Oh wow! This is the very first time that I have seen THE PERFECT review. I usually go through a lot of videos to make sure I get a complete review of a gadget but with you, I did not need it! You explained everything very clearly and I love it! thank you xx
You see all these positive reviews, and I do think it's a great kitchen device, (even though many people - not here maybe - got their unit for free in order to do the review.) This is a great seemingly unbiased review. My bottom line opinion is that its cost/benefit ratio is highly variable depending on each individual's personal situation. This includes aspects such as cooking skills/enjoyment, available time, financial, and depth/breadth of cuisine interest. For me, the 1-2 hours I spend every night cooking dinner after doing complex tasks in front of two computer monitors all day is my mental Yoga because I love to cook, from scratch, and most of the time, without a recipe. I love the feel of the knife in my hand. I love the challenge of having 2-3 things cooking on the stovetop at once. Now if I were someone that had other interests I wanted to free up time for and didn't enjoy cooking as a hobby, and a $1,500 USD counter-top high-tech kitchen device is within my budget, this could be a Godsend. Overall though I tend to think in our modern world we all have a bias towards liking new technology and exaggerating, at least a little, its actual life benefit.
I wanted to create some extra footage for you on the day for this video to demonstrate my results but unfortunately the Thermomix TM6 decided to completely bug out on the filming day and I had to do a full reset which took quite a while! A bit of a shame... but please check out my blog post which contains more detail and progress images: sophiaskitchen.blog/thermomixtips/tm6-review-thermomix-vorwerk/
Very good and honest review. As a avid cook, who likes to try everything, I think I'll hold off buying the TM6 for now. The only thing that entices me to buy it is to make some recipes that doesn't requires me to stand there and stir for hours...
Could you use the "blade cover" to keep the chunky pieces of the slow cook away from the blades? The blades would still spin and circulate the fluid, while the large pieces would remain intact and be heated/cooked?
As far as I know, the latest automatic cookers have a "blade cover" that prevents shredding. My new Tokit Omni Cook has the function and when I am simmering, the food does not get chopped up.
Thanks for such a wonderful in-depth review Sophia. I have decided that apart from the bigger screen, there really is nothing about this machine that excites me. I think I will just go ahead and upgrade my TM31 to the TM5 as it will do all I need and want to do. :)
Wow I have never seen a review of cooking equipment as thorough and thought through as this one! I am still on the fence because of the price but you made it so easy to weigh pros and cons! I really appreciate how you express a real useful opinion beyond the basic review (such as the blades running during slow cooking which means you can’t have chunks of meat). Amazing job!
I now have to eat my words - I have removed my previous comment. I watched your video from start to finish and it was a great help and I’m very grateful - you’ve helped me make my final decision on whether to keep my TM6 or return it and I am returning it for, essentially, all the negative points you highlight because I completely agree with them. Thank you so much
Great review. I've been trying to find out how tall the TM6 is with the veroma kit on top (max height with all acessories) but can't seem to find that info anywhere?
I'm not sure about the new TM6, but my wife and I only bought the TM5 about 3 years ago and just the other day the shaft that spins the blade completely sheared off when using the machine to create a simple smoothie. I called up the customer service and our consultant to get a replacement blade and they both said they wouldn't replace the blade because it was out of warranty and that the blade is an ACCESSORY. I'm pretty sure the definition of ACCESSORY is as follows (taken from a dictionary): "a thing which can be added to something else in order to make it more useful, versatile, or attractive." If I am not mistaken, the blade is the core function of the thermomix and without it, the machine is completely useless. That is by definition not an accessory. And if you are expected to pay over 100 dollars for a new blade every couple years because it breaks, then why would anyone pay for the massive over 2000 dollars investment in the first place? People pay that kind of money to get a good quality product. The blade completely shearing off means my machine is absolutely useless now. It is a massive paper weight. That doesn't sound like a good quality product. Most good quality products also have substantial warranties. Why does Thermomix not have a warranty for the integral parts of their machines for the entire life of the machine? Good quality products also have great customer service. That's also something else I felt Thermomix was lacking when trying to get this problem sorted so my wife and I could resume using the thermomix. The customer service rep that called me told me that THE BLADE IS DESIGNED TO BREAK BEFORE THE MOTOR so that you don't have to replace the expensive motor. That is fine and all, but I was just making a smoothie when this happened. It's not like I was trying to grind a brick into dust. I am a structural engineer and while you definitely take into account ways a structure can fail, you don't say that you have designed the structure to fail under normal every day loading conditions so that you can replace it for cheaper!! Sure maybe work needs to be done on the building, but a broken thermomix blade is the equivalent of my whole structure becoming unserviceable. The consultant that sold us the Thermomix definitely did not tell us that the blade was designed to break before the motor. If I new this, we definitely would not have bought one. How about you make this right and send us a replacement blade and take responsibility for the product you are selling?
