is this the way ford should have built the Territory???? Let's Find Out!

My brother and I built this car at BPT Motorsport. It’s great to see the review it deserved.
This car had been my daily driver since new with the V8 implant back in 2009. Fuel economy was instantly better than the 6 cylinder by up to 100klm to the tank.
The 3 valve engine was the logical choice to be used in this car for its torque delivery characteristics.
This car is greatly missed by us at BPT but we just have to many cars that we have modified over the years and something has to go to make space.
We built a small number of these including 4x4 versions and with 6 speed zf auto.
Awesome work mate! Really looked factory n drove beautifully👌
Honestly doesn't surprise me that the fuel economy is better. I've noticed the same with the early LS commodores vs the Ecotec's so the Territory with the huge amount of extra weight over a Commodore would make an even bigger difference
Would love to chuck that 8 into an SY Ghia
Wow what a awesome job mate! id be proud to own it!
@@liltamai just like the rare Au V8 wagon I reckon there better fuel wise than the intechs in the same platform
For someone involved in product development at that time, the simple answer is we didn't have enough funds after BA and stock Territory programs, and even getting the turbo in-line 6 over the line was a tough business case... Nice to see a V8 Territory unicorn exists though!
Did they prefer the diesel option instead? Would the V8 have any advantage over the turbo 6 - I doubt it.
And that the fuel economy compared to the turbo six would've been herrondous....
@@baird55aus diesel came with the facelift to go along with the popularity of other diesel SUVs and was a last ditch attempt. It was too late but worthy of spending the development $ on.
when the government tax everything than nobody's got the money for anything.
Did you have anything to do with the fg development? They still never got the rear legroom right, just wasn't enough..
To keep it simple, it certainly would have made sense to do this at factory level. It was based on the Falcon platform, and the Falcon came in Barra, Barra Turbo and V8. More than sure there would have been a market for it.
Yup should have been a no brainer
Capa did a 400kw supercharged 260 boss Territory
I NEED TO REVIEW THAT!
@@RossReviewsau
Yessssss you do , pleaaaaase track that one down 🙏🏼🙏🏼😫
A friend of mine had the 6cyl Barra version of the territory and I was impressed with it and the way it drove. A V8 version would certainly have been a good car.
Absolutely eh.. the Barras are great especially turbo.. but gotta love a V8 rumble
Great review on the Territory, Ross. You are right, Ford should have put a V8 in some of them. I’m sure they would have sold plenty of them.
It’s crazy to me they didn’t do it!
@@RossReviewsau Head office wouldn't let them change a dunny roll without prior approval so I am sure they didn't want this to show up the Edge!
Wouldn't have sold many when you look at it's fuel economy. No one bought the turbo for the same reason.
@@zaamuro8408 exactly.
Did you know the Territory was taken to Ford HQ in America and the engineers all agreed this was the overall best Ford product in the world at the time ...The Territory in general is an impressive beast but a V8 would have been icing on the cake .
at the same time Ford USA had there "Freestyle" with 3.0L V6 (Duratech same as that era Ford Escape, 500 (which had replaced Taurus during that time) and a CVT with either front wheel drive or a Haldex AWD (a gen 2 system) essentially the Freestyle was a Volvo XC90 with Ford design, the Territory smashed it but that was it for Ford Australia since everything after Territory was just a game of death.
It was a solid vehicle eh! Just wish they made a V8! Tho I’m glad we got the F6X atleast
from memory in BA spec you could get the 3V SOHC Bara V8 in:
XT
FAIRMONT
FAIRMONT GHIA
FAIRLANE GHIA
LTD
also the FPV Fairlane G220
engine specs were:
220kW at 4,800rpm (it did not like to rev as it's a long stroke engine design)
430Nm at around 2,500rpm
red line was officially 5,000 and fuel cut out was 5,200rpm.
all were connected to the 4-Speed ION (BTR) torque converter auto and all were 3.08:1 final drive diff ratio to help with fuel economy.
