    For the record, I think Alien 3 and Resurrection are both awful films. Apparently, my comment about Alien 3 has caused an uproar. With the way Alien 3 left things, can you really expect Resurrection to be a good film? It's terrible. It probably should have never been made. And I don't take it as a serious Alien film. The first half is just silly sci-fi stuff and the second half is just bizarre. Furthermore, Alien 3 doesn't even come close to the first film in terms of horror, thrills, or excitement. Ultimately, to each their own.
    What my opinion on Alien 3 has to do with Alien: Isolation, the primary focus of this video, I don't know. You're welcome to disagree, debate, and share your arguments. But show respect for other people's opinions. Thank you.

      Gaming Pastime I absolutely agree on Resurrection at least being a more tolerable and entertaining watch. It's like if Alien KNEW it was becominhr a B grade movie franchise and embraced it in the best way possible, but were still creative.
      None of that can be said for the incredibly bland Alien 3.
      And this is coming from someone who doesn't even particularly care about how they killed off the two other surviving characters from the 2nd film.

      Yeah, you stepped on a cultural landmine, I'm afraid. Rabid Fincherfans are now going to inundate you with rants about how it's a "masterpiece". I'd say it looks cool, had a handful of good moments, mostly wastes a great cast, and that at least the assembly cut makes sense...kind of.

    • @Gamingpastime64
      @Gamingpastime64  6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      What's funny is even Fincher wants nothing to do with the film. Studio interference or not, I think it's a flawed film.

      Alien Resurrection sucks, mainly due to Joss Whedon's shit writing, despite having a very visual art directing duo of Caro and Jeunet. Alien 3 the workprint edition is perfect end to the Alien trilogy.

      ProjectFlashlight612 the only thing Dino Crisis has to Isolation is that theres an isolated scientific facility overrun with monstrous creatures.
      Otherwise there’s nothing else to compare.
      A Jurassic Park style game set in Site B or the original park with Raptors being the main antagonist would be cool, but i imagine it would be very difficult to incorporate other dinosaurs as antagonists without feeling like its retreading the same ground as the Raptors.

    I actually want to say the flamethrower really doesn’t make it easier. The more you use it the more it gets used to it and the more fuel you end up having to use to scare it. I would say when I first played it I used it at the end of the game for the first time and literally with just little flame it ran away. But the second time I played the game the more I used it the more I had to use fuel to scare it. It’s daam hard

    • @MapleLeafAce

      SSKDev yep. They adapt to your tactics so you can’t really over use any one tactic or it eventually stops working.

      SSKDev Late comment but, the flame thrower always makes the alien run if you actually burn it. It always takes 50cc of fuel to make it piss off, at least on the difficulty that I was playing on. At first the Alien is afraid of the sight of fire but will learn to power through it so you have to make sure you get as close to bastard as possible to actually burn him and not just scare him.

      @@timsawyer9231 i like having a challenge on a lot of games so my games are usually on hard or the setting that is closest to hard. But damn this game makes it alot more challenge, hard is y know hard but the difficulty after it, nightmare is like 6 levels up from it. So i congratulate the game for having the hardest setting be ALOT harder than most games. By far one of the most underrated games. Hope there is a sequel coming.

    The reason why the Alien always gravitates towards your general area is because there is a "Director" (like Left for Dead) telling it what area of the ship to search. This director also tells the alien where it is and isn't allowed to search.
    From what I understand, the alien is always active through most of the game (until it is killed). For cutscene or story areas, the director will tell it to search a different part of the ship. It's only inactive in the levels before it is introduced, and levels after it dies. It also never teleports during gameplay (though it will teleport when if its presence is required for an in game cutscene).
    If I had to guess, the "Leash" that the mod author it talking about is the range it is allowed to search away from the player before the Director will give the alien a 'hint'.
    The check out "The AI of Alien: Isolation" by AI and Games here on youtube if you want to know more about how the alien actually works. Its quite fascinating