If you are Australian you have rights under the Australian consumer law - goods must be of reasonable quality and last for a reasonable time. Tell them this- they will try to say about their warranty but just tell them you have a statutory warranty that is in Legislation. They will replace it because by law they must. If they still refuse tell them you will lodge a claim in a tribunal (qcat for Queensland) and enforce the order in the Magistrate’s court and you will make sure to notify news and facebook about your claim. They will replace for free.
I can’t believe I had to buy new tyres for my new car after 12 months! Hardly an accessory, as you cannot drive a car without tyres can you? And I paid $65,000 for it. Unbelievable 🧐
The blades are designed to "strip" as a protection against burning the motor out, however they can do what yours did simply because they have reached the end of their life. I believe it is suggested that the blades be replaced every three years anyway, regardless of whether they are still functioning well.
Hi Sophia, thanks you for the review. I am tempted with the TM6 but I am still considering if it’s worth it or not. I really love my TM. 5. I like to make up my own recipes so I wonder if you can freelance your own recipes? Big decisions. It’s annoying though that you are tied into the cookidoo subscription.
Hello Sophia! Thank you for a very thorough review. This week I started thinking about buying it for the first time, I think it could really make the day-to-day easier in the kitchen.. But your review kept me thinking a lot on some of the downsides.. Why bother to spend more 700€ than a Moulinex Companion if the scales need so much repair? (So I've heard..) I really thought this would be very superior in quality, after making some research, but then you talk about the limitation of Cookidoo, and that just pisses me off.. It kind of reminds me of Apple's marketing strategy, you spend a lot on a product but then neet to spend even more to get all the features. Does anyone knows if we can upload recipes to the machine outside of Cookidoo? It seems we can't.. I would really like if you could make a video now, 1 year later, and tell us about your experience.. Have those issues been resolved with updates? Anyone outhere that has a TM6 and may help?
@SirScarecrow Thank you so much! I have been watching a lot of Thermomix videos and also realised that. It seems that the scales' sensors are really sensitive and people are not that very careful with them.. Also heard that some people clean it with products that are too abrasive, and that's not good.. It seems like a very good machine but for that price it shouldn't be so sensitive as well :p
Hi Rita. I am a Thermomix advisor, and some parts of this review needs updating. The issue about the cookidoo login has now being resolved and it works really well. Vorwerk is consistently updating recipes and improving the functions of the machine. They listen to its customers and the deliver. If you are in the UK, I could offer you a demo. My email address is cleverlyeasycook@yahoo.com. You won’t miss cooking with 3 or 4 pans and having to do all the washing up ;)
There is a problem with the marketing method of Thermomix, and the influence method of MLM indirectly causes the price to be too high. The limitations of Cookieidoo are also part of the marketing strategy. There are many TM alternatives on the market today, Tokit is one of them. I have learned that the brand has a reasonable operating profit and is very cost-effective.
Thanks for the video, so did they update the software to address the issues you pointed out? Specifically, the frying function being locked away and the fermentation mode too hot.
Hi Sophia - thanks for such a detailed and excellent overview. I would love to see you do a comparison of the TM6 with the Magimix Cook Expert. I have a TM5 and use it a lot, and I don't mind the babying so much, as I like the automated steps which helps my husband to use it (lol), but it drives me crazy that the bowl is so narrow at the base and I can't see properly into the bowl when mixing etc. The Cook Expert overcomes these issues with a glass lid and a much larger capacity, wide-based bowl. Having said that, I don't think it has integrated recipes which I think is disappointing for me. Are you thinking about doing such a comparison video? I'm so on the fence about which way to go here. I'd be happy to go with the TM6 but the capacity etc is an issue for me as I like to do a lot of batch cooking. Please let me know what you think? Happy for comments from others if you've done this comparison. PS I already have a 4200XL magimix chopper/food processer and I know that the new cook expert comes with one of those, but I bet that the bowls from my existing unit don't fit the cook expert (at least then I could've had two sets of bowls!) Any thoughts/comments??
