A little late posting here but I will put in my two cents worth. I just received this Bible in black goatskin last week and I am loving it. I love the overall quality, the paper is exceptional, and the print pops out and easy to read. Reading down at one of the post about red letter not being consistent in John 7. I just read all of John 7 and the red lettering is very consistent in my Bible. You gave a very nice review so I believe I will subscribe to your page.

One of the best review on the Topaz I saw, I have the red calf the color on this video make me want to get a blue goat sooner than intended lol

Thanks for the review. Is the book block exactly the same between the calfskin vs. the goatskin (paper quality, art gilding, etc.)? I love the typesetting of these ESV Topaz's, and plan to buy one and have it rebound. I'd love to buy the less expensive one to do that, but I don't want to be purchasing a lower quality text block. Thanks again.

Thanks for the long focus time on the text, I was able to get a good look. This appears sharper than the schuyler offerings I've seen (1 treveris, 2 quentel, 5 psq that I bought in about a year so recent production), which I liked but they could have had crisper font, darker ink, something.

That calfskin is cool , the black peeble grain oldschool though.. that's a Cambridge bible.

I heard other people saying that the red letter and John seven is very inconsistent compared to other areas of the Bible. Is this true? I’m not a fan of red letter Bibles for that very reason but I really do like this layout

Yes, it is true and I’m also a black letter guy myself. That being said, I don’t believe it’s worth the price and I’d like the red letter to be better myself, on the other hand the layout makes up for it.

Would love to see this with the deuterocanonical books

      Absolutely! I couldn’t agree more.

edge-lining just moves the weak point of the binding over a page or two, I like you am not convinced it lasts any longer than a well-made paste down.

You need to combine edge lining with extra stitching - I think some people call it overhand stitching but I might be wrong.

Great review, Brian. Good to see you back.
There is a lot of show-through on the video, is that just the camera or does it look that bad in person?
    Bless you.

Wow 😳 these are amazing Bibles. Did Cambridge send you all of these to review? If so you’re a lucky man brother. Also this was a great review. Very thorough. I watched it twice 👍🏻

I have the black calfskin. I can't decide on the color of the goatskin I want. I like the blue, but I just love a black Bible. I'm kind of jealous of you having 3 lol

You can’t beat the matching blue art gilt of the blue goatskin, though.

Is there a king James bible with the the book of Enoch and the apocrpha

    • @RoastBeefSandwich
      @RoastBeefSandwich 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I don't believe the KJV translators translated Enoch. There are plenty of KJV Bibles with the Apocrypha though.

You've got to get a black bible with the gold edging, blue and people will think you're a mormon, red and people will think you're a Jehovahs Witness.