I seem to recall they were installed in the RTV UTE? but not the stock BA ute or wagons.
Cheers for that info! I think that sounds all correct! Was mainly in the top level luxury sedans
I had a manual ba tonner with the 3v 220 they definitely did make them
@@beauhenderson4959 - yeah whats what I was thinking also, I do recall the RTV ute had the 3V Barra V8 but not the wagons.
lol, my 2.2l mazda cx5 diesel does 420nm at 2000 rpm, 8 seconds to 100 and 8l/100km. rather a barra 6 than this old boat anchor v8
I have a factory BA XT with that engine. Base model - wouldn't know it was V8 except for the small badge on either side. Great for towing.
Worst thing Ford Oz did was not chuck the V6 Diesel from the Territory into the Falcon.
Aside from this particular V8 Territory, the only thing they didn't swap into the BA derived lineup was the TDV6/Falcon combo.
May have saved the model, just because almost no-one was buying the Barra, or even the Falc as a whole, unless it was in XR or travelling salesman trim.
Great review, a V8 in a Territory would make a great tow rig but it would consume A LOT of fuel, even without carrying anything... Still interesting to see people doing these swaps though...
3v v8s are actually more fuel economical then the n/a 6 barra
@@jordanphilly1597 You don't think we actually believe that do you
apparently they are less thirsty than the NA 6.. i cant confirm but thats the story of why they picked this 3V
I'm not so sure about the fuel economy savings in practice, but it may have worked out like this in theory
@Yuck Foutube Interesting that the 3 valve has better economy than the Barra I6
First off, THANKYOU for saying Territory correctly. I hate hearing people say Territree. Secondly, this thing is awesome.
😂🤝 glad you agree brother
It was a factory 4 speed for sure, territory lower spec models received the 4 speed for all of 2011, then it finally got dropped for all of 2012. Nothing wrong with the 4 speed, I found it better than anything holden had to offer up till 2010, although I cant talk for after this date.
The swap is well done, it looks factory
really well done swap i must admit!
I bought one of the very first Territory's back in 2004 when they were first released. If this was an option back then I definately would have ticked that box. It was either the Territory or a VZ SS wagon but the Mrs wanted a 7 seater. 4 years later traded it for a new turbo Ghia and tuned that to over 300kw. I do remember FTG Auto Salvage here in Melbourne building one of these many years ago too.
Gotta admit these with a turned turbo Barra would go very well! But love that V8 noise
Find it sad they only released ba bf wagons with na barras as well would’ve loved a v8 or Barra turbo wagon
Ikr would have loved to see some performance wagons
That thing has been done right mate, goes great & sounds even better I'd love to drive it,great review Johnny thanks man.
Looks factory eh
Only thing that Ford made was FPV version of Territory F6X 270 4litre turbo charged inline six.I drove that few times when I worked at Ford dealer! It was fast and tempting! One in this video has FPV rims!
Yes these were Fpv rims
I’ve got my Territory Diesel. Put it in performance mode the other day, foot flat to the floor. It’s good fun for such a heavy vehicle. Shame we don’t make cars here anymore.
its a crying shame production has stopped
I have a 4wd diesel. I agree that it goes pretty well and has reasonable fuel economy. But it could handle a lot more power. Even on a wet road you can have the steering wheel at almost any angle and floor it and it just goes where you point it. Ford did an excellent job on the ride and handling. It's the best vehicle I've driven on corrugated dirt roads.
I remember seeing one at multiple car shows in 04? When they first came out. But the one I'm thinking of was lowered.
there are a few in existence
CAPA in SA had one not long after the terry got realised. It had a centri blower and was on GT struts. Sat on the ground. Looks hilarious
Yes people, there was a Barra V8 too, not related in any way to the 6cyl though.
Haha was waiting for this
@@RossReviewsau I'm surprised how many people weren't aware!