Dear Margaret. For me it is the opposite problem. I have a Magimix which I really love because you’re not stuck to the Cookidoo mode. If you want easy recipes to follow you can download a iOS or Android app named cook expert. You can look by yourself on your dedicated App Store. But because of this my daughters 16 and 14 don’t use it as often as I would like them to. Instead they order delivery food which I would like them to get away from and learn how to cook for the future. That’s why’s I’m looking into the TM6 for the easy use in following an online recipe step by step.
CONFUSED you sounded like you hated this machine but loved the attachments not sure what to make of this at all. This video has turned me off buying one at all. More reviews and demo for me who never had a Thermomix at before. Thanks great review especially for those that are upgrading.
Hi Sophia, I own a TM6 since almost 1 year, and follow your TH-cam recipes on a regular basis. I was wondering : the white matt/platter on which you put your TM6 ... is it only used to move your TM6 slightly, or does it also minimize the noise which the TM6 makes when you have to mix some ingredients at speed 9 or 10 ? Or is there another kind of platter/matt which can be used to reduce the noise ? (PS : I live in Belgium)
Thank you for the honest review. I have a pretty big family (6 members) And I am pretty confident in the kitchen. I cook a lot... Should I get Thermomix or not? What's your advice?
It was very insightful.. just one point was incorrect.. the Splash guard lid from TM6 doesn’t work on TM5. I ordered it based on the review.. now trying to return is not fun.
This is a great review. I've never had any Thermomix model. I also don't like the idea of being bound by the Cookidoo recipes and I don't want to pay for the subscription every year. I wouldn't mind paying one year and then keeping that set of recipes and never updating them. I also think it's ridiculous for them to charge extra for the blade cover (for sous vide and slow cooking) when the unit costs $2100 already in Canada. It's not even the cost, it's the principle. I also don't think that it will sear meat before stews properly even though it can go up to a higher temperature now than previous models and I almost always do that when I'm making any sort of braised dish. And then the cost is just a bit too high to seem worth it. For me, it could replace a number of other appliances, but it wouldn't total up to $2100 worth.
@Terrey Yulianna Yes! I wound up buying a Tokit too. Great to hear it is working for you for your carmelizing. Tokit also made the mixing bowl wider at the bottom for better high temp cooking (like "stir fry" too). Having a good time with mine. Steamer set (added accessory) also has a great capacity because of the two levels inside. Enough for plenty of dim sum.
I think people are misleaded by all the additional functions.. Devices like the thermomix, magimix cook expert or kitchen aid cook processor are incredible at making emulsifications, sauces, pastes for curries but i would stay away for browning carbs. Also thermomix locks much functionality behind it's presets. Magimix and kitchen aid doesn't. I know they're trying to market these machines to novice cooks but i think going back to basics and just use a frying pan or sauteuse is a better way and more likely more tasteful way for cooking carbs. But as mentioned earlier: Sauces, pastes, veloutés or purees will help out anyone greatly in machines like these.
Sophia, for those free thinkers it may look idiot some of the "overdone" gadgets and programs, but trust me, I've seem people screw up this luxury item in the dumbest ways. And then complaining about the lack of safety mechanisms. So..I sort of understand why.. Thank you for the honest review! And awesome recipes ma'am!!
Great video and feedback! I am going to buy my first Thermomix, but as there is a good deal with TM5 I haven't decided if it really will be better to buy TM6 or TM5, will you recommend the TM6 over TM5? Thanks
Awesome Review! Thank you for pointing out the baby-sitting and mandatory cookidoo subscription to use certain modes. Cool machine with lots of potential but for now I stay with pan and pot... I do like the scale and precise water heating. But for that only the TM6 is overkill :D I will wait/see&listen what you point out and recommend. Thank you very much!
We have Thermomix TM6 but I have a hard time following the instructions cause I want to make a German bread but unfortunately all is in gramms and not in oz.. how can I change the measurements?
