Frank Turek is fast becoming my go-to guy when it comes to issues of faith. Love the logical approach he uses to teach.
Christainity : it's all about belief, you don't need to understand. The bible is God's words that's why it's complex.
Jesus is not a God; He's a prophet and a messenger of God.
Simply, if you believe in Trinity (The father, the son and the holy spirit), either you believe that there is 3 gods or you believe that they're one entity.
If there is 3 gods, then Jesus said in (Mark 12:29) and (Deuteronomy 6:4) The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one."
If you believe that they're the same entity (ONE GOD who is "Jesus"), then you mean the father = the son = the holy spirit.
Then we have 3 co-eternal gods, existing side by side. Simple maths...Pagan Polytheism
- Bible says Jesus will be sitting on the right seat to God (Mark 16:19). This visually makes it more than 1 God!
- How can God foresake Himself? "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matt 27:46, Mark 15:34)
- God is invisible to humans on earth, this rules Jesus out as people saw and touched him;
• "Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen (1 Timothy 1:17).
• "Then the Lord spoke to you from the midst of the fire; you heard the sound of words, but you saw no form-only a voice" (Deuteronomy 4:12).
• "And the Father who sent Me, He has borne witness of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form” (John 5:37).
• "But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. (Matthew 24;36)
- There is no direct mention of trinity by God nor Jesus in the gospels except ambiguous statements. Trinity is debated amongst Christians and was only made formal by the nicean creed....even today there are plenty of Christians who reject trinity as going against the fundamental teaching of the Old Testament, that God is 1. In fact gospels have verses contradicting trinity;
- Now this is eternal life: THAT THEY KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17)
- The title "Christianity" also cannot b traced back to God nor jesus. Acts 11 mentions it; And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. So what was Jesus's followers called before? This is enough evidence that jesus did not preach christianity. Jesus says he was "sent only to the lost sheep of Israel" (matthew15;24), and he did not come to abolish the Law (matthew 5;17)...so Jesus came to preach nothing new to the children of Israel, but only to remind them back to where they deviated... I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven..(matthew 5;20)
A Conclusion : If the bible is the words of God it shouldn't contains contradictions and it should be clear because we are supposed to understand it and follow it.

Yeah so if you look at what I wrote and what you wrote, we should conclude that the bible contradicts itself, it's full of contradictions, and not reliable... So how you can follow something that contradicts itself... You can ignore this fact ofcourse if you want, it's your choice anyway.

Jesus clearly claimed he was the Son of God, born of a virgin via the power of God's Spirit. He also clearly communicated with His disciples that when he departed he would leave them the Holy Spirit. By my count that is three, yet all are one. Just because our finite human minds cannot fathom this mystery should not surprise us. God is a great God who is capable of anything that is within His nature. Who on earth are we to doubt the maker of the heavens and earth. Are we really that arrogant? I would hope not.
I transitioned from cynical Atheist to believer based on the clear and concise evidence within the Word of God. The fact that God would send His Son to die for me is an unfathomable act of love. My God is a God of love and grace and my words and life are in place to honor him. Praise be to Jesus. the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

They're three but same entity and at the same time independants of each other,
- The son was praying to the father who's also the son so he was praying to himself.
- The son who is the father also don't have the knowledge of the father (eg: the hour).
- The Father who is the son is greater than son....
By claiming we can't understand what God told us, you're saying God is illogical.
Jesus didn't even say "I am a God, worship me", why you're lying on this Prophet pbuh.
You just went from something weak (atheism) to another weak thing (Worshiping a man).
I think you're a man of science and knowledge so read and do some research...you can even do research about other religions (reading their scriptures)...it's better to do some effort, before it's too late (death) right ?

ps; without the help of Holy Spirit, it will be impossible for u to even comprehend the Bible. Unless u truly seek the Lord, but if u read to try to disprove it, ur bound to fail. The Words of The True God cant fail.
last year i "stepped away" from the Lord and questioned Jesus adamantly - nothing vocally but in my mind. It was in my mind only but it was serious enough where I began to HATE Christianity. the devil started putting things into my mind that I was the Messiah, and that I was born to die for the world. it got to a point where i was going absolutely nuts (as you can imagine), couldn't sleep, losing weight like crazy, bumps and scabs all over my skull, etc. I was also having supernatural experiences like crazy (not good ones). I can't even begin to explain the agony that i was going through. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemies.
One night, when I barely fell asleep Jesus came to my "dream" all bloodied up and yelled at me, "I f'in died for you!" meaning why don't you use my Name to save yourself. He was basically implying that "is your ego so big that you would go through this and not except his death of salvation?" I immediately woke up and asked the Lord for forgiveness...Everything started turning for the better since then. Jesus is real and satan is real. One thing I can tell you, if you even just say the name of Jesus, demons flee instantly. Everything I said here is real.

