Hi Laura, I am 74 years old and my grandmother had the exact same carved eagle coffee table when I was a very little girl. The glass didn't just cover the eagle, it covered the entire table. I think it had about a 2 inch wood border that framed the glass.
I have one like it but it's not an eagle it's a lady sitting on a rock in the water. When I bought it I was told it was a mermaid but it was not but I love it.
I don't know if binge watching ALL of your videos over the last couple of weeks has been the healthiest choice I've made recently, ( I should probably mention that the binge watching is usually accompanied by a bag of chips and some dip....) but oh my goodness, you really are just the bees knees 🐝 Thanks for the thrifting inspirations and the lovely lovely travel vlogs!!
I got a necklace like the blue an red style in east Germany before the wall came down. It was fun shopping there because things were cheap but also sad cause tourists were followed everywhere. Supposedly for our protection... We gave the bathroom attendant about a 5 dollar tip from the 5 of us an she cried cause she could buy things for her son an husband. We were digging for more money for her but Major Greishabor corraled us out saying we would offend her if we gave her more. Lovely trip.
As a native New Orleanian I love the fact that you came to my hometown! So glad you had a wonderful time and many of the shopping locations I frequent as well. As they say you love New Orleans and she will love you right back. Hope you find your way back here again.
My daughter lived in New Orleans for 4 years. She loved it and she says the New Orleans gets in your blood. She lived in MidCity just before leaving and worked for Martin's. She loved her job too. Someday she hopes to go back and visit.
Oh Laura, to be young again! You are so active , you tire me out just watching your videos! But I really do enjoy them because I feel like I am there with you! You have found what gives you joy! My good friend has gotten me interested in thrifting just these past 6 months. We go to the same 3 local stores, the thrift, Salvation Army, and St Vincent De Paul’s. After following you, I am ready to explore more areas of our small Eastern State! Thank you for your inspirational videos!
The Silver Necklace, Truly to me it looks Thorns & How Beautiful The Flower Blossoms are so Perfect... You are my absolutely my FAVORITE THRIFTER EVER, So unbelievably knowledgeabl, Very Impressive! Terri
Laura, I JUST discovered you 3 days ago and I have been watching your channel 3 to 5 hours a day ever since! I love the content but I must say the best part about it is YOU! Your spirit is just full of joy and light. You are magical! HGTV should pick your show up for sure. I am obsessed. I've heard you reference a former TH-cam channel you did with a partner? I can't find it and would love to experience the trajectory of your business. Is it still available on TH-cam?
Oh Laura, you brought back so many good memories for me with this trip! My husband and I spent many a day in the beautiful state of Louisiana, and New Orleans in particular. Katrina changed so much, then health problems, so we haven't been in many years, but it was wonderful to travel via TH-cam with you and Jesse!
Wow, Laura- that pocket watch gift is absolutely stunning & oh so very special. I am so glad you found the display piece so you can enjoy looking at it while not being worn. I love New Orleans! It’s awesome that you & Jesse got to go. I have a good friend who owns a restaurant there so I go visit him every few years:). Anyway, what a fun video. All of your videos are works of art & they are getting better & better 😊
I really like this format of your own B-roll, travel AND vintage shopping. I might try this for my upcoming Vegas Trip. I get to see Tiffany while I am in Vegas too!
I missed you by a few weeks! Down in Belle Chasse for a two week Army course right now. Juts went antiquing on Decatur Street and had a blast! Looks like you guys had a fun time, too! :)
My mother painted a beautiful oil painting of the blacksmith's shop in Rothenberg in the mid-70s. My parents just downsized and now the painting is mine. I love it, and I loved visiting Rothenberg. We visited many times, especially for the Christkindlmarkt.
So awesome to see you spent so much time in Jefferson. We have so many great shops. I live three blocks from Jefferson Bayou Antiques. It's a favorite spot. New Orleans is such a wonderful place for resellers! Glad you had a wonderful time! Maybe next time we can organize a meetup for all of your fans here...there are many. :) PS. That WAS the river. You just walked up the levee...
This was so worth the wait, only wish the video were longer LOL! My bestie lives in NOLA and I'm planning a trip there this May. I sent her this video and said TAKE NOTES so we can visit the shops you featured! Thanks, Laura!!!
Such a great video! It brought back many happy memories, since I lived in New Orleans in the 1970s and sourced many beautiful vintage outfits for myself from the 30s and 40s! One of my friends from that era still works in one of those tony antique stores in the French Quarter full of 200 year old French antiques! I think about moving back, but it’s just too.darn.hot!
Our laura has come long long way doing what she loves entertaining us and now taking us places on het international trips well done u just have this lovely personality that catches everyone good luck always
I’m so loving your travel vlogs with great thrift shopping. Your trip to NOLA brought back so many memories from my time living in Baton Rouge and visiting New Orleans for many a Mardi Gras. I had a suitcase full of beads and doubloons that my daughter loved to play with as a kid. I’m looking forward to your next adventure.