TM31 is the best, built like a tank, no fancy features that can complicate things, gets the job done just as good as TM5/6 and it much cheaper. A second hand one is 500 euro in Denmark and it will last you 20 years or more. When it comes to what really matters TM31 is best bang for your buck, TM5/6 is also a good investment but I just don’t see the value in paying 1000 euro exta for a display with some recipes or a 160 degree frying function instead of the usual varoma (120 degree Celsius). I’ve had my TM31 for 9 years now and works like the first day I bought it.
Thanks for your video, Its amazing and very informative. Just wondering about the Sous Vide mode, is the maximum time different between the two models?
An amazing machine to be sure, but as somebody who also loves to cook, I won’t be buying this. This would be great for people who are not confident cooks who need that hand holding or to expand their repertoire. I find the babying thing in quite a few of these new devices eg google home hub recipe functions that only let you use recipes from certain providers. It’s frustrating when the hardware is so capable! A lot of the issues could be remedied by a software function or a new accessory which just stirs rather than chops as well.
That’s not entirely true. I’m an advisor on this, please let me know if you have questions on this machine and I truly believe everyone should have one as it’s great!!
Keep in mind this was a year ago... updates come often. If you have questions let me know and I can do a demo for you. You can also check shop.thermomix.com/consultant/114603/
Thankyou for your video I have been excited to hear all about this model. Just wondering if you have done a video or blog if it is worth upgrading if you have a TM5. Thanks again.
Here's the thing...I can start my pressure pot from the garden and get notification on my cell when my one pot meal is ready. It adds convenience and if my pressure pot is going to blow it won't do so in my face. Kidding aside, smart appliances allow remote notification and control of the appliance. It's handy for some uses. The upgrades from TM5 are "good" but this could have given an extra reason to upgrade and secondly the TM6 already connects to my password encrypted home network, they could have took the extra step and have it connect to other devices on the network. As for risks, I have kids and drive to work everyday so I know there are risks everywhere.
This appears to be a machine designed to extract large amounts of money from people who have too much of it. A slow cooker, kettle, frying pan etc provides all you need with much less fuss, more flexibility and a lot less cash. I'm glad I saw this review.
Thank you for the very detailed review. holding off buying a TM5 (as TM6 has yet to be available in this part of the world) waiting for the launch of TM6, I am not sure now whether I'd like to have a TM6 now, I think I will still wait a while and maybe when there will be some nice perks to buy TM5 when TM6 reaches our shore. Thanks again ... I am also not keen on the cookidoo subscription. We'll see
Fermentation mode only works for yoghurt and not anything else because the temperature is too high. You took 2 and a half minutes to explain that. And why start with the fermentation function and not the one that’s first on the menu? I hate making bad comments but your videos are tiring to watch. You need to do some work on your content organisation and delivery. Keep it up.
If you don’t like making bad comments then don’t it’s not that hard. If you think that she’s doing sm wrong you could easily keep that to yourself, and if you really feel the need to leave a comment like this you could’ve at least put it in a nicer way. Keep it up.
Thank you for such an in-depth independent review. I was definitely thinking of upgrading from my T31, but as I like cooking my own recipes I think I shall go for theTM 5 instead as it is an attractive price now. I doubt many commercial chefs would be interested in the instructional recipes, the TM6 would lose a potentially lucrative market. Two models catering for two very different users would have been a better strategy.
Excellent video! Am actually planning to get one Thermomix (my first purchase!) Am not sure should I be waiting for TM6? Am looking forward to your next video if it's worth for an upgrade!! Hope you can post it soon hehe...
Have you called the company to ask if they will be making changes so these features can be used with your own recipes? I called ThermomixUS to inquire and because it is not released until June here they are not able to answer. @@sophiapeace
Thermomxi should come out with one, where the settings are set automatically. For example, add ingredient and hit next, - It should set up the speed and temp automatically. then it should say next ingredient. hit next for different setting automatically. for safety there can be an auto mode or manual mode
So essentially the new modes are a bit useless and don’t offer anything new. Slow cooking is still done better in a slow cooker. Now they’ve provided scales that are actually accurate and have provided a bigger screen. A TM5 secondhand it is then.
Well I just want to assure you that the Tm6 represents a huge technological jump as far as Tm5 is concerned. If you like, as I did, the one you have, you’ll feel in heaven with the Tm6, believe me!!!
