I was about to do some Bruce Lee kicks on the t.v. I came across your video and walaa it worked. The first suggestion you gave the 50% problem solving is now 51% lol Thank you sir. Best regards
Our TV has sound but a black screen, it blinks like it wants to come on but that's all it does. I went through all the steps but when it comes to lights I'm done. Time for a new TV. But thanks for your logic mate.
THANK YOU , your instructions on how to fix the TV that has sound but no picture is 100% accurate. You are a Muthafu*king genius my set is working fine now without any glitches picture perfect you just gave me an idea of a side hustle cause I know numerous family & friends that has the same set and I'm definitely sending them a memo that I know how to fix it if it's a simple issue such as mine , teacher/instructor I was about to go buy me another set & you actually saved me cash but I will keep this between us I will charge 150 dollars for each simple reset I do that works like I said before you gave me a side hustle. I tip my hat hat to you and if you ever in my area which is Niagra falls Ontario holla at me I will definitely hit you off with a gift and a great time at the club that I'm a manager. I will definitely let you know just how many sets I reset with the simple instructions you gave me. Hell I might even start picking up sets I see at the curb for trash and try to reboot them all .
Just happened with my tv just now I unplugged it held the power bottom for 15 seconds and then plugged it back in and it worked but I’m still going to invest in a new Tv this is to scary
My 65 inch fire backlight went out..I don't think these motherboards can handle processing 4k console gaming..This my second tv in 3 yrs same issue..I'm switching to oled for now on.
This just happened with my 3 year old multicade... a multicade that is an absolute PITA to assemble and disassemble. We're talking 30 minutes to an hour to unscrew, dismount the top of the cabinet, and get to the TV lol.
I don’t really understand what happened to my tv, it was working fine. The screensaver was on I then turned off the tv and left to take a shower then after I showered I tried turning the tv on and this problem started happening. There’s still sound, I tried resetting it but the screen is black. You can see images when flashing light. It’s just so strange, it was working fine just 30 minutes prior
TV would show "insignia" then nothing. A long cold/unplugged reboot would get it going again. We opened it up and checked output voltage pins on power board and they were fine at 12V. We ran it for 24 hours and TV was still working and the power board was still fine, no hot power transistors. The backlight comes on so T-CON is fine. I suspect the main board firmware is not booting ( gets hung). That might explain the momentary "insignia" which is a low level boot then nothing. A cold (unplug and wait) reboot maybe totally clears any issue in the main board and allows it to boot. If you do get it running I suggest you follow the "factory reset". Anyway thanks. I am pretty sure the main board is the problem so might replace if needed. For now though we are going to use a smartplug to totally unpower the TV when not in use. This will make for a cold restart every time and thus avoid any boot issues. If you don't have a smart plug just use one of those inline power switches or a power strip which can be turned off.
I had picked up an insignia with no picture just sound. I brought it home to my house from my daughters house. During the ride when I turned it on at my house it worked perfectly, like no problem ever existed. I left it alone for a couple of weeks, but today when I turned it on it was back to black picture with sound. Does this sound more like a loose cable?
This exact same thing happened to me! This tv worked fine then I had it sit for awhile because of personal reasons then when I went to get it going again now the screen goes black but I have sound. It sat for a few months or so not used
I turned my Insignia Amazon Fire TV on and then decided to look at my phone while it started. The TV flickered when I turned it on. After a while, it went dim. I eventually looked up from my phone to play a video game and saw the TV screen was totally black. I assumed this was the energy saving feature that automatically happens when the screen is left idle for too long. That usually happens when the Home Screen is left on. I tried troubleshooting. Nothing works except audio. I'm not taking this thing apart.
So when trying to test the backlights by disconnecting the wire from the power board, to the main board, I cant turn the TV back on to see if the backlights come on or not because the IR sensor and manual power button are plugged into the main board, and with there no longer being power sent to the main board, due to the wire being disconnected, I cant turn the TV back on. Any suggestions on how to power it back on with that wire disconnected? Thank you
Can someone help me yesterday my tv was perfect than out of nowhere the brightness is all the way down screen is almost black and you can barely see anything, can anyone tell me why this happened?
Yeah, same question. The power-on button goes to the main board, which I just unplugged from the power board, so not sure how this step in the trouble shooting can work. Appreciate this video tho.
mine turns on but it’s super dim, almost black. i turned off all the lights and i can see some, i’ve tried unplugging and plugging. nothings working ):
I am scrapping out an Insignia TV with fire tv remote. it had faint audio when I pressed the Prime video button but xero image I heard a pop. If anyone wants this TV, What would it cost to ship? I am junking it. The TV ran 3 years and quit. I hate to juink the parts is someone could use them. Iy is free, I libe near Mackinac City Michigan.
Mine was like 14 months old too I just can’t throw it out it’s still a new tv such bull shit someone should have to give our money back for this piece of trash

what if after taking off cable between power board and main board power of the entire tv does not come on what should be done that time?

It's actually spelled viola, believe it or not
It’s voilà

Thanks
Thank you for a great video brought back memories from school! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I unplugged my tv for a few minutes and this worked
Insignia is the worst tv brand ever
Have an insignia since 2008 and still works perfectly. Maybe the new ones are the ones acting weird. The ones I purchased in 2016 and 2018 are damaged
Designed obsolescence
I am starting to believe this because I have just started having problems with mine after almost two years of ownership.
@ I was always using Samsung TV and insignia before then switch it to Sony X90L and very happy with it
Sony TVs are great
It is I haven’t had mine even two years and it’s done
Just happened with my tv just now I unplugged it held the power bottom for 15 seconds and then plugged it back in and it worked but I’m still going to invest in a new Tv this is to scary
You are amazing t con cables were causing issues thank you so much!

They can’t there garbage
Just get a different TV a better TV you’re better off just paying like 300 for a TV instead of these cheap piece of crap

My tv picture is coming on for a second and then black 😢 Help
Most likely a hardware issue, but could be just a loose internal cable.
Me to 😢
Did you fix it? 😢
@@Lil_djoo No. I ended up getting a new tv.
Same 😢

Just fixed my backlights on my insignia tv. I used my AR-10 and put holes in the screen to allow light in
I wish you recorded that fix … wanna fix mine?
Now, I turned on one of my brightest flashlights and pointed it at my TV and I can see that it's on. Does it still mean it's a backlight issue?
This is happening to mine as well :(
Yes
Did you figure it out?
@@kenithj76 yeah, I've had the TV since like 2015/2016 so it was time to replace it
Mine too. These TVs suck I haven’t even had mine two damn years and it’s shit the bed already.
Can someone help me yesterday my tv was perfect than out of nowhere the brightness is all the way down screen is almost black and you can barely see anything, can anyone tell me why this happened?
what if after taking off cable between power board and main board power does not come on that what should be done?
You'll have to look at the power board with a multimeter to confirm that is the problem.
Yeah, same question. The power-on button goes to the main board, which I just unplugged from the power board, so not sure how this step in the trouble shooting can work.
Appreciate this video tho.