They just sound way better
@@RossReviewsauYes only the 220kw 3v was named Barra👍
Own one and have always wondered why they didn't do a V8, seems to suit it very well. Also, congrats on getting close to 40k!
They should have eh pat! Yes so close I’m gonna have to film something special🤔
probably to suit consumers who just wanted little cans to drive around in , as the car industry was moving towards little cars and the market was not not there
Those sohc 3V motors had nice torque, its stupid how Ford didn't fit them to the territory and station wagon Falcon/Fairmont
Ikr... They could've also had a Turbo Wagon as well
@@MartinJones123 The 3V's make SIGNIFICANTLY more power if you derestrict the exhaust and intake. Big power increases for little investment. They use the 6 cyl exhaust and intake pipes
Also crazy efficient. My cousin has a G8 Fairlane with the 6 speed and it gets 7.0L/100km on highway at 110km/h.
@@jamesrichardson645 Maybe, if you only do exhaust mods, but the I6 is better for modifications
@@MartinJones123 The V8's get heaps of power with an exhaust and intake mod, because these parts were shit from the factory. The Turbo I6's will technically make more power with a turbo. I think if you are wanting to spend big bucks, the I6 will net you more power just because the block is stronger, but on the cheap, the V8's can get a larger bump in power from factory, whilst still being as fuel efficient as the straight 6's.
Awesome revie, BTP Motor sport did a fantastic conversion. Back in the mid 2000s Furntree Gully Auto Salvage did a few conversion also, don't know if they did an Awd a search on Ford forums should get some results.
They seem really great I’m hoping to review some more creations from them soon!
Ferntree Gully Auto also did an ex- Telstra, Red B series wagon with Typhoon drivetrain- the build was on Ford Forums Oz
Nicely done!
Territorys are great cars.
I've had a 2011 limited edition SY2 RWD since new.
Very nice!
This is wicked! But they should have used a Ghia, thr ghia looks so much better than the ts/tx especially in an SY
I agree but could have been hard to find a RWD Ghia in the price range and year, I did notice that someone has done the nose upgrade to SY2 and wonder if they also done the lower ball joints
I have heard there are more around here so I’ll try n get my hands on some more
A coyote or Miami swapped facelift Territory would be awesome. With tdci badges on the back still.
mate a MIAMI in this!!! now thats a Territory!
there is a fella doing a Miami swapped one in the ford forums. Not sure where he's up to though
They were to busy dumping V8 explorers on us with no aftermarket support still can't get parts unless from the states it's just it would of been nice if ford had done a ba bf 5'4 ltr overhead V8 wagon glad they didn't keeps the value on mine being factory v8 Au wagon an last of the line well S3 was but still there a rare car in there own
If only eh🥲🥺 V8 wagon would have been so good
You mentioned “it’s not AWD anymore”. Most Territory’s were RWD only and those that were optioned with AWD had an AWD badge next to the side indicator on the guards so I don’t think this car was ever an AWD in the first place.
Tbh I’m not sure but they told me they changed all the driveline n running gear.. the person who built it wasn’t there
They charged him extra to 'make' it a RWD🤣🤣🤣👍
Yup I'm familiar with the Territory.
Always hitting with a hammer to get going.
I'm always under mine hitting the starter motor plug.
🥲🤣🤣
There were a few Boss 260 v8 conversions done when they were new, but not factory.
Would love to see a Boss in one
Video premieres at exactly beer o clock 🍻
cheers mate
I know you're not an Aussie so I won't be too critical, but the V8 isn't a Barra motor. Only the 6 cyl is the Barra motor straight 6.
The turbo diesel was a 3L V6
There is such a thing as a Barra V8 you can look it up
Quality content as always mate keep it up 👍🏻 looking at getting a 03 boss 260 1tonner who would be the best guys in Perth to take it to for someone to have a look over tia
Appreciate it nate! Look over it mechanically? Hmm not sure who’s the best sorry
I love it but why didn't they use the boss V8 with a blower? The 3 valve dinosaur in there seems alot of effort for what it is.
i think it was done for towing and fuel efficiency i was told???