I am soooo happy to watch your videos and this tm6 review. I definitely love to experiment and do my own thing. I used quite a few recipes but not a lot. I liked using it for my own recipes far more. I can easily afford to pay for cookidoo but not really needed in my opinion. The TH-cam videos give me ideas to try so thank you for your input.
It depends on the country... I’m not really sure as I’m not a thermomix advisor. You can ask your local one though and hey should be able to tell you ❤️
Thank you very much for doing such a good review of the Thermomix TM6. As a consequence of your honest and objective comments together with some other online reviews, I have now decided NOT to purchase the TM6. I attended two demonstrations locally and can see that it doesn't chop veg, but pulverises them. Additionally, fermenting is also an area of interest for me and you pointed out the TM6 doesn't do well. So, thanks very much, you helped save me from an expensive mistake. Paul
Hi all. I just discovered the Thermomix and it struck my curiosity. May I ask users what benefits one can gain from using an Instant Pot 6P (with the souse vide function) and a Ninja Blender with the food processor attachment? That's the combo I have right now. I steam my food either in the IP or over the stove. The IP also have a fermentation mode which is how I make my yogurt though I proof my dough in the oven set low or just at room temperature. Is it just the set recipes function that make this item shine? I'm moving to another country from 120V to 110v so I can't bring my IP and Blender with me. Was wondering whether the Thermomix will be a good option despite the higher costs. I also believe that the Ninja Blender doesn't mill as well as the Thermomix.
Hi Simon, the machine is superb. If you have some doubts speak to me, because some people have been misled. I’m an advisor on it, I can show you how you can use it to its full potential!
Great review, but I fell the TM5 is far better.. I especially dislike the new TM6 “feature” where they lock you in to paying an ongoing registration for access to recipes/to use their machine. They now have full control over your use of this appliance, why would anyone purchase a TM6? Have they done anything to make the scales more reliable? The most common fault with the TM5 is that the sensitive scales (feet) of these units are easily damaged and require expensive repairs. With greater accuracy in the TM6 models I can only assume this means they are even more sensitive and prone to failure. Accuracy down to 1 gram is no use to me unless it works for more than 1 year. These features aren’t enough to move people on from their TM5’s.
Sophia thanks for your video it help me understand more about TM6. I got my Thermomix Tm6 today sound very happy but bad news is i going to return to HQ tomorrow cause the box damage quite badly due to delivery handling issue. I didn't open it cause afraid inside might damage too. Thanks for HQ office fast response after i sent them the damage part of the pic and they agree to replace me new unit.
Thank you so much for the candid and thorough review, Sophia!! I got so excited when I first heard about the TM6 that I was considering *finally* replacing my trusty TM31, but now I'm thinking of keeping it. I love, love, love the extra precision of the TM6, especially the scales -- as I'm sure you remember, the TM31 goes in 5g increments up to 100g, then switches to 10g increments -- and the extra temperature control is nice, too. And I'd love to make honeycomb, yum. But I'm really fond of my TM31 with all its buttons and simple display; it has all the bells and whistles I really need, so I'm thinking of just upgrading it with as many compatible TM6 accessories as I can. Speaking of which, do you happen to know whether the TM6 MC fits the TM31? If yes, I will buy it as soon as it's available. I'm also going to pick up the TM6 spatula. (I already have the TM5 butterfly, which whips so much better than the original.)
So glad I could help. I’m so sorry but I don’t know whether the TM6 mc fits the tm31 off the top of my head. I have a feeling the opening on the tm31 is smaller but i would have to measure it.
@@sophiapeace If you could measure the opening on the TM6, that would be most helpful! Then I would just have to measure my TM31 to see if it's big enough. I guess the other question I have is whether the new MC threads into the TM6 lid, in which case it wouldn't work with the TM31 even the openings are the same size.
Thank you so much for your review!! I’m excited to get my very first thermomix but just before getting the TM5 they announced the TM6! So I’m quite interested to see the difference! Can’t wait to see your next video to see which one you prefer! In Australia they are offering a great deal with the Tm5 so making the decision very hard! So are you saying that the TM6 doesn’t work manually without wifi or a downloaded recipes? Loving you videos, thank you
So glad you like it! The TM6 does definitely work without WiFi or downloaded recipes, but you can’t use the 2 new functions on it (frying and caramelisation).
