I have A 200 W pulsed MOPA fiber laser. It eats rust quickly. Black paint no problem. Different paints ablate differently. Red can be easy removal if it isn't very thick. Orange was a bit more challenging. is not as good. Grease being black cleans up and degreasing axels and gears works well. It also creates an unbearable odor. Never operate any laser cleaner without proper eye protection. You see videos that show and claim no eye protection is required. That is bullshit. The PPE and attire shown in this video is spot on. Using it with no fume extraction and PPE is not something to do. Fumes are noxious and you will quickly find is a terrible idea. High powered lasers like this one have their place but can damage certain substrates. Parameters are key. Great video!
Does this machine need a air source, looking to use this to remove paint and rust of car chassis and headers. I currently use a sandblast cabinet for headers but space is tricky. Could be a great addition to do chassis indoor garage which could help in wintertime. Would this machine be suitable for my needs
Are you using full power? My 2kW is cleaning much faster than this, but i didnt receive any sort of settings chart. Here are my settings: Peak Power: 90% Modulation Freq: 800Hz Duty Cycle: 80% Wobble Freq: 180Hz Wobble Dia: 50mm Wave Y Axis: 300mm Speed Y Axis: 2000mm/s I haven't had any issues with these settings. Speed is important to my application. Edit: lol just got to the end. Thank you for showing the settings.
Hey There, I watched some of your video, and not there are only some parts of the video where I'm using full power, and some parts I'm only at 50% and so on, I believe you have a dual axis mirror in yours so you about to adjust Width and Hight, and you have a wider frequency range, I choose to go a lower power most of the time and do multiple passes rather than hit everything at full power all the time as not to damage the metal underneath. Well China, is the one supplying all the parts, you will not find all the parts you need at one location or one vendor. I would look at Raycus laser sources or JPT laser sources or Max Laser Sources first so you can see what a 2000watt CW laser source will cost you, plus you will need an industrial chiller, and fiber optic cables, transformers, control modul... and on and on its out there you will need to source it all.

My settings are not going to help unless you have the same unit, each material is different, and each laser is different. When you guy a laser cleaner you need to take time in the beginning to dial in a test all the settings, for each material and create a library of settings that you like to use.

The BLC 2000 has its own air compressor built-in, and provides the correct amount of air pass the laserhead to keep the particulates away if you’re using if you’re using the smaller 100 W backpack you need to get your own external air compressor and that pressure should be set around 20 psi

I have financed lots of my equipment, over the years, and worked hard to pay each unit off. Now the units are all mine, and make money. Dont shy away from equipment financing, it is very common for businesses to finance large equipment purchase.
no , I think you misunderstood, the laser will remove those light colors, but the heat generated while removing those lighter colors, might warp the metal under the paint. if the metal is thin.
I think this machine is not the right application for that, as there would be way to many fumes, and fire hazard, the cable is about 30ft, however they make a 200watt pulsed version which would do well at stripping paint form wood with the right settings on a small scale.
@@LaserEngraving911 A tophat beam works good to strip the clear off of furniture. Most pulsed laser cleaners seem to be Gaussian beams which could work as well if like you mentioned parameters are set appropriately. Tophat beams are not suppose to do any damage. Tophats are Gaussian with a beam shaper that converts it to a Tophat as you probably know. They don't go past the ablation threshold.

I would think a pulsating laser is better for removing paint off of thin metal. Because it doesn't overheat and bend workpieces
