    Thanks for doing this video. We too bought an Insignia Roku smart tv from Best Buy 3 years ago and now it is doing the very same things your tv is doing. I just wanted to know if it was fixable or just time to buy a new TV.

    my family had 2 insignia/sharp TVs at one point. they really only do last 3 years, the backlights failed on both around the same time. they had bad picture quality too, the pixels bled into each other and made computer use impossible. my current tv is a 37" samsung from 2010. it still works even after a fall during a move! my vizio also from 2010 is still in use at my brother's place. solid brands with great picture quality sometimes at a low price

    Unlike the old CRTs TV that after 20 years work perfect, you only need a set-top-box or satellite receiver, the new TVs (not only TVs but other electronics) last 2 or 3 years, maybe 5 years. I had an 32 inch FHD LG SMART TV bought in 2016. The first problem with the LG TV was that last year the colors started to become more pink and purple. I decided to repair it and it only lasted 6 months and the power source broke. I decided to buy a 4K TV but not from LG. Also a Philips TV/Monitor only lasted 3 years and the power source broke. But the SAMSUNG CRT TV from 2004 which was used a lot works excellent even today.

    I paid $2000 at Walmart for 55” Visio because it had a refresh rate 480Hz close to typical plasma TV. The power supply fried itself, after 3 years. The service tech said it must have been struck by lightning. I spent 20 year servicing Air Force radios in the field. I know what happens when a radio with lightning arrestor on the antennas looks like. That service tech was blowing smoke up my ass.
    I replaced it with a 55” ROKU/SHARP for $400 and I have had it for over 10 years. I bought another just like it for the bedroom.

    Just found this video today as my Insignia that's right at 3 years old just started doing this same thing today. SO frustrating. Even a cheap TV like this should last a minimum of 5-7 years.

    Almost twenty years ago I bought an ASUS motherboard. I thought ASUS was a trusted supplier, because all the magazines were talking about them. I bought an high end video card to go with it as well. Six or seven moths later I started having boot problems. I called ASUS and they told that they had been sold counterfeit capacitors, and my motherboard serial number was part of a recall. they sent me another motherboard. After rebuilding my computer with the new motherboard, I still had problems with my video card. ASUS said they not liable for anything, but the motherboard. I never did get that machine to work properly even after replacing the video card.
    I think these machines like your TV, that die after a short time, the manufactures are unknowingly buying counterfeit capacitors.

    Unplug it and leave it unplugged for like a full 24 hours. This happens to me when I binge a show in 4K or play Series X for too long. Don’t think these TVs are made for prolonged use in 4K mode.
    If you do get a new one though, go with a Sony. That company doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of planned obsolescence.

    Mine literally just stated doing this EXCAT thing! Before it was just the picture going just gray and having to simply restart to fix. Now it's doing this. Has anyone figured out what is causing this and anyway to fix it other than unplugging it, restarting it, resetting it, and unplugging all hdmi cords? Because I've tried all of those options and no luck. Is this a situation where I have to pay out the ass for a new TV? And will my best buy total tech membership cover fixing this?

    • @RobbieStrike
      @RobbieStrike  ปีที่แล้ว

      you can buy a new t Bord and see if that is the problem. But the bored was over $80 and I was not %100 sure. So I decided to get a new TV instead of risking My valuable Time. So I guess Insignia wants you to pay $400 every few years for a new TV.