Thanks for the review and I totally agree with you that I dislike being baby too. I found most of the recipes provided were not quite up to my expectation. I prefer to create something on my own as taste is a pretty individual thing
Me again - it'll be interesting to see if they include any recipes on cookidoo which use the fermentation mode and whether it is, like you say, just yoghurt!
Sorry! Me! Again! Perhaps in the future Sophia they could look into a way that you choose your 'cooking experience' when you register for the first time, maybe in settings. For instance, I would be choosing novice, whereas you'd be choosing Professional and thus the experience be altered accordingly, suiting each parties needs.
Withholding functionality is a real turn-off. Not that I care about those functions, but it's the principal and not a good look. That said, this is one cool machine.... and the design is stunning. Thank you so much for your comprehensive review. Great content!
What would u recommend to someone who.is an absolute virgin to this machine and is just following some blogs and experts like you to come to a decision to make a huge investment. As all r upgrading to TM6 apparently there a good deals ( mostly add ons like extra bowl and and a cookie key if I've understood correctly) on pre-used TM5. Which would be a wise investment? M a terrible cook so will surely need cookie do assistance bt can always follow great recipes from experts like u. Also, besides cooking, and steaming simultaneously how is this different than and any good quality blender- grinder which come at almost 10% of the cost of TM.
Thank you for this. It’s very in depth. I think I’ll stick with my TM5 because I use my own recipes and have separate scales if I’m desperate. I think I prefer the simplicity. I hope they keep selling the TM5.
Overall though I tend to think in our modern world we all have a bias towards liking new technology and exaggerating, at least a little, its actual life benefit.
Agree!
Great kitchen helper...
Jeff... this has helped me make my decision. Thanks!
Hi, is this on the blog yet? I can't see it. Thanks
Still working on it :) coming this week!
It’s up on the blog now sophiaskitchen.blog/thermomixtips/tm6-review-thermomix-vorwerk/
These bugs & software glitches are a complete turn off
Has the new update changed the flexibility of choosing what to do when (e.g. just frying something without a recipe)?
Very good and honest review. As a avid cook, who likes to try everything, I think I'll hold off buying the TM6 for now. The only thing that entices me to buy it is to make some recipes that doesn't requires me to stand there and stir for hours...
I think this is a super-review. It is so honest. Usually, most reviews just sell me things. I am pleasantly surprised.
Glad I could help ;)
Wow I have never seen a review of cooking equipment as thorough and thought through as this one! I am still on the fence because of the price but you made it so easy to weigh pros and cons! I really appreciate how you express a real useful opinion beyond the basic review (such as the blades running during slow cooking which means you can’t have chunks of meat). Amazing job!
This makes me so happy! Thank you for the feedback!
You make a good case for proofing dough--I personally prefer to do it in the fridge overnight. The rise is much slower and flavors develop better.
I'm pretty sure the definition of ACCESSORY is as follows (taken from a dictionary):
"a thing which can be added to something else in order to make it more useful, versatile, or attractive."
If I am not mistaken, the blade is the core function of the thermomix and without it, the machine is completely useless.
Thanks. I was almost tempted to buy it but your story has put me off. Simon.
Just to add that I will probably schedule a Demo to satisfy my doubts (I think its only virtual now due to covid..) but all advice here is helpfull!
I have learned that the brand has a reasonable operating profit and is very cost-effective.
can i use it without Cookido subscription? (after 6 months)
That’s why’s I’m looking into the TM6 for the easy use in following an online recipe step by step.
thank you for all this info I'm getting my thermomix in about 2-3 weeks cant't wait this has helped me a lot
Sophia, are you still using your TM5? I have the TM6 also but still prefer the TM5. Any comments?
CONFUSED you sounded like you hated this machine but loved the attachments not sure what to make of this at all. This video has turned me off buying one at all. More reviews and demo for me who never had a Thermomix at before. Thanks great review especially for those that are upgrading.
is there compulsory ongoing costs after the initial purchase? e.g ongoing cookidoo membership?