      Blue Xenomorph85 I thought Outlast was scary at first... and it was... until I played this. I was even crapping my pants saving the game worried that it was just around the corner or it would hear me. Even the working Joes could be creepy if they crept up on you. Every time you heard the banging in the vents it was a race to find a hiding spot before it came out of the ceiling and there were a few times I was trapped in a room with it on the other side of a table circling it hoping it went away and knowing I had no stuff to make a noise maker, no molotovs and no flamethrower fuel. Brilliant game. I'll replay it one day, but not for a while 😂

      journeyman121 Omg yes. I was never worried about saving with The Working Joes just The Alien. I Love Xenomorphs so much but The Alien scares the crap of me, and The Androids are really creepy. But I have to say though as Creepy as The Androids are they did such an Amazing design with The Androids. I really have to give Kudos on that. I mean everything about Alien Isolation is Perfection. My first experience with this game was up till the point where you first see The Alien after you get the Security Access Tuner before you go to Seegson Communication I stopped for like 5 or 6 months it scared me that much😆😆

      Mai Nem I wanted two sequels. One authentic to the spirit of the original, and an Aliens-style sequel, whereby ammunition is scarce, and the swarms of warriors aren’t scripted, and often aliens have unpredictable hitpoint allocation. Meaning it’s frightening to engage them- killing them would be unpredictable. Except for occasional scripted cinematically-inspired-action sequences, where the aliens are more easily defeated.

    I believe the last part of the Crew Expendable DLC was based off a deleted scene in the original movie where the remaining Nostromo crew tries to trap the Xenomorph in the ship's airlock to shoot it out into space, but manages to escape the trap when Ash "accidentally" sets off the ship's alarm. I believe it might be the reason why Ripley has a bloody nose in one of the scenes of the film.

    My thoughts on the game:
    1. It's probably the best horror game I've ever played because it's actually scary and challenging too. Not to mention, gorgeous graphics and it runs nicely.
    2. The alien is probably the best written AI I've encountered in a horror game. It's complicated enough to make it seem smart and at the same time, hard to work around.
    3. I don't really know why people have such a problem with the length of the main story campaign. I prefer main storylines to be long so I get my money's worth out of the game.
    4. The working Joe's are only really scary when you're in a confined room with no way to escape them.
    5. The working Joe's are not the main threat, simply a supporting threat to make it even scarier.
    6. The best way to use ammo and items is literally to save them until late in the game.
    7. Reloading to escape working Joe's is cheating. Play with the hand you're dealt.
    8. The "Unpredictable Alien Mod" seems counter productive. It just seems to make it easier to avoid the alien. Instead, the mod should have added new mechanics to the alien to make it be able to find you easier. Or perhaps make the alien want to sprint more or something. Something to make the alien scarier.
    The Alien's AI is actually really well written in the fact that there's two main components. One component is the director component. It's the part that you refer to as the AI rubberbanding. Basically, it's job is to judge how much the alien must stay close to you. It will give the alien hints as to where you are to draw it in to the area you, the player, are in. But, it won't let the alien stick around too long. The game developers knew they had to make the alien scary, but not impossible to get past. If the alien sticks around for more than a few moments, the director layer of its AI will lead it away from the player for an indeterminate amount of time. This layer is meant to keep the alien present and make the game scary and fun, but not impossible. It regulates the tension in the game. It creates moments of high tension broken up by short breaks to allow the player to move. It also sets up areas of interest for the alien to patrol to ensure the game is difficult. Naturally, no game can have a 100% random AI. So, the alien will have a tendency to patrol certain areas for the player.
    The second component or layer, is the alien's active AI. This layer has no idea where the player is, and can only guess based on what the director layer tells it. But, it also has a range of sensors that search for any sound the player makes, visual contact with the player, and other such things. It's basically the layer of the AI that makes the alien the alien.
    By removing the rubberbanding in the game, essentially what you're doing is removing the first layer of the alien's AI. Which makes the game less challenging because the alien isn't breathing down your neck as much. But, if the alien's presence bothers you because you don't like that it's following you, just imagine that it's not always the same alien coming after you. There are a bunch on the station.

    Did any of you know that if the alien attacks a large group of people with guns any they all focus fire on it, the alien will retreat back into the vents? it's really rare for the ai to focus fire on it, but it can happen

    This game on the hardest difficulty is one of my favourite games of all time. Hyper realistic sound, lighting, graphics, and physics. Making it to the next checkpoint is as big of a deal as beating a full level on any other difficulty. Trial and error is almost always the case due to the intense realistic difficulty of hard mode. It’s immensely satisfying. Perfect 10/10. Needs a sequel.

    played this thru with my brother cos the Working Joe's totally creeped me out. weirdly I wasn't bothered by the xenomorph. but seeing the glowing eyes of a Joe at the end of a dark corridor gave me chills. sometimes you think you are alone & suddenly a Joe you didn't notice starts talking & it really made me jump. worst bits for me were the Joe sales room because you just knew they were gonna move - the Joe's in the reactor core with the suits on. but the creepiest bit was when we were hidden in a vent & there was a grating looking into a room with a Joe. the xenomorph dropped down into the room & the Joe started talking to the alien. it shows how well made Alien Isolation is that it can literally paralyze you with fear. It helped playing the game with someone because I couldn't make any progress in areas with Joe's. I just kept going back to safe spots to avoid going near any Joes. been a gamer since the days of ZX Spectrum & even owned the Alien game & this is the first game to effect me like that. awesome game tho & hoping they do a sequel.