Frank Turek came to where I live not too long ago and did his “I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist” speech at our local college. I couldn’t believe how Spirit filled the man was. It made the hair stand up on my body.
If there wasn’t a God that made me feel so strongly about that speech, then I wouldn’t have felt that way. Because moist Robots can’t feel that way.

@@AL-FATTAH_servant Jesus is the Messiah, not just a prophet. Jesus is a form of God. The holy trinity teaches that there are three forms of God, the omnipresent, the flesh (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit.

This is a really inspiring and clever, intelligently spent time in conducting this interview. It is profound truths made easy to swallow ! 43 minutes well spent ! Dr. Frank Turek is a great teacher ! He has a great sense of humour, too.

Frank is one of the best spokesmen for the Lord and Christ. Everytime he speaks, he explains things in the most perfectly intelligent and understandable way. He uses logic, scientific/historical evidence, and great reason to settle these disputes. He has a way of proportionally explaining things to each level of understanding, which just makes so much sense. He’s the reason why I truly believe in God and the Lord and savior Jesus Christ now. I was too far in the world and used my own logic and self desire to understand things how I want to. But Dr. Turek has compelled me more than any atheist or Christian scientist and/or historian. He’s a great teacher to us who want the TRUTH.
You should email him and tell him that. He would be very encouraged.
Yes. He has translated the word of God for many open ears. Let's try to remember that the things we believe will sound like foolishness to non-believers. So even if Dr turek is very gifted in his ability to translate certain things to the masses.... The mysteries of the kingdom of God are beyond all of us according to scripture.
The definition of the Trinity might be beyond our ability to explain.
Some of these things we just have to feel. If Dr Frank has opened up the hearts to his listeners then he is a great and wonderful tool for the Gospel. And if he should ever fail then we are grateful that he held the line.

I have spoken with many Christians and each has their own way of understanding things such as whether Jesus is God or not.
Some have told me that he is God and not a man, some have said that he is God and man at the same time, some have said that he is only a man and not a God, some have said that 'he is a man but when he ascended to heaven he became God by receiving the glory of his father, and some have it that he is a prophet and not a God, some have said that he has one nature, of others have said that he has two natures ...
TOTAL CONFUSION and yet, according to the bible, God is not confusion!

This phrase was repeated almost word for word, some 1500 years later, by Jesus, when he said:
“This is the most important commandment: Hear, Israel, the Lord is our God, He is the only God. "(Mark 12:29)
Muhammad was sent by God about 600 years later to convey the same message:
“Your God is one God. No one is to be worshiped except Him, the Most Merciful, the Most Merciful. "(Quran 2: 163)

I love this guy! His explanation of slavery is dead on! The Hebrews came into Egypt with basically nothing so entered, pretty much as a whole, into indentured servitude! This also jives with current historians in that the pyramids were built by indentured people and engineered by free, wage earning people and NOT slaves! That's exactly how the glory of God works, if you use the brains that He gave you you can actually find several connections to every proof and they all lead back to God

My dad was deeply agnostic but he said to me often I do believe something made all of this but I don't believe there's a man out there with a white beard sitting on a throne. Religion was discussed often in my house but my mother and I were deep believers and my dad was agnostic and of course after dinner we would try to talk him into God. He was my hero and had the most kind heart I've ever known and he did believe something created all of this so I'm sure he is resting in the arms of the Lord right now.

About personal relation with God. I'd say, after you repent from your sins and lets say it wasnt THAT bad, you have to talk with GOD in spirit, ask questions, ask for anythink, becouse he dont want us to suffer all the time and be like bitten dogs but he gives us strenght for every day . He can take you to timeless place when there are no worries and you can feel heavenly for a matter of time. I personally had this moment, I heard "COME TO ME" in spirit and i went straight away to a prayer, without praying, i just said "Here I am" and he took me somewhere beautifull for half an hour or so. I think that if i ignore this, it wouldnt happen, we have priorities. So Pray and thank HIM every night and ask him for thinks you want and maybe someday something amazing will happen. Amen
Ok I understand and respect your point of view. I studied with with just about every religion I could.Not just read about but actually became part of the religion for anywhere between 8-12mouths. I used to search for God too, but nothing compared to the feeling i had reading new testament, i will never forget it. When I finished reading, it was like a lost of friend, you miss him, dont know how to build a relashionship. Search is never over, he dont want us to die or live without the spark of live, Jesus is Live, path and the Truth. I say, just be faithfull, try and dont expect "Drug" feeling, its more "loosing tension" feeling than a rush. There are more valid reasons to believe in the beginning to real "time" from physics (outside the scope of this thread), but it may be specious to claim that one would never get to "today" if there were not. Just as objects are delimited in space events are delimited in time and could for whatever reason find themselves independently occurring at any point in the timecontent. The question then becomes *what* agency placed them there, and then you're back to an agent outside of time.

