I guess she didn't want to arise suspicion in anyone if they saw her sneaking back to the castle to see him. Johnny said once in an interview he tried to play Edward scissors hands from the perspective of like a baby or a puppy I think he said. Basically a place of innocent and not knowing. I thought that was exactly what he was like and made the character so lovable. I was a young child when I saw this the first time and remembered being afraid of him a first but then loving him when I realized he wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. Love this movie!

Tend to prefer to be called neurodivergent and not mentally ill, since their condition doesn’t cause themselves internal suffering, rather they tend to get worse because society tends to mistreat them and the education system is usually, less than good at accommodating them.
I just have anxiety, (I’m mentally ill, not neurodivergent). So I’m not an expert. Again, anyone who knows more, feel free to reply with corrections or extra information.

I absolutely hate Joyce. You realise she technically sexually assaulted Edward in the back-room scene. Since he’s the basic build of the process of a scientist’s creation, it seems he had no idea what was going on whatsoever. He’s completely innocent and curious, and he had no idea that that’s what Joyce was doing. I feel horrible about it, then to think she’s one of the people who joined in to call him a monster when he had run away.
