    Another nice report Dimitri.
    I think the smaller coffee size is to accommodate the double or single shot short blacks allot of people are drinking. It would sit nice and firm in this smaller one.
    Good on you Suttons for helping out Dimitri and I assure you when I am ready, I will be buying from Suttons Homebush, either a Canon or Tank? I can be swayed either way, let's see . . .

      It depends on your use-case mate. I went through my Cannon "craze" (rather irrational, I must add) but would eventually lean towards Tank for my style and uses - you might be different... Consider carefully, is my final advice here (as I'm glad I did and didn't just jump the gun as they say)

    We originally wanted the Cannoj until the Tank came.out, but havent locked in the Tank yet. Eventually will have a Cannon, but waiting for the facelift model, which should be tuned better. Cannon is nice, but has a lot of body roll. Still trying to figure out what will be cheaper to run day to day. Diesel is more expensive at the pump, but tank with a petrol turbo engine makes it super thirsty. Turbo is fine for a diesel. Tank does have a low carry weight though. Shame its not really been tested yet.

      All good balanced points and I'm also considering all of them. My main concern is evidently longer frame and the need to park this beast around the city. Fuel efficiency looks like Cannon wins. Body roll - I'd have to test it on higher speeds and curves, which I didn't have a chance to try yet. Tank... Will need to go take a closer look again.

    Ha Ha Ha , i'm the same as you my friend, loved the cannon from day one but cant justify a ute as not a tradie. i've still never driven one either. i watch a youtuber called wheels by the ocean and they have driven a cannon and 3 ton caravan around australia. 25000 K's without a drama, plus adding kit along the way. Another good channel like yours😀
    Booked a test drive in the Scorpio for next weekend, keep you updated. Cheers.

      Yep Wheels by the Ocean are great but their use is very different to mine. They tow a caravan around AU, and I drive in the city and park in tight spots... More to be said about this exact matter in my next video.

    Hi mate, I'm also thinking about a Cannon Ute and like you I was blown away how great the product is and I was really keen on the XSR, but that model does not offer all wheel drive on bitumen, it slightly concerns me as I will be driving 95% on bitumen and only 5% off road. I do understand the off-road capability has been taken to another level, but saying that, I really like the black out edition.
    The question I have for you is that the updated model is due late this year, and I will wait to see if someone can confirm if it is coming. Are you able to find out anything as this would assist me with what direction I go. I myself can not justify the cost of the brand name Ute's currently on the market.
    Cheers again for the great reviews.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey I heard nothing about the new look yet and myself came to the conclusion that Tank 300 would suit my needs better than a Ute. I'll obviously review the new look when it's available. Re on and off-road use - everyone needs to decide for themselves what they are getting "for looks" vs what capabilities they truly need to get around. It's always a balance between the two, that you need to decide on for yourself.

    I can't afford the big name brand Ute's and I'm looking at gwm cannon or ssangyong musso. Ppl are telling me not to buy Chinese ute because it will fall apart or break. Owners of either vehicles I welcome your input.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1) Plenty of proof that the "other" brands break just as often if not more often. 2) you can't afford a VW Amarok, as you said yourself anyway, so your decision is made for you, really... 3) Jury is out on SAIC/LDV, so I would stick to GWM if you were to look the China-made UTE way. Do your own (further) research though mate. Good luck.

      GWM in my books have proven reliable to me , I’ve own the 1st GWM the x240 while been under powered it did take me to cape York done Frazer and pulled a 1ton caravan up and down the east coast of Australia had that car for ten years and never let me down ever, but it was serviced every 10,000 km. And now drive a 2014 v200 Dual cab Ute it’s done Frazer as I live near Bribie Island it done the soft sands there along with my old x240

    Can’t wait until that hybrid v6 . Should give the truck some much needed oomph . Maybe
    Have an off road option . Tires lift kit
    Skit plates steel bumpers bead locks
    And locking diffs , terrain management
    Big brakes

    I think the new Shanhai cannon is on its way to Australia, it is more expensive, but more refined, the interior will be better and comes with a bulky design, definitely worth looking, it really provides a ‘luxury’ feeling, even compared to some luxury car brands, like bmw, Audi etc.

    Well worth the extra dollars, I put a deposit down on an "LCC" but ended up with a two year old "X" after looking at the differences and it is fantastic, picked it up for $35K with 5 years warranty left. And I can still turn it into an XCC if I want to, for about an extra $3K

    I knew you would pick the ute over the 300, the space alone is a huge impact. Put the canopy on the back and you are in heaven. See you on Frazer Island !

      Lol no final decisions made yet as I would sadly still have to park this beast in the city, but I'm definitely attracted to the idea of owning one!

    thanks for sharing this but for me i love the design of tank 300 interior and exterior with black color .
    but the price in australia is very good for the tank 300 47aus dollar especially if it full options is it offer or the price with usd

    Mg zst steering wheel is better than the tank 300 .You would think the tank would have a thick steering wheel not a skinny 1 that doesn’t resemble a tank .That’s 1 of the many things that annoy me about the tank along with the blinkers ,lane keep assist and keyless entry .

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  ปีที่แล้ว

      100% better, I agree. And yes, you'd think they'd give those bulky vehicles thicker steering wheels. One less thing to get annoyed about are blinkers in Cannon-X - they are same old good ones.

    • @alexi21san
      @alexi21san ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ValueCarsAU I’m amazed the canon has the normal blinkers .Hopefully they do that on the newer models of the tank .

    There is no place for these tricked up tradie work utes as personal transport.
    The running costs are high simply because of the extra weight, the safety is an afterthought, and the tub is useless around town as you are just asking for people to steal your stuff whilst parked.
    The underlying vehicle is a workhorse and it won't take long before it is constantly reminding you. Try parking these monstrosities in the Coles carpark and the shine comes off pretty quick.
    Whether it be Cannon, Hilux, Ranger, whatever there is no place for these behemoths unless it is as a workhorse.
    The Tank is a far more responsible buy both financially and ethically. Don't be blinded by the bling!

      My Cannon is great for family of 5 and all the shit we cart around in it, with the $20k I saved I upgraded suspension, wheels tyres, recovery points, UHF, roller shutter etc, tows my camper up the beach nicely.

      Just go for another test drive and have your wife park it a supermarket carpark and back it up your driveway. Then try a parallel park, your love affair will wane.
      I'm not knocking Cannon, all dual cabs are the same. @@ValueCarsAU

      She drove it @darron, and we both liked it mate, but no, we haven't tried parking it etc and that's what I'm not disagreeing with and anticipating "issues"... No final purchase decisions are made, I'm just enjoying the feeling that Cannon-X gave me, plus - no annoying blinkers.