Yes, a yearly subscription to Cookidoo
@@LB-fg2ph thanks
Hi Sophia, I own a TM6 since almost 1 year, and follow your TH-cam recipes on a regular basis. I was wondering : the white matt/platter on which you put your TM6 ... is it only used to move your TM6 slightly, or does it also minimize the noise which the TM6 makes when you have to mix some ingredients at speed 9 or 10 ? Or is there another kind of platter/matt which can be used to reduce the noise ? (PS : I live in Belgium)
There is now a blade cover coming soon that will prevent the meat from shredding during slow cooking.
Thanks so much. Was considering purchasing but coming from a TM31 now unsure as also like freedom and not being locked in!
me too, if i buy the rest of my cooking pots will be in cold storage
TM31?
What scrubby thing were you talking about to clean after you made the chai Late ????
For slow cooking I plan to buy the blade cover so that I can still do stews x.
So glad to have sn honest review. Saved my money.
The blade cover is now available for slow cooking, prevents shredding of ingredients
Great analysis, especially the fermentation mode issues. SUPERB!
Thanks
What happened so far? is it good?
Awesome Review!
Thank you for pointing out the baby-sitting and mandatory cookidoo subscription to use certain modes.
Cool machine with lots of potential but for now I stay with pan and pot...
I do like the scale and precise water heating. But for that only the TM6 is overkill :D
I will wait/see&listen what you point out and recommend.
That's great that yours still works, the scale stopped working on mine and also the temperature function often doesn't work :/
Thanks for your video, Its amazing and very informative. Just wondering about the Sous Vide mode, is the maximum time different between the two models?
Yes you can go for up to 12 hrs now on sous vide mode.
Do you find stuff like smoothie dribbles down and will get stuck between the button and the screen? Is it hard to clean between them.
Agree with u dude..
So the modes you mention don't work if you're not connected to the internet / signed into cookidoo?
I wonder if all countries allow such behaviour
That’s not entirely true. I’m an advisor on this, please let me know if you have questions on this machine and I truly believe everyone should have one as it’s great!!
In a promotional video it says it works no matter what smartphone you have ios, Andriod etc. What can the phone app do?
Wow this was going to be my first TM but I have been completely turned off. Seems like there are more frustrations than benefits.
Coming soon
I was going to buy it but after seeing your video I definitely won’t! Thanks for your honesty!
No control/notification via phone app? In 2019 it is missed opportunity...
I don't understand why a cooking gadget would need a phone integrated ? Isn't that a risk
Great review. Is there a way to create your own recipe with the T6?
Keep it up.
Dude, are you serious? There's no need to be a diva!
If you don’t like making bad comments then don’t it’s not that hard. If you think that she’s doing sm wrong you could easily keep that to yourself, and if you really feel the need to leave a comment like this you could’ve at least put it in a nicer way.
Keep it up.
I think it was constructive criticism
I didn't get it, what's the maximum temperature for fermentation? I don't think you said it enough times...
I am so pleased to hear your comments about being locked into Cookido thank you
What is the temperature for Yoghurt?
Will you be doing any more TM6 video reviews? I really found the last two helpful athere'sres no one else doing them in English.
I might be doing one more 👍
You use Thermomix when camping? I must have been doing it wrong.. :)
haha i have so many questions about that. because clearly i'm doing it wrong too
Wow I still haven’t a clue what this product does after watching this. I suppose I should look for a demonstration video
yeah, 1300 euro product, no clue what it does
If you are in the US I can help you with a “live” demo. Let me know or visit shop.thermomix.com/consultant/114603/
My mums got one of them and she’s addicted to it she loves it so much is that the five
Where is the final verdict video?
Thank you for such an in-depth independent review. I was definitely thinking of upgrading from my T31, but as I like cooking my own recipes I think I shall go for theTM 5 instead as it is an attractive price now.
I doubt many commercial chefs would be interested in the instructional recipes, the TM6 would lose a potentially lucrative market. Two models catering for two very different users would have been a better strategy.
Why do you think commercial chefs would not be interested in the instructional recipes?
Thank you so much for your honest review! I have tm5 so I don’t think that at the moment it justifies spending a grand .
Excellent video! Am actually planning to get one Thermomix (my first purchase!) Am not sure should I be waiting for TM6? Am looking forward to your next video if it's worth for an upgrade!! Hope you can post it soon hehe...
Joanne the tm5 is no longer being sold.
