    Hello. Great video. Is it possible for easycon to work with 2 applications at once (I have Android and my wife has ios) in the same house?)

    Thanks for the very nice video. We are installing a KNX system in our new house and I would have loved to access it with my Home App or my HomePod with Siri so I was looking for such a device. But I don’t know much about it so I would like to ask you if it is possible to add other items that will be monitored only by HomeKit and not KNX? Or will it be a problem once the bridge is installed?
    Thanks for your help

      @PoseidwnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment! Of course it is possible to add other accessories in Apple HomeKit. With a bridge like Easykon you can add your KNX Devices in HomeKit and then you can add every other accessory that it's compatible with HomeKit like Philips Hue etc.

    Awesome episode. Thanks a lot! Do you know if you can power it with a KNX power supply? (yellow and white wires in the KNX cable)

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment! Easykon requires 12/24 Volts AC/DC power supply. KNX Power Supply's auxiliary output is 30Volts so it cannot be used on Easykon.

      @@PoseidwnTech I wonder if that 6V really make a difference. Have you tried? I mean it’s kind of a bummer that a knx device can’t be powered by a knx standard power supplier. Also an LM7805 should be able to handle that stepping down.

    How does Home Assistant via KNX IP interface compare to this? I would prefer everything to be local. And then use Home Assistant to bridge all the devices to Homekit.

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With Freedompro it is very easy to add KNX devices in Home Assistant (through Freedompro Cloud) and does not require a KNX IP Interface. I believe though that it is better to have everything connected locally so in most of the cases i prefer to add KNX devices in Home Assistant through KNX IP Interface locally. In my opinion it's more secure and more fast!

  •  ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you still need a knx ip interface if you get this easykon?

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the new update EasyKon can work also as a KNX IP Interface!

    Sorry to say that to Easykon, but your bridge is not easy to use as the other bridges. It takes a lot of work and time.
    - I need to identify each address by myself one by one instead of doing that automatically with one click!
    - I need to create rooms on my iPhone then transfer all those accessories to their room one by one instead of doing all that on the website in an easy way.
    - Also, why is the Power Supply not included in the box?
    As usual, you are doing a great job. Amazing video. Thanks, my friend.

      So far i have tested Thinka for KNX, 1 Home Bridge and Easykon and i have used them in my projects before reviewing them. All the devices have pros and cons that maybe someday i will create a video comparing them.
      - I know that the other KNX Bridges pair automatically group addresses with accessories but still you will have to check every accessory one by one to be sure that all group addresses are correctly linked, change the name of the accessory and most of the times and the device type. So i am not sure that i can answer the question which one is the fastest!
      - In all the bridges that i have tested so far i believe that only Thinka for KNX creates the Rooms automatically. I hope that the other two Bridges will follow with a Firmware Update.
      - For me it's not a problem that they didn't include a power supply, because if the power supply is not din rail then in my opinion is useless. But certainly it would be nice the device to could be powered by POE.

      @@PoseidwnTech I didn't say that Easykon is bad, I just said it takes a lot of work and time. I love that Easykon supports IFTTT and Home Assistant.
      - Checking every accessory/address is easier than adding/creating each one by me.
      - I only criticize the bridge to get them to update it. I hope to see that soon. I didn't mean to offend them (sorry).
      - I like to put a socket in the enclosure so the power supply is important for me. Also, I like the idea of POE.
      The comparing video of bridges is a nice idea, hope to see that soon. Thank you.