Top stuff, great idea an now everybody wants a territory again ,
I want one like this🙌
Every time I open a car mag now and these great Aussie cars are absent I wonder where we went wrong. I still drive Aussie but they’re getting less common by the day. Truly sad. Thanks Ross, great video.
Built cars that no one wanted and quality wasn't upto Japanese levels, simple as that. The stigma attached to their buyers also kept the general public away. The other cars within the brands were so terrible that no one wanted to be associated with the brand - think Cruze for Holden and the Focus DSG for Ford. Ross needs to read up on the history a bit...
It’s a crying shame phil.. lots of people were turned off of the Aussie cars early on n if they only had of experience the later cars I think it would have changed a lot of peoples tunes..
Check out the Lima Declaration. It will explain clearly that Australia’s manufacturing will be reduced to dust…literally, we’re just gonna dig holes and sell dirt. They were making HQ Holdens when this plan was put into action.
The whole bs story of no one’s interested in big rear wheel drive Aussie sixes and eights was drummed into the public by the motoring media, add to that free trade agreements all over Asia then you have the demise of the Aussie car.
Still see a few in country towns where Aussie cars make sense.
Aussie cars helped magazine sales. Not sure if magazines always tried to help Aussie car sales though.....
With no more Aussie cars, plus the online car sights now prevalent, I think Wheels will eventually follow Motor to extinction ☹️
Having owned a V8 Ford Explorer, it'd have drank a bunch between trips to the servo 😅😅
apparently this is less thirsty than the NA Barra?? i'm not sure tho just what they told me lol
Your exploder would have also been a 4.6lt maybe eve without VCT too???
this is a 5.4lt 3v with VCT so more torque it’s literally a truck engine from the F-series truck
Beauty of a Rig that! nice swap
Really nice swap
Would be interesting if FoMoCo did a V8 version of the current VW derived Everest.
It would be so damn cool! Even give us a performance one with the new twin turbo raptor motor
Sooo, this now needs 4 valve heads, a 9 inch rear end and be turned into a 4x4.
👌👌👌👌
Im sure there were XR8 engined versions as well that were built called "Terrortory", as they had the XR8 bonnet hump grafted on to.
Dunno if it was BPT or such who did it
there was one in Street Machine many years ago built by a place in Murray Bridge I think. It had a Supercharged Xr8 motor, only external change (from memory) was a set of nice wheels..........and it was Black. The article called it the Terrortory (or similar)
THAAAAANK YOU SO MUCH 🤣🤣🤣 I brought a fairmont v8 ba it has this engine I know/knew nothing about it
she's a Fairmont 3V Barra V8
7.4 secs not bad. Any idea what exhaust system they used? Were there any mods done on the engine side? Intake?
Ah just saw a quick shot of the engine bay. Has the BPT pipe. Nice.
i think it's basically stock from my knowledge of it.. not sure the owner didnt swap it himself (bought as is)
Sorry but i have a turbo ghia stock everything bar exhaust debung double the psi. 250 for flashbox 250 for tune. Does low 5s 0 to 100. Handles better then 2014 sq5 tfsi. Has awd. Turbo barra can be max moded to 1000hp or more. Cheapest mod is springs and fuel injectors and debung factory exhaust better breathing.
I agree having a V8 in a territory would have been a great novelty but I got a Barra 195 in my 2012 SZ Territory Titanium and it pushes it along quite nicely. Fair enough the little extra punch and a great V8 exhaust note would have been better for those rev head dad's who needed a large family car and a sports car in 1.
Drop a 6sp manual conversion into it and throw in a supercharger haha
offf now we are talking
Good review Ross.
