The reason that's funny is because whether someone is taller than someone else is not subjective so it makes no sense to say "not really." It's either yes or no. This scene really holds up. Sadness is timeless.
In my memory this was part of the H'amb sketch.
It is. They are eating Hamb' ster instead.
That's a different sketch with the same parents and son.
Funny back story, they impromptu wrote in the burps into this sketch because the kid told the crew that he had a special talent of burping. And this make Eric, specifically, very excited. He exclaimed, "Why didn't you have this on your resume??!"..
Needless to say, they used the hell out of his skill for this skit. Either way this is a top 10 fav skit.
