No. I don't know who the talented young GUYS are, in Generation Z. I know of one--Oscar Lang. I'm more familiar with the talented young LADIES--child-prodigy singer Jackie Evancho, her friend, the great young songwriter (what a song poet!💓), Anna Graceman. And young country-pop princess Callista Clark. But otherwise, there are SO MANY teens and children mastering instruments, 12-year-old guitar "shredders," super young bassist Ellen Alaverdyan, age 9, so many it doesn't make sense! There is "WHY do you wanna be a music star? servant of humanity." Nobody seems to think of that, much less answer. Despite the war, here in 2023, I find there are also great young music talents in Russia! You couldn't even imagine that, in the 80s! Folk-metal band GRAI (with lead singer Irina) pack a punch (in Russian language) like 70s Heart! (and they're nice!❤) Olga Glazova, now 33, has popularized her ages-old instrument, the gúsli (lap harp) in numerous Western countries outside Russia, beautiful music from a beautiful lady! 20-year-old Dåsha Volosevich first grabbed Western ears at 13, with her powerful Slavic-pride heavy metal song "N'yehbo Slavan." The internet has made possible a TREASURE-BOX of great music shared by people everywhere, and the governments make war, but the people hear each other's music and love each other. I'm glad for that little. But I'd still love to go back and re-live the 1980s. Everybody loving the 1960s, yeah that was great music in horrible times, too, but I still prefer the 80s.

Who listened to this in high school in 1986 and still here in 2024?
easier to say who didn't listen to it
Me
Hairspray induced greatness. Hairspray thankfully gone, music still with us.
Absolutely! One of the best songs Journey ever made! I miss the 80’s so much!
lol
Probably the best lead singer in rock..one of the best in rock history can really belt it out..
Going to a Journey concert back in the day ruined all other concerts because NO ONE sounded as good live as they did, especially on vocals!
Absolutely
When I'm in a mind F--k I turn this on and just rolll..... masterpiece
Steve Perry is the best vocalist of all time. What a gift to grow up with his music throughout high school and college and beyond! Thanks Steve Perry and the band!!
I agree with you on that 💯
This is how you pull off a superior vocal performance without the assist of dubbing, additional singers and auto tune. No need for any nonsense. Just pure talent. The stren of Perry’s voice is unmatched.
On another note, it’s so refreshing to see people simply enjoying a concert without every imbecile recording the show on their iPhones
I agree 100% with everything in this comment!!!
❤
Could not have said any better, brother.
I was there in the audience, I can't believe the energy up on stage. Journey Rocks! STILL!
What an honor that must have been to see one of the greatest bands ever live in their prime.
I was at the Hampton Coliseum 1992 tour. What a great great show
I saw them in 83 while tripping. Pure Magic.
I was born in 92 but I grew up on this kind of music because my adopted parents where older. An I totally agree with my parents that newer music is absolutely trash
Was this performed in the Bay Area/Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View?
Randy Jackson killing it!
Rarely do I love the live version of a favorite song, but this is so much better than the studio version. They absolutely killed it!
Yes, this live version sounds incredible and just like the vinyl version👌
You should also give a listen to their outdoor, stadium live version of Send Her My Love. Mesmerizing.

I will never get tired of listening to Journey
Same here ❤
Oh man. Me too! My 20-year-old asks if I’ll ever get tired of them…. Nope. Way past that point. They are just that good!
Possibly my all time favorite Journey song because of the amazing harmonies.
Mine too luv Perry
They are truly amazing.
I agree!!!
I love listening to him sing.something about his voice
Fantastic opening to an awesome album ❤️❤️
Ohhhh those jeans 🔥
Steve Perry was born to do this. The BEST!!!!!!!!
OH brother! For sure! Someone finally said what I was thinking.. HE WAS BORN to do this.. I wish he knew that. I will wait anxiously for new album in December 2020..
Yes sirrrrr!!
@@nancyperry2386 where's the album??? Live in the Neon Babylon don't count!!
Some were born to sing the blues..
This is a real concert! Saw this concert at the Capital Center, October 23, 1986. tickets were $16.50 and feel so blessed this was the real music I grew up with! XO
I saw journey in Ventura California along with Billy Squire in 1985.my tickets were only $12.50 each. I really miss the 70s/80s..life was great then😎✌️
@@RexHill-yn6os Since that post, I have torn the basement up looking for the ticket stubs. Yes! It was Billy Squire, "In The Dark".
