It’s funny-I had the exact same experience with Magnamalo, right down to the capture attempt. Back then, I didn’t realize Hub quests were essentially High Rank. Fighting that fat cat with Low Rank gear was not my smartest decision. Still, I’ll give it credit: it taught me patience and how to time my parries better. Stay strong, fellow Gunlancer from a regular Lance main.
@arcadoge5398 Much appreciated! Honestly it's pretty funny it took me that long to realize that too. Honestly as mad as i seem, getting my patience and limits tested in video games is my favorite thing. It makes the end result so much more satisfying. I really appreciate the comment!
Wow thank you! That means a lot :) i definitely have more sunbreak content planned but i have some videos inbetween including me playing the wilds demo too!
@@BrookD.Artiste i played the beta recently and made the decision that i NEED to build a new pc before my birthday (wilds release date :D), cannot wait
Yea... the first magnamalo you face is always a pain, mine was, pure rage, strangely enough duel blade work really well with him, matching his speed with your speed, and if your really determined for something with high defence id recommend regular lance, youd be suprised how many monsters have fallen to a good ol' POKE, that is if your still interested in playing
@Zaciriya Definitely interested in playing, i just rage a lot haha. I've tried dual blades in world so i might check it out in rise. Thanks for the suggestion!
Just found this video at random. I'm sorry for enjoying your suffering 😂 Sorry for incoming long comment, as well. I play on Switch, otherwise I would honestly offer to help. Magnamalo used to be scary, until I needed his rare drop that he refused to give me. I haven't hunted one in months and he's still listed as my most hunted monster. He gets much easier as you progress through the game and become more familiar with him. I will say, as someone who played since 3U as well, that RiseBreak is probably my favorite in the series. It gets way tougher than Magnamalo, but it's so worth it to play all the way through, having some of the coolest fights in the series imo, if you ever consider giving it another chance. It definitely helps to have at least two or three weapons you're proficient with so you can change things up if you're struggling with one. Or even if you're not struggling with it but getting irritated with the fight. Some fights are absolutely miserable with some of my favorite weapons even if I can clear them without any carts, while simultaneously being a ton of fun with other weapons. While I respect gunlance users immensely(I'm so bad with it that I nearly made a friend rage quit the game when I tried it in 4U), it might be a good idea for you to be more flexible with your options and try new things if you're stuck on something for so long. There's 14 weapons to choose from and I can't even tell you how many times I've jumped out of my comfort zone to deal with something and ended up having a blast. I've mained bow since 3U and barely stepped out of my comfort zone by branching into the guns and Hunting Horn in 4U and GenU, but RiseBreak is the first game where I've been totally comfortable with Lance or super hyped about the Insect Glaive or felt like Levi with Dual Blades, I never thought I'd try Sword and Shield but that's been great, and I've even messed around with Long Sword a bit even though that's pretty far out of my wheelhouse. It's a great game to try new things and sometimes when you're getting really frustrated, that can be just the change of pace you need. Especially since putting together new sets and weapons and experimenting with them can also pull you out of the loop of repeating the fight that's frustrating you. I'm sorry for the lengthy comment and hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, but that's just something I found that really helped me to enjoy the game a lot more and not get stressed. I really hope you'll give the game another chance once your rage cools and have tons of fun with it!
Haha, no worries! I appreciate the offer to help, but I'll probably get better with time. You're not overstepping at all! Honestly, I appreciate the lengthy comment a lotttt. You're absolutely right about the weapons. I've honestly just been sticking to gunlance because it's so much fun and versatile compared to every other iteration of the weapon. I loved to switch weapons when I played world because it makes it feel like a whole new game. I am definitely gonna try out more as I play it because thats how I play mon hun now, in old gen I usually just stuck to 1 weapon diverting to 2 or 3 others every now and then. But I think certain monsters make certain weapons harder for sure. I might try some new stuff next time i play because i need a new mon hun game while i wait for wilds 😅 Thanks so much for the comment! 🫶🏻
Playing MHR got me back into the whole series, the flow of the combat is wicked. I was never good with Lance but Switch Axe was doing me well for a while but I like to play Support, so I swapped to the Hunting Horn and it's easily my second favourite weapon now. Slowly getting back into Worlds as well so I can understand everyones frustrations trying to play the Horn, Rise really changed it up.
@oliverfawcett1023 Its interesting to read this because i started using horn in world and wilds demo. In the demo its at its absolute peak so im glad they learned to combine what people liked from both games.
