The funny thing is that if you played this video for a science class you would get a solid 30 seconds in before anyone suspected anything. Right up until the time Eric starts talking about exploring a massive dark woman
Humans can't even fathom the concept of this sketch, because it's *REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY* fun to think about taking a speed of light ride

Tim's expressions when he realizes his complicated explanations make no sense and are going nowhere is hysterical. "and, uh.... you wouldn't want to put it into a tube."
H Donna Gust is THE preeminent astrophysicist of our generation. Part of her brilliance is being able to explain such a difficult concept as the universe in a way that makes it easy to understand. I do take exception however, to one thing and that is her cavalier attitude about the placement of grauman's center. She doesnt leave much room for discussion, glossing over recent evidence from the tordograph that seems to suggest that it may be more closely aligned with tittlemans crest than sector 8 as previously thought.
I have not looked much at the tordograph or the Dripkin hypothesis. I believe she earned her respect when she proved that the universe expands to twice its size when stuffed in a tube. Brilliant.
Physicists always get hooked up on sector 8 and ignore the bigger issue, I'm afraid they just don't want to approach the paradigm shifting thought. Are we already in a tube?
I’m also from the school of thought that the Universe, in Layman’s terms of course, is really a lot like a leaf with Sector 8 being more of the stem of the leaf, Tittleman’s Crest being the top point of the leaf and undiscovered worlds are really just the middle of the leaf waiting for us to find them. And I know I don’t have to even get into the redundancies of why the Universe is most certainly NOT a bowl. Those fools at Cornell tried for generations to prove their ridiculous “Bowl theory” and Dr. Donna shot it to pieces using the Hot dog bun analogy.
1:42 I like how when he loses his train of thought the stars in the background black out like he went "out of the universe"... I find this little detail so funny.

Exactly. I have always felt that the universe was kind of like, um, a large bag of shake and bake chicken, just shaken and yet to be cooked. Yet we are living in the cooked version, of course.
There are multiple versions of you, in multiple universes, some of them are yet to be cooked, some where you are the chicken, some where you are the shake and bake part with all the seasonings
What I love about the Universe is that it's so complex! That complexity in all it's entropy. Take a star for example: What are you really seeing? You're seeing a light from really far away. How do you know that light is actually the planet and not just a light from Eric shining a flashlight into your son's window? You can't answer these questions! Alas, the beauty of the cosmos.
