That being said Onimusha would be epic on next gen consoles, that series was way ahead of its time in many aspects. It's about as hard as bloodborne I'd say- in general the normal enemies are slightly easier but some of the bosses are considerably harder as they seem to have ridiculous health pools unless you level up well. Great fun though and an absolutely MASSIVE game. Definitely single player focused.
ACG TBH even in Dark Souls & Bloodborne some bosses are really tough while some are easily beatable. This is not essential a bad thing for a game like this.. The devs purposefully used varied difficulty so that the gane won't be too hard to beat.
Russell Dixon you would be wrong. I love it too, but stop trying to deny the souls mechanics. the team themselves said they were heavily inspired by them.

Nah, Microsoft is pulling a Nintendo and leaning towards a side console for the pc rather than a direct competitor which is for the best for xbox and pc.
If they only made those games compatibile with older windows - what they're doing now is just pushing for users upgrading to win 10 where I (and probably other like me) will not do that.

Loved the Souls series, actually enjoyed Lords of the Fallen. Loved all of the Ninja Gaiden games (arcade, nes and xbox). Really wanted to play this after seeing so many positive reviews, but did not have a PS4. Found a deal for a PS4 slim, with Nioh, Dishonored 2, and Infinite warfare (with modern warfare remake) from Newegg for 300 bucks. Needless to say, a purchase was made, and I anxiously await the day of delivery. Then, I saw your review, like 10 minutes after buying it. I am even more stoked now! By the way, your reviews have convinced me on so many game purchases. I greatly appreciate your insight, and the time you take to do these videos!
Be sure to buy Bloodborne. Don't miss this diamond. One of the best games I've ever played and I've been playing since the 80's. Of course, I love Souls so go figure.
i've been gaming since the good ole colecovision days. a hobby that has lessened with age and family, but never ceased. Bloodbourne is a definite. Dark souls 3 i've already smashed on Xbox One. Actually found it to be the easiest out of all four of the main "souls" games. Maybe it's due to each iteration training me for the next?
I hated the Ki system, especially when the enemies put those dark pools on the floor that would prevent you from recharging your Ki unless you use the Active Ki system.

important tip: In most menus if you press the "options" button, the game gives you a more in depth descriptions of what stats/attributes actually do. *note* it doesn't say what the elemental effects do for some reason.
Really hope to see some of these PS4 exclusives come to PC. Would be cool to experience a game like this or Horizon Zero down with nice graphics and a smooth framerate.

Games are meant to be enjoyed and I don't see why you would only want to restrict a game to your platform when it is better for the consumer and the game in some points to expand to different platforms. I been helping people explore or beat the level as soon as i am done with that level. It's so much fun. I for one fucking love this game. I dont even care about the trophies but i platinumed the Bloodborne so i intend to do the same here.
Another fantastic review! I love the format you use. It's not some quick in & out review; but you also don't drag on the same points for 30+mins. This game is amazing! My only complaint I've seen is the enemy variety is lacking. Just simply making them stronger isn't enough once you get to the later levels.

