What a wonderful soul he has.
I don't care what anyone says this guy's awesome. I found my dog hiding in the bushes at a gas station 3 years ago. I took him to the vet and they pulled his chip info. I called them for 3 months everyday. No answer. Then we found out that he was actually from a town over 50 miles away. He had a big impact swelling on his nose. He had some scratches too and he was very scared of everything. At that time everyone said I was irrational for keeping him because I was struggling myself. But he obviously went through a lot of hard times and if I took him to a shelter you don't know who he may end up with

Well... I did get a job. And I gave Sadie a good life. Going broke to rescue and animal may have been impractical, but at the time I didn't have much. And nothing to loose. We turned out fine, and I've had Sadie over for a year now. She would have been euthanized otherwise. Sometimes it's better to follow your heart.

Update on Sadie. February 2021. The whole family loves Sadie. I am Joel's mom. Today I posted facebook pics of us walking outside at a warm 33 degrees. Sadies so loving and sweet. I am so glad my son rescued her. She brings joy to the whole family; including Joel's grandfather, and the whole neighborhood! Everyone seems to love Sadie. Sadie loves other animals too, and is gentle with cats and even birds and squirells.

I know its "love at first sight" and shit, but honestly if u can't afford a plane ticket, then how are u going to afford taking care of a puppy afterwards? As much as i want the two to be together, i just think that he needs to get his finances planned and prepared before doing anything.

Owning a dog is a big responsibility. I don't deny he has great intentions in wanting to adopt the dog. However, it is a large expense to own one. Shots, and vet visits add up. I have two dogs and if you really want to ensure the dog is in great hands. Then the owner should be equipped to handle vet visits, shots, food potential dietary requirements etc. From an outside perspective, if the owner doesn't have the money to pay for plane tickets he wont have the funds to purchase all the proper equipment needed to own a dog. The way you treat your pet is extremely important, and I don't doubt he would be a great owner. But, what happens if puppy gets an infection or eats something. Not having the funds to take care of those issues will result in putting the animal down or putting it up for adoption again. So although it sounds really sweet, I think he may not have made the best decision in this situation. :(

This man is incredible. He did anything to do to get that dog. It's like a family that got lost in a place and rescuing them.
I can assure everyone on TH-cam that Sadie is well taken care of. Joel and I have teemed up as a team to create a documentary on awareness for kill shelters and I see him almost on a daily basis. She is healthy and is getting plenty of love, food and exercise =)

I drove 1150 miles one way and then back to adopt a kitten from my family and have no regrets. I only had Smoke for 11 years but it was well worth it.