    With the exception of the Xeno sometimes climbing into a vent to kill you, this game really isn't that scary. It's just stressful. The level of relentless tension when the Xeno is around is insane. He's fast, unpredictable, and incredibly aggressive. As for the people who claim that having the flamethrower has "made the game too easy" I have to say this. It is NOT foolproof. It doesn't always scare him away. There have been several times where I blasted him with flames and he still killed my ass.

    You prefer Alien Resurrection to Alien 3? Wow. To each their own but Resurrection was a poorly written atrocity with awful dialogue and a bunch of terrible characters and acting. In spite of everything wrong with 3, at least aesthetically and tonally it carved out it's own feeling as well as acting as more of a sequel to Alien then Aliens. Even so, nice review. Isolation is probably the best addition to the franchise since Aliens.

    • @Gamingpastime64
      @Gamingpastime64  6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I understand your viewpoint 100%. But coming off of Aliens, which is arguable the best in the series, Alien 3 showed no respect for it. That opening scene is infuriating. Resurrection is more of a fun sci-fi action movie. And as stated in the video, the movie had to work with the mess 3 made.

    • @hellcatdave1

      3 was a mess because of studio interference. I love the fact they killed off fan favorites in Alien 3. The Assembly Cut is the best version and very comprehensive.

      JNK117 Alien 3 is awful, but it’s true to the lore, design and spirit of the franchise.
      Alien resurrection is to Alien what The Last Jedi is to Star Wars. It’s a farcical parody. A clone with memories? This doesn’t belong in the relatively plausible Aliens universe.

      Gaming Pastime If you remove the nostalgia goggles you'd realize just how shallow and cliche Hicks and Newt were as characters and that Aliens had to significantly dumb down the xenos just so they could be easily killed by a bunch of dumb space marines.

    • @Gamingpastime64
      @Gamingpastime64  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      How were they dumbed down? The Marines had military firepower. If the Nostromo crew had pulse rifles, they might have all lived.
      If you want to look at these films without their respective genres attached, Ripley warned the Marines of what they were up against before they even landed on LV-426. The Marines went in prepared for a threat and most of them did get slaughtered by the Aliens. The Nostromo crew wasn't prepared for what happened nor could they have been. Hence why most of them were killed.
      I don't even get some of these arguments. Both films are of two different genres, yes. And I love both. But Aliens doesn't show any disrespect for the first film. Ripley is further developed and the movie digs deeper into the Alien caste system. Most of the Marines are killed. I have no problem with Hicks or Newt. Newt is obviously a catalyst to show off Ripley's maternal side. The film establishes she has/had a daughter who, by the way, is the protagonist of this game.
      The Alien representation was basically unchanged in Aliens, minus the ridges on there heads but I believe they're just a different type of Xenomorph. But there's other theories surrounding that.
      I really think these arguments come down to genre preference. And with that said Alien 3 doesn't even come close to Alien in terms of horror, thrills, or suspense.

      @Gamingpastime64  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I respectfully disagree. The opening scene is an insult to Aliens. There would be no "resurrection" if Alien 3 didn't end the way it did. And Alien: Resurrection or whatever it may have been called could have been a much better movie had Alien 3 not made said "mess".

    • @fastleppard
      @fastleppard 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Alien 3 Assembly cut, was a great movie. If you based only on the nostalgia of the survivors characters from Aliens, you will have a handicap on how to understand the nihilistic situation of the tragedy from Alien 3, that is the essence and substance of that movie.
      Alien 3 was the final movie from the series, Alien Resurrection was only a commercial temptation to make another alien movies with bigger budgets.
      Alien Resurrection has great special effects and his own good paths, but is not so valuable as Alien 3, in sense of story and mythology, because it has the lack of that understanding of how serious and scientific is the universe of Alien. That parts of comedy from Alien Resurrection destroy his own mythology, that is created by those 3 movies.
      Alien 3 was not perfect, but it was very original and maintain that horror thing that the first movie has.
      Those first three movies are great( ALien, ALiens, Alien3).