I picked up this game on Tuesday and still haven't started playing it yet. I'm the type of person who plays one game at a time. I'm still getting my fill with Resident Evil VII. Still gotta play the dlc as well. I'll get around to playing Nioh sometime soon. I played the demo and it's a really nice game. Great view though ACG!
I love this game, many techniques in Nioh are the same that you see in Ninja Gaiden, I hope they transfer all of the techiniques from Ninja Gaiden to Nioh with the upcoming dlcs. That would be so epic.
Glad to see the PS4 is finally getting some compelling reasons to own it again. Not much of a D Souls guy myself, but I know plenty who are. i am very curious about Gravity Rush 2 though.
As usual, a fantastic review. Was undecided about getting this, having always been put off by the difficulty of the souls like type game. 8 hours later and probably 600 deaths and I'm loving every dying minute of it. This game might draw me into the dark souls games which I've never played. Cheers.
Tachibana track is so good. I loved Nioh but I did not love the level design and repetition of atmosphere. It wasn't terrible but it was responsible for my boredom halfway through. Also the lack of enemy variety also played a large role in that. It has so much good going for it but they need to step it up in those reguards.
I finally was able to download this game, have about 10hr so far and after watching a couple of reviews to see what everyone else was saying this review has to be the most spot on and informative.
The graphics and environments are my only qualms. If From Software's atmospheric and environmental experience met with the passion team ninja poured in the structure and mechanics we'd have one amazingly solid game.
Very true. I always overlook performance because I'm used to an inferior experience with this style of game which shouldn't be the case considering I ( as well as everyone) expect so much from AAA's but I always let From slide (and TN) because there just aren't enough similarly styled games. I am incredibly excited that more dev's are seeing the popularity in this masochistic genre lol
Patience. Consistantly side step, never leap in towards his tail. Wait till he begins to breath electricity and rush in to the left side of his face right around the nexk. Attack and you will cause a good deal of damage. HIt with a full combo and rush out. Repeat
+San Tito if you stand far away from him he will cast thunder to the sky. it is exactly 4 lightning strikes. so on the third one rush to him and get some slices in. He will also roll at one point (when far from him) where he will expose himself, but do not follow him immediately, as lightning will trail him. then attack! Hope this helps.

Throw some Bushido Blade/Kengo in the mix with the stances and body part damage system, and you have a veritable Sengoku gangbang of love.

The Pro is probably worth it now with the new "boost" mode. It helped Bloodborne's performance a bit based on what I have seen (but not played).

Well BB has been out for a while and I was never tempted to buy a PS4. It's Nioh that's making me consider it. Being able to play BB is just a bonus.
This game is very hard but very rewarding i highly recommend it, other then a couple similarities its very different from dark souls.

Evil Pig It's more mechanically complex but not harder. There's a lot of passive and active stats that make it more balanced.

I felt Nioh did PVP better than Dark Souls. Having to choose PVP modes, felt better than being invaded.

I love this game, many techniques in Nioh are the same that you see in Ninja Gaiden, I hope they transfer all of the techiniques from Ninja Gaiden to Nioh with the upcoming dlcs. That would be so epic.

As usual, a fantastic review. Was undecided about getting this, having always been put off by the difficulty of the souls like type game. 8 hours later and probably 600 deaths and I'm loving every dying minute of it. This game might draw me into the dark souls games which I've never played. Cheers.

It's not about coming out first, but having the best review... and enjoying the games too.
Tachibana track is so good. I loved Nioh but I did not love the level design and repetition of atmosphere. It wasn't terrible but it was responsible for my boredom halfway through. Also the lack of enemy variety also played a large role in that. It has so much good going for it but they need to step it up in those reguards.

Unlike my teammates in every TF2 match.
I finally was able to download this game, have about 10hr so far and after watching a couple of reviews to see what everyone else was saying this review has to be the most spot on and informative.
This game is amazing in so many aspects. definitely fills my souls void until a BB sequel

The graphics and environments are my only qualms. If From Software's atmospheric and environmental experience met with the passion team ninja poured in the structure and mechanics we'd have one amazingly solid game.

Very true. I always overlook performance because I'm used to an inferior experience with this style of game which shouldn't be the case considering I ( as well as everyone) expect so much from AAA's but I always let From slide (and TN) because there just aren't enough similarly styled games. I am incredibly excited that more dev's are seeing the popularity in this masochistic genre lol

Patience. Consistantly side step, never leap in towards his tail. Wait till he begins to breath electricity and rush in to the left side of his face right around the nexk. Attack and you will cause a good deal of damage. HIt with a full combo and rush out.

ACG I finally did it.
+San Tito if you stand far away from him he will cast thunder to the sky. it is exactly 4 lightning strikes. so on the third one rush to him and get some slices in. He will also roll at one point (when far from him) where he will expose himself, but do not follow him immediately, as lightning will trail him. then attack!
