I have been playing Starcraft for many years, understand the game well, but it just amazes me how good Marc is. The awareness is just incredible, realising he lost 2 DTs just looking at the supply might looks like a small details, but for me these are the things that elevate his game to Godlike level 😃
Yeah he is good enough to be world champ but he gets intimidated too easily by looking at the names of his opponents when in tournaments.
he can also count really fast without clicking units
It really illustrates the large gulf between 'merely' grandmaster (from someone that never got passed plat) and professional (even former professional).
I don't think people comperhend his level. The plays he does maybe a handful of people on Earth can do. Definitely do not try to imitate him.

Yes, I've been watching some older content too and, though it is good, the unmitigated joy in the way he talks and plays now is palpable. I look forward to it every day. I'm actually very excited for the try-hard content!

I'd love to see something around mass immortal. We so rarely get to see mech-toss that isn't focused around disruptors or colossus. A 4-immortal drop does almost 200 DPS against structures, so the potential for trolling is high. Bonus if you open with a glaived adept timing attack in PvZ so they build a bunch of roaches. The goal of the adepts isn't to kill drones, but to force roaches, then shield the immortals from zerglings, while the immortals kill the roaches.
i would like to see you do only banelings. I love watching those things roll around

@@Lost7one If you can win against a GM opponent with sentries only, you can win with banelings.
What about that you only can use units that are transformable into Archons - so basically you only can use HT, DT, Archons. Especially against the zerg with the mass mutas you might have a funnier defense if you can storm. Also you may have more minerals to expand faster and/or build more cannons. Maybe even proxy-cannonrush with HT,DT, Archons against some outer bases.

i am thinking more and more about it. So what if the challenge might be something like you try to harrass the zerg with dts while you are building the cannons right in front of his base. Cause if he doesnt have spores like the 1st zerg you can feedback the overseers with 1-2 HTs and kill them with the cannons if the zerg is a bit careless of losing his only line of detection at some point.
My MMR is too low to know if this might be playable :D

Better yet: Marc converts to the Protoss Religion and can only build religious units: Zealots, Adepts, Templars, and Archons
I like these challenges. You're aiming for mass something, but staying flexible enough to use what you need to survive.

I've never been good at SC2 & I haven't played SC2 in a decade but the way you engage with your audience is amazing. Nothing like it and it keeps me coming back day after day. I wish SC2 was more popular so you'd get the recognition you deserve
Reapers. I know it won't be that powerful but it would be fun to see mas Reapers in the early game and see how far they can go.

I love watching phoenix micro, it's so satisfying. And immortals are _technically_ all you need to deal with massive units. It'll be a joy to watch!
Or, immortal/prism micro. Protoss golden age. Someone has to revive it.
Opponents build lings or marines 2/3 of the time and you'd have no answer.

I think the resources lost on the first game is interesting. Shows that if you're aggressive and can consistently get some value out of your attacks, you don't have to be particularly efficient.
i would love to see another dedicated tempest episode, the way you play tempests is so fun to watch. if you do, can you also put the builds/replays in the description?

I dunno I love tempest but they're too specific and kinda bad void rays in mass with some tempest as long range snipers works best with good ground support
Great stuff thermy!! I think this idea is the best content you've made! Hydras was amazing! DT's were awesome!!! You get to punish GMs with a single unit, but have enough freedom to make other units to counter! KEEP IT UP!!

I'm surprised this went as well as it did, beefy damage did it's job though! Would love to see some Adept shenanigans as it's such a cool unit and seeing the damage Maple did with +1 Glaived adept timing makes me wonder how lethal they can be.
Remember when Immortals had that unique shield that reduced damage above ten to ten?

I have a ridiculous suggestion. Call the challenge Blockade or something. You make your main target their supply and resources not their army. So the whole goal is to eliminate supply depots, pylons, and overlords as well as workers and set up ridiculous defenses at home like the 5 cc set up. Any unit is allowed. Maybe you’d want to take waves of cloaked banshees to eliminate pylons and keep tanks and Vikings at home with your planetary to stay alive. The goal would be to make them quit because they keep getting supply blocked and are tired of running into the meat grinder at your base.

An hour and 7 minutes of mass DTs and not 1 archon. This was awesome! Also, the only player that didn't GG out was the last Terran player; and most of the rest also added well played also.

Ever tried mass phoenix, zealots and darktemplars? vs zerg? so fun, keeping overseers alive is a nightmare xD , then just lift up everything with phoenixes and attack with zealots and dt's. superfun xD

I request mass disruptor for next week. Pig teaches this build for lower leagues where you rush an observer prism speed and disruptor. And try to catch his army clumped. Prob works better at the lower level but might be fun to see mass observers, disruptor, prisms.

I'd love to see vikings. They seem like a versatile unit you can do a lot with using micro and positioning, with built-in drop-style gameplay.

For the next 1 hour, I'd love to see Phoenixes. My favorite Protoss unit (as a Random player) even though I absolutely suck with them.

Marc playing mass sentry+disruptors. GMs running to hide in allyways only to be force field blocked and seeing "the light at the end of the tunnel" ... Locking enemy victims in with the sentries and bowling them to wet spots all over the maps ❤

I would love some commentary or breakdown of how you control the camera. Sometimes you are attacking three places, with armies not hotkeyed, and flipping back and forth so fast. Are you constantly resetting the camera hotkeys to your attack/focus areas? Amazing gameplay and content as always. Thank you.

Honestly watching this do you think you could do or possibly consider DT's to GM but just like your mothership challenge it is more of a theme than a hard rule. I really just wanna see a double prism play where you are haunting your opponent with DT's and then have a casual mass zealot warp in on the other how far you could take DT's with double prisms, proxys, comboed with other units like that insane stalker, phoenix DT army you ran. I'd be willing to bet you'd get so into it and be so unexpected you would get close to 6K.
Clearly you need to destroy your opponents with mostly ravens. Seems like such a strong unit with your level of micro

This gives me an idea. How about a "protoss bio" series, where you can only make regular protoss-looking protoss units. No big spaceships, no big machines. Just adepts, templars and zealots.
Thermies strat at the next big tourney has to be to cast himself. He will be unstoppable.
In the amount of time it takes me to click on the minimap one time Marc can blink his dts forward, fire 3 disruptors, and pull immortals back, all while explaining what exactly he's doing and why.

also i pick my spot for proxy by rallying 1 scv to every mineral line on the map in a custom map, everywhere that is left un scouted is places I proxy. works really well thanks to pathing.
