  • Today is our 29th wedding anniversary. We have always loved this show, and we catch ourselves shifting from Ray and Debra to Frank Marie. I cropped this advice out, because it is so true.

    Marie’s line starting at 0:38-mark, “You’re newlyweds. You’re in love. God bless you, you know nothing” is one of my favorite lines in this

    One of the best speeches in the whole series. 'Marie, how can there be hate in a marriage?' 'You make room.'

      Totally disagree this was a dangerous scene the narrative here is brainwashing garbage , her speech was hot feces , the writers wanted the audience to believe her marriage was good str8 up joke, Frank and Maries marriage was toxic asf those marriages are no bueno and dont last! Rays was just as bad , Amy and Robert had the best Marriage , lets think about it Amy bought a book to become a better wife(she bought a book to improve herself tht alone is amazing shes being accountable and taking her marriage seriously, let that sink in (women are usually allergic to accountability) shes also very feminine supportive and knew her place as a woman and respected her husband as the Man .....its disgusting and diabolical how they made Ray say Roberts marriage doesnt have a chance to make ppl think toxicity is the way

    If you compare Frank and Marie with Debra's parents who got divorced you see the wisdom of this scene. Frank and Marie are honest with each other and this means they don't have real resentment. They get it all out in the open. Now I would only add that though there is fighting in marriage, the couple must make sure they fight fair.

    • @hutch1197
      @hutch1197 6 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      That came up in an earlier season when Debra's parents were in counseling. It was the first time they noticed why Frank and Marie's marriage worked.

    Even though Marie always drove me up the wall with her constant nagging and controlling, she actually makes good points in this! Anger and fighting are completely normal in marriage, to certain extent of course...but it’s true though you have to accept the fact that marriage isn’t easy, yes couples fight and argue all the time! My parents do it and when they do I think they’re the most immature people on the face of the earth! But at the end of the day they forgive and forget! That’s marriage in a nutshell

    Fact on What marriage relationship is. One man one woman. faithfulness honesty trust, loyalty, understand, respect, equal, believing in each other. There no such thing of a perfect marriage.
    really there going be fighting, yelling, don't fight it accept it. There are times when you can't stand each other then there times, when you hate each other and there are times, when you love each other. People get upset because they think there something wrong with that but it all normal. Its human nature all relationship are that way.
    People who are looking for a perfect relationship are chasing a fanasty. If people want a real relationship people need to accept the ups and downs in life.
    If only My ex knew that he would see things differently instead of looking for perfect in every person because there no such thing ever person has flaws things they have to go through no on life is perfect if other try to make seem that way.
    Just because you fight it doesn't mean you love the person any less.

    Frank and Marie legends

  • @phan643
    @phan643 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I actually think Marie and Frank have the best and most realistic marriage of all the couples.
    They fight but it's pretty much an even playing field , they constantly roast each other and get everything especially the unpleasant out in the open , whereas Debra often resents Ray and uses sex or the promise of sex to manipulate him , and he comes up with schemes and keeps things from Debra , like his planning to go on a golfing trip.
    He tends to lie quite a lot to her to get what he wants.
    And with Robert and Amy , she manipulates him with her tears , and he in turn is very whipped and codependent , and both have trouble openly discussing issues without resorting to passive agreession.
    Ray is kinda whipped too lol.
    Yeah Marie and Frank's marriage is the best one by far , raw , real and full of love underneath the theatrics.

    Robert thought it was a good idea to give marital advice to Raymond and Debra but not to Frank and Marie. Well, he knew it wouldn't be because he knew THIS would happen. But Robert and Amy haven't even made it to their 1 year anniversary, yet so they don't have any right or experience for it. Well, technically Robert has more experience than Amy because this is actually his second marriage and it's Amy's first.

    Marie is so out of line. She thinks just because she's survived that hell of a marriage that she's somewhat of an expert and that because it somehow worked for her, that THIS is how marriages are. I don't care that they love each other, I would never want a marriage like that! I also hate how it's always been typcal the man who is the jerk and the woman who has to endure when in real life it's often the other way around!

    Marital advice is not the kind of advice you should give unless people ask you for it, first. Other people's marriages are none of your business.

      That's what set off Marie, because Robert (and Amy) was showing off "how it's done" to Ray and Debra. They were even going to give advice to Frank and Marie
