. Many Thanks.
Just a observation but it would have been a good idea to have the TM6 on your right hand side, so your hand wouldn’t cover the display when Operating the TM6 But regardless of that great vid 👍
Thanks Sophie for an excellent, succinct yet thorough review. One question though: does the TM6 have the same temperature increments of 5 degrees over it’s entire range? Or is it finer?
Thank you so much. I just found out about this appliance and am looking into purchasing one. I’m interested in the caramel and brittle functions with candy making as well as full meals and the like. Any cook books needed or will this one be all inclusive with the WiFi capability? I saw on their site a basic cookbook and chip. Is that chip for previous models or will it work with this one? Also the Key. Is that not needed for this one? Thanks again for this review. You’re awesome!!!
You won't need Cook books, unless you also like browsing through hard copy, as you have access to a heap of recipes via wifi / Cookidoo platform. The Key and Chip are for the previous model. This one does come with a hard copy Basic Cook Book with heaps of useful information in it. You will love the TM6 - it is an awesome machine! My customers are all very happy so far!
Can you use the Thermomix without WiFi? That is to say does the Thermomix have built-in memory so you can store your favourite recipes if you go camping? Also looking forward to you testing the kettle function! PS I'm thrilled about is that the temperature can be set to exact degree. That's a huge improvement!

Hello I am from Greece and i have the TM31 for 9 years and work great that TM6 its so much expensive here in Greece (for the Greek salary) and it doesnt comming in Greece yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TM5 is far better. The TM6 still has the same scales (feet) that constantly fail and need expensive servicing. ‘Greater accuracy’ who cares? were not making crystal meth here! One can only assume “greater accuracy” = greater breakdowns. TM6 has a new screen, whoopee it’s not a tv! The TM6 has integrated wifi which requires not only an internet connection to use but also requires paying an annual subscription just to use the thing. So big initial purchase price and NOW a new feature, you have to pay an annual subscription. Oh but wait it can also boil water now! Double wow!! I’ve always wanted a kitchen appliance that could boil water.. No thanks I’ll stick with my TM5, in fact I’d say the TM5’s have just gone up in value. Looking forward to genuine reviews of the TM5 vs TM6, the good and bad points.
For a $2,000+ AUD item it still sounds loud and like a pile of sh!t, I expect whisper quiet motor when spinning etc! they still haven’t got it right! 😂 poor design flaw oh just like another German thing - BMW’s
I still use the VM 2200 from 1978, given to me by my mum, fewer gadgets but works perfectly. But I also have a TM31 for making Mayonnaise ;-).

Un mesaj la thermomix romania si te vor ajuta ei
Why don’t you keep your hand off the screen while showing what to do.... when you put your hand over the screen so we cannot see what it is?
I think it senses when it is clean...
I would like to see you make vegan recipes.
Great idea!
Sophia , you missed Canada. 🇨🇦
Still prefer my TM31
Trudniej 2😍
William hahahahah crystal meth
Somebody is jealous that they have the TM5 and not the TM6 lol
Umm your hand was in the way lmao how could we see?
You guys, ...
This video could have been 3 minutes long
This just feels like a bit of a cult product..
I turned off when I heard WIFI! Had enough off that crap!!
😂😂😂
Poor quality video with the screen being hidden by a hand whilst demonstrating a function on the TM^ screen
For a $2,000+ AUD item it still sounds loud and like a pile of sh!t, I expect whisper quiet motor when spinning etc! they still haven’t got it right! 😂 poor design flaw oh just like another German thing - BMW’s