Thank you kindly
My bf barra territory got 195kw on the inline 6 motor NA stock , it now has been rebuilt with a 998kw atomic kit with 14.3mm headstuds, cost me $14,000aud including the vehicle ( $2500aud 145,000kms with no problems and road legal )
I have the btr 4 speed with 4.11 ratio truetrac diff and 250hp nos shot....
Would shìt all over the v8 barra, and I haven't installed my vortech v15 supercharger yet....
Looks well done. But why not just do the xr6 turbo Barra up. Any one can get at least 750 HP out of a xr6
True but some people just love that V8 rumble
Found the link to this review in his for sale add.
20k is not to bad for it really.
Is it for sale that’s a fair price
@@RossReviewsau yeah mate.. its on gumtree atm
if i had the coin it would be in my driveway next to my honda 😄
very nice, the engine bay looks like it came from the factory. i mean that in a good way, of course. i have a stock BA G220 and the engine bay isn't that neat. but i do love it. it's a keeper. anyone tell me, roughly how much torque and power can the all wheel drive Territory drive line handle and anything space wise to stop you from dropping a 32V Boss 290 into it? i could use electric power steering pump for a little more room. maybe electric air-con as well?
Gr8 find, now find a territory with a 2K barra and review that.
Next mission 😎
ford should have done this but instead make it a trackhawk hunter so awd supercharged 5.8L V8 800hp
Just imagine! This is what I was getting at
Terri Tree not Terri Tory, been over this mate haha
I call it Terri Tory, like it's supposed to be called lol
all of us pronounce territory as terri tory
you should know by now i pronounce everything wrong HAHA
"Terror Tree" that is how it's pronounced in Straya. 💯 %
Great Video I Have got a 2012 Ford Territory TX Diesel AWD and would I able to put a 3.6 V8 Diesel in a SZ Territory TDCI AWD
HOW GOOD WOULD THAT BE
Might be a dumb question but why didn't you go with the 6 speed auto box ?
Not sure why they went the 4spd, think it was stronger for towing and that’s what they built for
Only ghias &turbo got zf but that 1 is and was a btr but a cool concept version.
There was 1 in the 2000s street fords magazine featured 1 with a boss 290 conversion look it up .
Cheers for that info I wasn’t sure! Now that would be a better swap eh
Yeah mate it was a cool build.
If memory serves me it was Whipple super charged low big wheel s and I think xr8 bonnet bulge. Look it up I'm sure it was street fords magazine...
My mate has a Ford Territory 4.O na 6cyl AWD and it has ZF 6 Speed auto from factory so it wasn't just the Ghia and turbo versions that got the ZF 6 Speed auto.
Back in 06/07 there was a base tx model from memory that had ghia trim fitted inside and the boss 290 under the hood that went through the ford dealer only auction system back then I think the apprentices built it? Pretty sure it sold in the low $20000. Also AWD version from 06 all had 6speed transmission.
@@victorpeirce4753thats right mate i got one o6 awd
Great cars I've owned two from new, but a V8 would have been interesting.
It is interesting eh
Friend had one of these cars plus 4 for parts in the back yard. Sure ford could have but they were more interested in quitting Australian manufacturing and getting govt handouts at the time.
Now lets see an AWD Falcon bases on Territory chassis…
I want 😮💨🇦🇺
@@RossReviewsau Imagine an AWD FG XR6 Turbo??
I want one of those.
There was a lot of shit Ford Australia should of done but didn't
To true 🥲
Seems to be an original RWD. Only SY and SY2 AWD Territory models came with the ZF.
It wouldn't sell. The Territory turbo wasn't a big seller.
Ford did the right thing developing the diesel, they needed to get it out sooner though.
Ford killed the Turbo model due to later emission stanards they had to comply with.
They should have put the diesel eco boost in the Falcon as well rather than the 4 cyl petrol variant.