@@RexHill-yn6os Yes, life was simple and freer. It's almost mindless, in a way that we were closer connected. Maybe it was all of the amazing music we grew up to?
Damn! I still get chills listening to this! I think every female teenager in the 80’s was in love with Steve Perry! Seeing them live in 83 was absolutely magical! I wish I could go back and do it again!
I was not in love with Steve Perry (I still love love Journey to this day no matter what) I was too busy being in love with fresh faced boys of Duran Duran and certain cute boys from the movie The Outsiders back then😀❤️😀❤️ like Rob Lowe Tom Cruise and Matt Dillon😀❤️😀❤️
@@80sDECADEshouldNEVERLEFT One of my favorite groups… then and still to this day. Brings back so many memories to listen to ANY music from when I was younger. And sometimes makes me long for being back in those days. But just like me, and these musical groups we are ALL getting older. I gotta remember that. Lol
I agree with you. I think Steve Perry was at his absolute best right here. What great times the 80s were!
I was in love with Steve Perry in the 80's and I still am❤❤❤😍😍😍😍. I saw this tour live in 1987.❤😍. You're right Gina, wish I could go back and do it again!!!!!!!!. Love Journey and Steve Perry. Journey is not the same without him!!!!!
Yeah I saw them in 83! One of the top ten shows ever.
This song came out six months after my husband passed away. We were together 12 years and we had a great marriage. Unfortunately, he passed way too young.! The song reminds me of him every time I happen to hear it revisited over the years. What a beautiful tune. 🙏🏻
We're all so sorry for your loss! God bless you! I hope the rest of your life is wonderful! XO!
No violence, great hair, real singing...
Man I hate today's music. And your right, Steve's hair did look very cool! And only one voice like that, Steve Perry.
Steve's ROR hair was the best!! Still makes me crazy! I was able to see many Steve Perry Journey live shows. I was even lucky enough to meet him in 1983. He was very nice.
They sound so damn good live. Its unreal, but steve perry could bring it, hes legit
Steve Perry one of the very best male vocalists - ever. An incredible talent. God bless him .
One of the greatest songs of all times and Steve Perry Is off the charts. His voice is amazing. I’m 52 and still madly in love with Steve Perry and Journey.
Me too
Amen!
Steve is the best singer ever!! Entire band is spot on. So lucky we had them in there hay day, still the best in 2023. Never get tired of their songs. Chills forever!!!
me three
I’m 56 and the only Journey songs I listen to have the best male vocalist Steve Perry rocking it
Back in the day when you didn’t have to look at the back of somebody’s hand holding a cell phone. Plus real musicians
No but you did have that one guy waving his crutch in the air
Can’t stand that!!! I find myself not having very many memories of things because I hate to keep my phone out. I take a few pics so I always have that memory of being there and then I enjoy the show. That’s it.
Hate today’s world
Cell phones ruined a lot of things. People can't just enjoy live entertainment now without a distraction. It disgusts me.
@@ss_whole Isn't that the craziest thing you've ever seen??
Nothing but epic. Real music really played and sung. No cell phones ruining the amazing vibe in the crowd. Hardworking band and Steve Perry at his best. Nothing but epic.
He sings PERFECTLY live as he would in a studio. Incredible. Will there ever be another Steve Perry? It's 2023...waiting.
Come on man,
Steve Perry is beautiful in this video as always! ❤
Happy 75th Birthday Steve Perry!
75? Damn! Bless him.🎉👌
This is one of the most underrated albums of the 80's I used to listen to it all of the time, there is not one bad song on it.
Pure BS. It was rated #4 in the US Billboard Top 200.
I also liked "once you love somebody".💕🩷🎶
Randy Jackson is such an entertainer and pretty mean on the bass also. Back in the good old days.
OH MY GOD !! THIS IS MY FAVORITE LIVE IN CONCERT JOURNEY VIDEO !! THAT VOICE !! THAT HAIR !! THOSE TAILS !! THOSE MOVES !! FADED JEANS !! THAT SMILE !! THE GLISTEN OF SWEAT ON HIS FACE !! UM....EXCUSE ME...there's something I gotta do .................................😉 Not sorry... This Girl Can't Help It 😋
i agree A GIRL CANT HELP IT!!!!!!!!!!!
DITTO...! ZACKLY RIGHT!!!!
Steve Perry’s voice is pure gold and was SO handsome
I AGREE 10000%
Alright now, Ms Christy .... handle your business LOL!!