    • @fastleppard
      @fastleppard 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      And another thing that you do not understand, is that the alien Xenomorph is a very dangerous creature, a bio-weapon, a fearless devil in metaphoric ways, that is very good portrayed in Alien 1979 and Aline 3 1992. Why i said this, because in ALiens 1986, despite how good it is that movie with action pack thriller and story, wee missed that concept of indestructible creature that is in Alien 1979( the perfect organism) and Alien 3( the perfect organism, that resist on molten led).
      Aliens is an action packed movie with a great and epic story in all the ways, but what James Cameron think, it was to pot the Queen alien in the center of interest, and to pot in second line the warrior aliens, and tin this situations the alien from alien become a mediocre creature.

      David Fincher said that the production team and the guys from fox where in bad decisions with him, and force him to turn some shoots as they want.
      David has no denial about Alien 3, his own regrets is in that nightmare created by fox agents, leaving him without freedom of creation, as he want it to do.
      But i tell you that Alien 3 is that kind of movie that close the trilogy and maintain that substance and logic of the series.
      Aline 3 is a kafkian movie in all the aspects of it, from the cinematic atmosphere trough the aesthetic elements, props and sets.

    There is a reason why the alien is always nearby. The game is designed with “2 xenomorph AI’s” for lack of a better way of putting it. One that searches for you, and one that always knows where you are. The all seeing one basically tells the searching one where you are, but when it gets close, it’ll send it to some other area. That is why it is always nearby, but still roams around instead of coming straight for you every time.

If you were to go into why said detail or segment is great/awful as you went through it more often, it'd be a better review. Prior's comment is comparatively more of a review than your video is.
      Your last quarter of the video is far far better than the first half for this reason. You should stick to that sort of critique through the whole video.

There is one thing you forgot to mention if you do not mind, not sure if it exists on PC but the console versions has it. There is an option in setting where it turns your controller microphone on (if plugged in) and any noise you make via the mic can be heard by the alien. I know this for a fact as i started the game without knowing it was on and while the alien was passing near me and i was in a small locker i said something and it found me. Nevertheless an awesome game, 10/10 and still searching for the day a sequel would be released. Keep up the great work.

    In regards to movement speed and keyboards, the reason you can't slowly creep in this game with a keyboard is not necessarily an oversight on the game developers, it's just a problem with keyboards in general. There's two types of inputs, digital and analogue. A digital input is either on or off. An analogue input on the other hand can have varying steps between on and off.
    Controllers utilize an anlogue input for movement. When the stick is centered the output is 0. When the stick is pushed all the way to the edge of the controller, the output is 1. So from center to the edge, the input the game sees is a decimal value that ranges between 0 and 1. This allows the game to make you move slower when the player holds the stick in specific regions.
    Keyboards do not work like this. With a keyboard, a key is either pressed, or it isn't. It's either a 1 or a 0. There is no in-between. Developers usually implement some kind of a walking toggle to alleviate this, but I think the reason it was left out of Alien Isolation is because the default walking speed is already fairly slow.
    There ARE analogue input keyboards you can buy, but trying to use them would be like learning how to ride a bike that is backwards. Imagine playing a game that requires you to walk, but you can't bottom out the W key otherwise you'll run full speed. Imagine using all of your keys in such a way that you have to keep specific amounts of pressure on every single one to perform the desired movement. That sounds like an awful lot of re-training of muscle memory that I am not willing to commit to. So I think I'll just continue to use a controller when these kinds of inputs are required.