@@rachelcoutts4547 The TM5 the only model available in Canada for sale. No ETA on the TM6

Sophia... Thank you so much. You really gave a thorough evaluation. I hope they fix these bugs quickly
Glad you found it helpful!
Brilliant review, love all your videos. So much passion inspired me to cook again.
So essentially the new modes are a bit useless and don’t offer anything new. Slow cooking is still done better in a slow cooker. Now they’ve provided scales that are actually accurate and have provided a bigger screen.
A TM5 secondhand it is then.
Will Woodhouse are you paid to say that? Because if not what you said shows that you know nothing about it!!! Show us more please...
@@mariajoaopires6363 I don't understand what you are saying. I have a TM31 and am more than happy with it. I don't need any bells and whistles
Well I just want to assure you that the Tm6 represents a huge technological jump as far as Tm5 is concerned. If you like, as I did, the one you have, you’ll feel in heaven with the Tm6, believe me!!!
Think you need to update the part about slow cooking. The blade cover will mean you keep chunks
Great video! Thanks for that review
😊😊😊
Great video and very useful as I am looking at purchasing a TM6. thank you Rebecca
If during isolation you can only have one with you, would you choose TM6 or your husband?
WM 1032 TM6 of course 😁😁😁

I am soooo happy to watch your videos and this tm6 review. I definitely love to experiment and do my own thing. I used quite a few recipes but not a lot. I liked using it for my own recipes far more. I can easily afford to pay for cookidoo but not really needed in my opinion. The TH-cam videos give me ideas to try so thank you for your input.
You don’t need Cookidoo necessarily. I’m an advisor on this, so let me know if you have any more questions!
Hi Sophia, I heard the customer has to pay extra money for Cookidoo every year? how much is it?
Paul
It can chop vegetables you only need to learn what time and speed to use for different quantities
I would buy it if the accessories were in either glass or stainless steel. I am surprised that there is so much plastic for such an expensive cooker.
LOL
Who takes appliances camping?
🙋♀️😬
Very knowledgeable reviewer. I was thinking of buying one of these but this review stopped me! Oh well, back to the drawing/chopping board...
Hi Simon, the machine is superb. If you have some doubts speak to me, because some people have been misled. I’m an advisor on it, I can show you how you can use it to its full potential!
So I feel like if I’m frying some herbs or like garlic to get the flavor then it would be quite nice
Yes that would probably work quite well! But only if it’s in a cookidoo recipe.
Amazing review Shopia thank you
Great review, but I fell the TM5 is far better..
Talking Celsius when you're talking degrees of temperature, yes?
just ordered the tm6 anxious to get it!!
can you make your own recipe?
@@LL-br2jx Yes most definitely and you can use the cookidoo too which has thousands of recipes.
So helpful. Thank you! My TM6 arrives on Monday! 😃
would you recommend it?
Sophia thanks for your video it help me understand more about TM6. I got my Thermomix Tm6 today sound very happy but bad news is i going to return to HQ tomorrow cause the box damage quite badly due to delivery handling issue. I didn't open it cause afraid inside might damage too. Thanks for HQ office fast response after i sent them the damage part of the pic and they agree to replace me new unit.
Excelente honest review. This cookido subscription for using this new modes is awful. It really makes you think if it's worth it buying.
It’s not necessary to keep the Cookidoo subscription. I’m an advisor in the UK. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Wooo another video! What a shame about the technical difficulties! Hope you are well Sophia :) Ben
Love these thoughts Ben!
Thank you so much. Super helpful. Would love to see the fermentation setting. Very curious!!
How can i buy a cook key ? please
You can buy it online on their website
Awesome review, thx. Still dreaming of the day I can make Thermomix recipies myself.
Thanks!
Withholding functionality is a real turn-off. Not that I care about those functions, but it's the principal and not a good look. That said, this is one cool machine.... and the design is stunning. Thank you so much for your comprehensive review. Great content!
Such a great clear and honest review! You should make reviews of everything!! Thanks!!!
Thanks for that ! I’m a free cook as well And those were the exact things that would bother me as well
Im vegan. Do you think there are enough recipes ?
So knowledgeable. Thank you x
Thank you for this. It’s very in depth. I think I’ll stick with my TM5 because I use my own recipes and have separate scales if I’m desperate. I think I prefer the simplicity. I hope they keep selling the TM5.
Can you please share some of your recipes?