I reckon a V8 would of had a better chance at selling here then the turbo to be honest
@@morantaylor I guess but Ford Australia had the same problem they always had: not enough money. They did not have the proper support of Ford HQ in Detroit IMO, at least not for these projects, though they have much better funding for their work designing the Ford Ranger these days I believe. If only they had they had the proper development funding for Falcon and Territory as global cars that Ford would also build in North America for the North American market (Territory instead of that god awful North American Ford Edge/Ford Endura...).
Not much power increase for all that extra displacement.. 4.0L to 5.4L... sounds pretty slow but not just because of the less gears... Id much prefer an XR6T engine but slap a bigger turbo on and bigger intercooler and a couple of race cams..
As a person that knows the owner of this v8 territory. He also owns a Barra turbo territory that has all the mods and pushing just over 560HP he just wanted one of both worlds 😂
What's the origin of you Maori tamoko bro? Big fan of your videos btw

That’s so good but Barra is better

Yeh In that area 😅
i had an xr8 manual v8 falcon and a teritory and i can tell you a v8 terry would have blown everything else away...
They absolutely should have
I wish they’d done a more souped up version of the Barra Territory personally. 👍🏻
The Territory Turbo, the cool F6X
i wanted a V8!
They did.
I know they did, but I’d have loved to see an FPV iteration of the last generation of the Territory towards the end. 👍🏻
@@deputycartman Yeah, agreed... That gen was too much of a soccer mums car
Because the turbo I6 was better in every way except for the sound.
Barras are great no doubt
Need more substance in the review. The motor chosen for the conversion is the 3 valve which had a lot of problems with spark plugs and oiling the variable cam timing. The obvious pick for a conversion like this would have been the Boss 260/290 from the XR8 or FPV. Those engines did not have any of the problems that the 3 valve had other than the early engines pre 2005 experiencing chain tensioner failure.
A review should give some meat like was the original K Frame used and what sort of tailshaft was it stock , etc .
the new owner didn't build it.. no build sheet.. i'm not a mechanic.. just stated the obvious in this review.. wasn't to detailed
not Barra V8, it's "Boss V8" Barra was reserved for the 6 cylinder, a quick bit of history for you about the "Boss" 5.4 it isnt actually based on the Modular 3v found in America but it's based on the Mustang Cobra 'R' 5.4 (engine blocks were made differently) and Ford Australia made their own heads/cam/intake! its actually an interesting story!
Actually the 3 valve V8 was called the Barra V8 by Ford and the Boss name was reserved for 4 valve engines only.
@@Mikki_Tu i did not know that, i thought the 3v From the Fairmont was simply called the modular V8
@@Mikki_Tu you are correct, i thought this was an XR8 engine swap not a Fairmont V8 engine swap my bad
Barra 3v V8 its not a boss engine. Also the boss engines are modular v8's not the barra or Fairmont V8.
Can assure you it’s a Barra V8 not the BOSS.. I didn’t explain the build the best as the original owners who built it didn’t really leave much paperwork on what had been done so I was a bit lost in the dark but definitely a 3V V8 out of a Fairmont of somekind
There is a reason they were a hit they were Powerful and reliable unlike if the put a V8 in it
i still would like a V8 Terry.. imagine a Miami one
If that had 4.10 lsd it'd pull flat 7s high 6s 0-100
that 3v engine has timing chain problems from factory.
and low oil pressure.
the spark plugs are about $90 each
and the original spark plugs snap while you're trying to remove the plugs.
ford could have made that engine great BUT ford didn't.
shitty motor in a shitty car just makes sence
It wasn't so much Ford Australia's fault, these engines were pretty similar to the Triton V8's in America, which also had similar issues which is probably why these 5.4's can be picked up for nothing
HAHAHA RIP :(
Looks good mate I hate to point out details there’s no such thing as a Barra V8
the Barra is short for barramundi and it relates to the Aussie straight six cylinder only…..
the 5.4 L V8 is a modular V8 and the term modular refers to the production line that comes from meaning each station on the production line is modular and they can switch between V8 and sixes and fours and back to V8‘s at random……
By the way I’ve got a 5.4 L modular eight in my Fairlane not a bad motor but it has a shopping list of problems none the least of which is trying to get the spark plugs out
but if you put clean oil in them every three or 4000 km you should be right…….