    Alien: Isolation has the most amazing 70s/80s sci-fi aesthetics in any game I have EVER seen and it just oozes (no pun intended) quality and polish. (I dearly hope that ROUTINE is not dead yet). • @spartan456
    @spartan456 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Alien: Isolation always reminded me of a more linear version of System Shock 2 (I never got into the first one because it feels like playing an operating system). Both games task you with going around various parts of this massive sci-fi setting and repairing various things/finding specific information/etc. Both games are also relatively similar in overall pacing. System Shock is a game best played slowly, and so is Alien: Isolation. Lots of work went into the worldbuilding for both games and the developers intended for the players to get immersed in that worldbuilding.
    While the individual characters may not be particularly interesting, there is still a lot to appreciate in the environment and atmosphere with both games. Much like the Von Braun in SS2, every place you visit in Sevastpol feels like it has a tangible reason to exist. You can see every area as it is now, and easily imagine what it might have looked like not too long ago. Also in both games, much of the story is told vicariously through audio and text logs. Also, interesting little nod to System Shock is in Alien: Isolation as well. When you hit an android with the stun baton for the first time, you get an achievement called "Shock the System". Cute little homage for sure.
    It may have taken me years to finally complete this game, but that's because it's so damn terrifying. This game amazed me in 2014 and it still amazes me even now. To this day it still manages to be among some of the best looking games I've ever played, and the behavior of the Alien AI also makes replaying the game absolutely worthwhile. I would love to see a sequel to this game, or at the very least, see what Creative Assembly can do with a more open-ended and original concept. Alien: Isolation is a lot of fully-realized potential, would be great to see what else they can do with that.

    Will the unpredictable Alien mod make it just a little esaier to get through "nightmare mode"? Currently I am limping my way through nightmare, but the Alien comes out way too much, even though i am not making any noise. Nightmare also ups the difficulty in the fact that there is pretty much no crafting material around, or ammo. The flamethrower isn't very useful at all because there is no fuel around, and when I do use it the Alien goes away, and then comes right back down. It breaks the immersion because the thing is always coming around the vents, and always attached to me.

    The Working Joes are the most annoying enemies in the game? I thought that status was meant for the facehuggers.
    Mostly because the Working Joes:
    - Are basically tankier humans without weapons
    - Don't get killed by the Xenomorph or attack the Xenomorph
    - Can be avoided with stealth
    - Have weaknesses to electric-based weapons
    - Don't instantly kill you
    - Attempting to fight or kill one can summon a Xenomorph due to the sound
    -Are encountered in open spaces
    - Can be friendly...for a while
    - You can escape from in Vents and passageways as they cannot crawl/crouch, they can however open lockers so don't bother hiding in them, even if they don't see you go in them they know you're there
    The facehuggers, however:
    - Are small and quick and, because of it, hard to hit/kill
    - Attempting to kill one can summon the Xenomorph due to the sound
    - Can instantly kill you
    - Can be killed by everything except close range weapons, because it will instantly kill you for even trying (only idiots try that)
    - Are mostly encountered in dark places such as the hive or cramped spaces such as vents, making them harder to spot
    - Can't be avoided stealthily, as if you get even remotely close they agro on you, and are placed in your way at late game points
    - You cannot escape from due to their size, you can hide in lockers and such, but you may as well load a previous save at that point, because if you open up, you're dead
    No matter what Alien/Aliens/AVP game they're in, the facehuggers always seem to be the worst enemy (save for the turrets in AVP classic 2000, I hate those turrets more)
    To me, if they removed the facehuggers from the game, I would play the game FAR more often

      Gaming Pastime True, but the Facehuggers are the only enemy I personally dread when I play the game, because as I stated before, you can avoid the Working Joes, but not the Facehuggers.
      That coupled with the facts that they're hard to kill, and you HAVE to kill them to proceed, and that brings the Xenomorphs out because of the noise, and that all together creates a problematic enemy for me

    I really want to replay this game with this "leash" mod: on my first run I didn't enjoy it much, due precisely to how obvious it was that the alien knew where you were at all times and was just dum-dee-dum-ing around your position waiting for you to make a mistake.
    By the way, watch the Assembly Cut of Alien 3, it really does restore a movie ruined by studio interference into a pretty good movie.

      I would highly recommend the mod. It's good stuff.
      I've seen the Assembly Cut and must respectfully disagree.

      Yeah. The encounters with them are nowhere near as fun as the hide-and-seek mechanics of the Alien.

      @sumsriv 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sure. but i still think they were scary. their voices were creepy and they were really hard to kill. they took a ton of bullets, they always overpowered me with a melee.. even a flamethrower wasnt a guarantee..

      Yeah, I know. Scary is subjective but I found them to be more of a nuisance.

    I'd love to see a Predator or a Terminator game with the same premise as Alien: Isolation.
    Sneaking through jungles/towns etc while a predator/terminator is hunting you. I don't know, i just really want another game that feels as good as this did.

