You will love it, those rods are two piece, the bottom piece has a lot of backbone, but the top piece is a power light. Easy to break, don’t catch it on trees or bushes walking… Or close it in a door or anything because you will break it
I can tell you sometimes when you find them, you will be surprised at where they are! These fish are super unpredictable within context. Sometimes you need to look in places you would not believe they would be there. It’s worth it

With the trend of rod makers to use smaller line guides, what is a good bobber stop rod? The smaller guides tend to impede the bobber stop from flowing through the guides smoothly.

I'm learning so much. I actually didn't think you could catch crappie from the bank unless you had minnows. But to witness it with this video. I love crappie fishing all year long but in the cold months grabbing those minnows are rough on my hands.
@@BarFlyFishingTexas heck yeah you did...they couldn't keep off that Jig. I've always struggled with depth and presentation and this cleared alot up. I'm assuming the loop knot is so it always rests the same way after jigging vs a tight knot maybe Inhibiting that?
Yesterday when I finally had time to go out on the river. It was cold and windy but I managed to catch 10 before the wind made me get off the water. Strange they only would bite tubes and hair jigs tipped with a crappie nibble.

Do you ever use crappie nibbles? Are there any situations to use them to increase the bite or is this a waste of time? When I try them it seems to attract the perch/bream/sunfish and wonder if that negatively affects the crappie bite. Do you think attracting the smaller perch/bream/sunfish has an impact on keeping the crappie away or bringing them to the spot?
I’m going to be completely honest, I’ve been Croppie fishing for over 40 years… Since I was a little kid! I have no use for scent, Nibbles, or any of that crap! You can either catch em or you don’t. If they get finicky and won’t hit jigs, switch to minnows. Really that’s the end of the story right there.
Honestly dude, A zebco 33 with a generic rod from Walmart would work! It’s all about you and your technique! But if you start getting into the big Crappie, Especially off a boat where you need to flip them in, you gonna start needing rods with back bone. I have a partnership with ACC Crappie Stix. I didn’t think it would make a difference using their rods but it actually does! I used to lose a lot of fish trying to bring them in, and now I have the power to get them out of the water! These rods are made specifically for fighting this species. All different sizes for all different situations everything from a 5’7” dock shooter, to a 14 foot vertical jig rod. Good prices too

That was awesome my friend!! In my opinion the fish and bobber technique it’s a killer for crappies!!! The only thing I change is an ultra light rod.
That ACC I’m using, is pretty much a power light. It has a little bit a back bone those so when I hoist them out of the water it’s not too bad!

That’s a real problem. My ACC rods work ok with the stops if you trim tag ends short

On ur boat what trolling motor do u have. I remember u mentioned u did a conversation on the head to make spot lock.
Yes, it’s a 2001 Minn Kota Autopilot. Then I ordered the head conversion for Ipilot, and I changed out the main circuit board to do the pedal delete.
