Myself - Darren John and The MacMaster visited Poppies in Camden Town to try out some traditional fish & chips
My first experience eating Haddock and let me tell you, it was amazing
From the deep fried haddock (with a beer) all the way to the dessert at the end.

Another thing I've noticed is when some soulful/atmospheric music plays you eat fantastically quickly my

Everything about that experience looked wonderful, the Camden Lager, the Haddock (which is my favourite fish), the peas the lot!! If I'm down that way I'm deffo going in there. Cheers for the vlog guys.

Have eaten there a few times it’s very good, live band plays upstairs sometimes. Would like to see you two do a pub crawl in Camden some great bars in the Camden/Primrose hill area.

Great vlog there Darren! Although I am from Norway, I just love Fish&Chips!, and today I had one in Oslo that was absolutely the best I've ever tasted! It melted in my mouth! Next time I'm in London I will try Poppies :-)

Haddock is great scran fella, we live on the West Sussex coast and that's the only fish my wife and I have when getting a fish supper. New to your cannel chap thanks to Mac' and loving your updates. Cheers

when i was a wee lad you could buy the following fish from a chippy:
Cod and Haddock (everyone had these)
Plaice, Pollock, Hake (most places had these)
Gurnard, Rock Eel, Coley (less common and I never found these fish up North,; only in the South)
Halibut and Skate (seasonal)
Flounder, Mullet, Chub, Grouper, Snapper (only abroad i.e. outside of the UK; but they are common fish in a UK Supermarket but not in a UK chippy).

Watching a few more of you're older videos, which never disappoint.
I was a cod man myself until I had an 'off the charts' haddock in Grimsby. I just prefer the texture and flakiness if its a good one. Poppies is in my diary for a visit during 2022 for sure...

That's because, Grimsby is a fishing town, it's main industry and it was massive, knew all about Cod v Haddock, you'd get a slap in Grimsby asking for cod,

Gotta try that one, often go up to the market. If you ever get down to Thames Ditton, Surrey, in between Esher and Kingston on Thames, do try Christy's. Its on the Portsmouth Road just near the green next to the lights. Only a small place, but IMHO one of the best in Britain, have been going there since 2000, nothing has changed much food quality wise, still excellent.

Haddock is the best, Food looked really nice, that sticky toffee pudding was just wow,been there a few times the staff are so friendly and professional, and it's always good, Camden is a fab place to visit got a great buzzing vibe to the place

Gawd Bless You Darren - a proper English Pint glass from way back when I was a youngster - even empty those Pint glasses were heavy! Great way to build a proper appetite - Haddock scores for me over Cod but it can be variable - When its on-cam its off the Scales! Thinking of Fish I used to like Hake fillets - not from the Chippy but from Gateway Supermarkets back in the early 90's

I've never tried haddock. Cod & chips automatically rolls off the tongue when I order in a fish & chip shop. I'll have to change that next time. Great video. Makes me hungry just watching. SUBBED.

Looks a proper Fish and Chip shop, we have one local - Equis great fish and chips (Haddock) cooked to perfection and then there own award wininning ice cream - the business
Fish is so good I enjoy it as much with just some salt & vinegar 😋 👌
I'd like to hit up one of the waterfront takeouts that sell them in newspaper cones
IDK if you ever try it with fry sauce this is very good as well

Now that's more like it. Darren with a smile on his face and food that is "Off the Charts". I thought you looked SO uncomfortable at the cafe the other day when you wore the wig. Not your place at all and you could tell. Poppies looked amazing and I just love the sauces in the little jars, QUALITY.