    😨😨😱 F*** me the clips of the gameplay here had me on edge. Just instantly pitted myself into that immersive experience watching this & really got my heart racing.
    Loved Dead Space & this reminds me so much of the first one, which in turn took a lot of the horror atmosphere ideology from classics on screen like Alien & Aliens. An absolutely terrifying experience that had you planning 2 steps ahead & running for cover as much as possible when fighting was just too dangerous, love that style of play, real sense of fear.
    Recently got a high grade Windows 10 gaming PC & something like this & the Dead Space trilogy would be all the horror/shooters I'd need, unless by some miracle Doom 3 & Resurrection of Evil become available without the BFG edition BS which ruined an absolutely iconic game.

    Aliens is my favorite film as well. Try Alien Trilogy for ps1/PC, it's an action pack game in the vein of the original Doom.

  • @hueylouisnonews

    Aliens is the most fun movie to watch and my favorite of the series, but Alien 3 is easily the masterpiece of the trilogy, specifically the assembly cut. It has the best acting, the most thematic, and brings the trilogy to a satisfying end. Inb4 “muh Hicks and Newt.” I was seven when Alien 3 came out and yes I was devastated when they died like everyone else. However as an adult, I appreciate what their death represents. It means no matter how hard you try, no matter how far you go, you can’t save everyone and you can’t beat the Alien. I know I’m not alone in this feeling.

    I can't (or won't) tell you how many hours I put into this game. The first time I played through, I used the recommended "hard" difficulty setting and for anyone that is decent at a stealth-action game like say, Dishonored, hard seems to be a good setting for that but-clenching tension without being nearly impossible. I think you should have mentioned the Post-release "Nightmare" difficulty setting which does increase the perceptiveness of enemies as well as bring your attack and damage endurance down, but it also goes WAY overboard with breaking several other game elements to the point where it's more annoying than difficult. For instance, The HUD that shows your ammo, health status and flashlight batteries is GONE along with the in-game map. You can still check your ammo from the weapon select wheel, but you never know how close to death you are until a Joe chokes you to death the moment it grabs you. It also makes ammo and crafting components EXTREMELY scarce forcing you to go with an almost pure hiding tactic. Not to mention that the flamethrower burns more fuel and is less effective on the Xeno. The Xeno is WAY more likely to check in lockers and under desks when it knows you were somewhere close which is actually a good thing about it. However, the leash kept on the Xeno that you mentioned is much shorter which just makes the problem of predictable behavior worse. Of course, that didn't stop me from playing the whole way through in nightmare mode.
    There is a mod that I believe is called "Insane mod" that does a better job of making the game more difficult by making enemies way more sensitive, crafting costs more components, and nerfed inventory, but leaves things like map and HUD intact. The Xeno is so sensitive, that if it's close enough for you to hear it walking, then it can hear you walking too. The only time its really safe to walk is when you know it is in the vents. Sadly, this mod causes my game to tend to crash between loading screens making it nearly impossible to play through all the way, but that doesn't seem to be a normal problem.
    The two Nostromo DLC are more of a homage to the original film than anything else and are there for avid fans of the original movie to have a chance to relive those scenes as well as offering an alternate ending to the airlock trap plan.
    With the survival mode and challenge map DLC, I've found a way to extend the life of those challenges by adding new challenges such as; in addition to getting all of the optional objectives before their timers run out, never pick up the flamethrower (which also gives a bonus to the score, but I don't care about the score anymore). Then do that in endurance mode with all 10 maps. It's great fun to pull off a shotgun or boltgun stun then successfully evade by hiding in a locker.

    I am so glad to hear somebody say they prefer Alien Resurrection over Alien 3. I mean, it's not even an important conversation to have, both movies are bad but I just hate how people say Resurrection is the worst. I'll admit, Resurrection is weird, a lot of the time to the point of being offensive, *but Alien 3 is boring and ugly.* No redeeming qualities at all. As far as I can tell people who like Alien 3 do so because it's similar to the first Alien movie.
    For all of Resurrection's faults, at least it tries to move forward. I support that behavior over making inferior version of an older movie any day.
    BTW, using a controller gives you more movement control over the "wasd" or arrow keys because controllers have ANALOG sticks. Pushing a button on a keyboard is more on-or-off so it's impossible to move without an _"all-or-nothing"_ attitude. Even the shoulder buttons on console controllers are analog nowadays (Gamecube and every console after.)
    As somebody who is not way into PC gaming, are there options for analog movement and button pressing? Like a gaming mouse with analog buttons?