Now that I think about it if I had the motor out and I was about to put it in a territory while it’s out I would upgrade the timing chain and associated gear and put a high volume high-pressure oil pump in it from melling……
The 5.4 L is a crate motor I think it’s made in Windsor Canada…..
Yes this was called a barra v8 code name as it us a 3 v engine
@@daviddench4036 ohhhhh ok - I thought it was basically the same as what they used in the F-Series and in the USA they call it the Triton three valve
we basically have that motor here
I thought it was just called the modular I’m pretty sure reading google articles Barra was the code name for the Australian designed and cast six cylinder which is a bloody good motor
@@thewholls7176 yes you are right about it being for the barra 6 of cores but they did name the non boss v8 barra as well .PS yes it basically the same as the us 3v without the cam fasers issues they the us one's had as it has no vct
If U put clean oil every 3000-4000km? That's how often U should put fuel.
Ford should have made a V8 territory from factory
they really should have eh
@@RossReviewsau would have been sick tho
I want this car...
Very cool eh
O yes..@@RossReviewsau
AWD.V8 would be perfect
That would have been nice
Yep, ford back then should have, rather than that diesel shit. Overall the Territory such as BA to FG range hasn't aged well. Nor have Holdens from that vintage either.
Sadly not but still iconic cars.. the later model territory’s were pretty nice
Very cool. Still got the diesel v6 and what a great drive. If it came out in barra, oh man!
Imagine eh 🥵
Stock territory barra turbo makes 245kw.
Turbo territory’s are great
The turbocharged Barra made the V8 less appealing, than it might have been.
Still a lot of people back then we’re V8 or nothing.. look at the B series GT vs typhoon
should of kept AWD and ZF :(
Holden has no such car as turbo ghia barra. Not even close. Pay 1000k get the center display in digital with cams gps carplay keep the power
how much would u say all that was?? in $
idk
Particularly a hit for the aboriginal communities.
Probably lol good cars 😉
Why the Barra is a Better Engine
If ya like stuff that sounds like shit nothing compares to the Rumble of a sweet V8 an at the end of the day spending just as much the V8 would would be showing that 6 a set of tail lights
An Barras are over rated an nothing all that special
@@davidmackieson4609 they're not over rated the just sound like shit
It’s hard to beat a Barra lol but I still appreciate a nice sounding V8
Shit part about that is my turbo makes 250kw with 14psi and a punched out exhaust
No point of the v8
It’s more for the sound I guess
@@RossReviewsau yeah, I mean from a tuning and financial point, easy and cheaper to mod the 6 for power, I wouldn’t say no to a v8 variant, kinda makes more sense
Nice
I dont care what anyone says, SUV suck, give me a fast wagon any day, i dont care who makes it, or what engine it has, SUV's suck.
Slight correction, the V8's were named Boss not Barra. The I6 are the Barra engines
This is a Barra V8 and a Boss V8 👍🇦🇺
so some random you tube self appointed guru knows better than FORD thats been around for over 120 years
You don’t agree?
WTF is a Barra v8 Ross reviews ? Credibility?
Look it up.. it’s called a Barra V8 😂
I own a V6 territory, and it's the worst car I've ever bought. All the switches are broken, the windows short circuit (flattening the battery), and it eats tailshaft bearings on a monthly basis. And at every speed, it sounds like it's constipated. Don't buy one.
Forgot to mention the starter motor plug falls off regularly, causing regular break downs.
Oh no what a massive failure !! The only reason the territories are good is the barra.
I think they could have done a performance V8 suv
200kw at the wheels out of 5.4 litres is incredibly shit. Also it is pronounced Tare-i-tree
It’s got a great sound tho
0:32 "Barra V8"??? Sorry, there's no such thing.
Yes there is 😅