You were standing on top of a levee when you were trying to see the Mississippi River. What you were looking at is called a slough caused by back water from the Mississippi.
Hi Laura, I've been a subscriber for many years now. I enjoy your videos very much, and as much your positivity in any circumstances. 😀 looking forward to more videos
That painting with the flowers and orange background- just love it and definitely with the horse tray! Awesome jewelry finds too! I’ve had paperweights in my FBMP shop before and they just SIT! Glad you could sell yours
This is one of my FAVORITE EVER videos of yours!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE seeing New Orleans through your eyes. I went to high school outside NOLA (and attended LSU in Baton Rough). But I have not been back in years.
I miss Tn., I used to live there and now I live on an island near Canada. I have to travel an hour to the nearest Goodwill but first I have to take a ferry to the mainland. So thanks for the trip, I got my fix! Smile!😄
I just love your videos. I’m so thankful you’re posting again. You’ve been missed. Your videos motivate me, excite me and make me feel confident enough to treasure hunt myself. Thank you for doing what God has called you to do. May you be blessed all the days of your life! 🙏🏻 🤗
Love your taste & style. It's perfection. I love the lckibona Japanese vase with the flower frogs. I don't know how to spell it but l just love them. Thank you love.
Travel is so meaningful. It enriches you and your sole. Take care of your time piece and think of who you want to pass it to. I love this video very much.
I would guess that you saw the Mississippi River when you were in Minneapolis/ St. Paul. Love all your information and watching the items you pick out.
As a native of New Orleans (sadly I don’t live there now), this brought back memories. I first started thrifting at a place on Jefferson Hwy. and never stopped. I used to get pieces of Depression glass for a quarter. The river was beyond the trees you were looking at from the levee but you probably would’ve needed rubber boots to get close. The bridge is the Huey P. Long, very scary because the lanes are so narrow you can get your side view mirrors knocked off if you aren’t careful. My Driver’s Ed teacher made me drive over it. Took me an hour to stop shaking! My 3rd great grandparents are in a tomb in Lafayette Cemetery. Immigrants from Germany in the 1830s which you’ll find a lot of in that cemetery. Thanks for the walk down memory lane❤
@@wrylieghhillebrecht1354 It's called "Rothenburg ob der Tauber". Very romantic and medieval looking place. I grew up close by and loved their local sweet specialty called Schneeballen (snowballs).
Hi Laura! In answer to your question about petrified wood vs agate, all petrified wood IS agate, but not all agate is petrified wood. Loved all the jewelry you scored!
❤I am originally from New Orleans, cool you went there,if you ever go at Christmas time go see Christmas in the oaks at City Park ❤❤❤and even if not Christmas go check out the park the oak trees are huge ❤❤❤
If you find yourselves in NOLA, again, ( not during Mardi Gras, check out the classics restaurants- Mothers for lunch ( a small cafe ) amazing Poboys and anything you want! Upscale restaurant- would be Mr. B’s ( on Magazine in the quarter) amazing Louisiana BBQ shrimp - not with a tomato BBQ- hard to describe- heads on shrimps adds so much flavor with spices( not too hot) lemon, and lots of butter. Another upscale - Commanders Palace during the week for Lunch ( lunch is most affordable -similar menus to dinner just slightly smaller) Two Sisters- has the best Oysters Rockefeller, and you must go to Cafe’ Du mode’ for There classic powdered sugar experience! NOLA has the best food in the USA, but during Mardi Gras, the crowds just don’t make eating in the classic restaurants feasible.
Oh wow, would have loved to meet you in person. I live an hour southwest of N.O. an love all your video's. If you come back this way we could show you bayou country and take yall on a swamp tour. So glad yall got to experience Mardi Gras!
That is a great idea with the napkin rings. One unique ring for each guest/family member. Love it.❤
❤️ this video! I go to NOLA every Christmas but have never been to Willa Jean. Adding it to my list!

We,amazing jewelry haul🥰
How amazing! It sure is a neat table! 😍
I have one like it but it's not an eagle it's a lady sitting on a rock in the water. When I bought it I was told it was a mermaid but it was not but I love it.
This one didn’t have a glass groove on the edge of the table but it clearly did immediately around the eagle emblem

Haha I don’t why this makes me so happy but I’m a chip and dip girl so I’m there with you and your with me 😂🙌❤️
Love, love, love chips and dip, since I was a child!!
Here I am a year later doing the same! She is a gem !
Germany is full of magical towns.

That's what napkin rings were originally for, each person had a special one just for them.
As a native New Orleanian I love the fact that you came to my hometown! So glad you had a wonderful time and many of the shopping locations I frequent as well. As they say you love New Orleans and she will love you right back. Hope you find your way back here again.
I keep saying If I hit the lottery I'm moving to Nola!!
It has an energy and beauty like no other! I hope to go back at a quieter time too and see it from a different perspective 😁
My daughter lived in New Orleans for 4 years. She loved it and she says the New Orleans gets in your blood. She lived in MidCity just before leaving and worked for Martin's. She loved her job too. Someday she hopes to go back and visit.