In our witness for the Lord, we must make it clear that we are speaking about a Person - Jesus Christ - and not about the Christian religion being superior to other religions. There's a TV series by David Attenborough on at the moment called "Perfect Planet" and it's about how everything works together. I'm not sure of his worldview but the more I watch it the more I'm sure this world was designed
Agree. I have the Blue Planet and Planet Earth series and when I watch them, I can't see "cosmic accident" as a reasonable explanation. That's asking way more faith of me than I have. Divine design much better explains the majesty of creation.

Fair enough - I do think personal experience and observation is a valid form of evidence, the problem is that it is not transmissible. No one else can experience it through you, and people would generally have to be convinced and converted before they would experience that, so other arguments would be needed to get them to that point.

There are many false converts in the church, this is exact what Paul was addressing in his letters to the church. The problem with most people who go to church is that they really don't want God 100%, they want some of God so they can continue in their sin. Most including me in the past see themselves as great people who deserve heaven in stead of seeing themselves as wicked sinners who deserve hell and thus needs God's mercy and grace. I use to believe I was this great person and everyone else as wicked and evil. If someone believes they are a good person, there is no need for a Savior. Salvation is an issue of the heart, God saw your true intentions. You can fool men but you can't fool God.
You were never born again and filled with the Spirit of God. You were practicing religion like the Pharisees whom Jesus told they don't know God though they thought they did. Before I got saved I didn't read the bible so I had no clue how to even be born again. I was suffering depression for years and one night, the pain of it all got so much that I knew I had one last option before suicide. I got on my knees and cried out to God to save me, I told him I surrender my life to him and will do whatever he wants me to if he would save me. I begged and cried for forgiveness of all my sins. In that second suddendly the depression was gone and I had a feeling a peace and joy that I have never experienced. I didn't even know I was born again but I felt like a brand new person. From that day I was able to walk way from sins that had such a stronghold in my life, I tried so many times before to quit but I just couldn't. Things that I use to do no longer interested me anymore, one of those things included drinking. I haven't drank since that night. God then blew my mind and spoke to me audibly, I was both shocked and terrified that the Creator of heaven and earth would speak to such a broken and unimportant person like myself. That was the first and only time he spoke to me audibly.
I have tasted that the Lord is good, not going anywhere. Jesus saving me has been the best thing to happen to me. People always ask why I'm so happy, the peace and joy that Jesus gives us beyond my understanding. No matter what problems I face in this world, this peace and joy remains. Jesus cleaned me up and fixed all of my brokeness. I'm free, Jesus cut the noose that Satan had around my neck, I was dead and now I'm alive. I pray you humble yourself, see yourself as a sinner who needs Jesus grace and mercy. God has been to good to me and when I die I will be with him forever. Hallelujah!

Look at the world around you, bible prophecies are jumping off the pages, things are lining up for the second coming of Jesus. These muslims after having encounteres, filled with Spirit of God know they cannot deny the God who they saw. It's not a God of the gaps argument to say God is the best explanation for the origin of life. Not anymore than it is a naturalism of the gaps argument to claim that we don't know how life arose but there must be a natural explanation for it.
But the main reason it's not a god of the gaps argument is because like Frank said in the video it's an argument from what we do know not an argument from what we don't know. The information coded in the DNA molecule is necessary for any life to sustain itself. We know from our experience that information comes from a mind not from random naturalistic processes. If you search for Dr James Tour you'll find a great video on the origin of life that goes into extreme detail on the scientific improbability and impossibility of inorganic material organizing itself into organic life. By the way Dr Tour is a world renown synthetic chemist and he knows his stuff on this topic.

Trinity is debated amongst Christians and was only made formal by the nicean creed....even today there are plenty of Christians who reject trinity as going against the fundamental teaching of the Old Testament, that God is 1. In fact gospels have verses contradicting trinity;
- Now this is eternal life: THAT THEY KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17)
- The title "Christianity" also cannot b traced back to God nor jesus. Acts 11 mentions it; And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. So what was Jesus's followers called before? This is enough evidence that jesus did not preach christianity. Jesus says he was "sent only to the lost sheep of Israel" (matthew15;24), and he did not come to abolish the Law (matthew 5;17)...so Jesus came to preach nothing new to the children of Israel, but only to remind them back to where they deviated... I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven..(matthew 5;20)
A Conclusion : If the bible is the words of God it shouldn't contains contradictions and it should be clear because we are supposed to understand it and follow it.
Jesus, i pray that you are always with me and always in my my mind, heart and soul. Im a human that is limited in thought and physical strength. But you Lord is not limited in any sense. Thank you for dying on the cross for me and every other person that has breathed the breath of life thanks to you. Please enter everyone's hard heart that doesn't believe in your name and soften their hearts. In the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ I pray, AMEN!!
