  • Yup, my Traxxas X-Maxx is toast, haven't even had it a single day, or driven it more than 2 minutes and it's dead. Looks like the ESC is gone with 3 solid red lights and an arcing sound when plugging it in.
    #traxxas #xmaxx8s #xmaxx #rc #radiocontrol
    I wonder how long before I need to just get a Hobbywing Max 6 ESC like this: amzn.to/3QJaD9t
    Traxxas 4S 6700mah Lipo: amzn.to/3Wey23N

    The stock escs are known to have failure sooner or later but man that was fast! Traxxas will replace it under warranty for sure the question is how much time will it take.. if you want to make it bulletproof sell the original esc and buy the hobbywing max6. The next thing which is going to break is the spur gear so I would recommend to replace it with a hardened steel one.

    • @SomeGuysGarage

      Yeah, didn't even get one run on full batteries.

      Best change the pinion if changing the spur.
      Personally they wouldn't be the first things I would address
      Pins on the arms, servo and servo saver
      Then I would replace parts as they broke.
      Oh the wheel bearings didn't last me long so I would be ready to replace them or at least maintain them

    Bummer man! If it helps I will say this is not typical of Traxxas products. I own many Traxxas vehicles with little to no issues. Any issues I have had Traxxas was quick to resolve. You should be back up and running in no time and you will find the Traxxas Xmaxx to be one beast of an RC truck.

    I think it's just your esc. My batteries spark like that whenever I plug in the 2nd battery as well. Also, you can't just click the button for an off switch on the new xmaxx. It's a safety issue because people were forgetting to unplug their batteries and messing up their lipos. I was wondering all of this as well. Traxxas does a good job at correcting manufacturing errors. Im waiting on a free shock rebuild kit because my xmaxx shocks are leaky in the front. But they should help you out man.

    • @SomeGuysGarage
      @SomeGuysGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is the ESC, given the 3 red lights and I think that's where the arc is coming from. Also, says in the manual that you should be able to hold the button for a half second to turn off the ESC, that worked when I drove for a couple minutes yesterday, not today.
      Either way, hopefully they just replace the ESC with no fuss and I'll be good to go again! Really sad that I haven't even really driven it yet :(

    Yes you have a one year warranty and the hobby shop should swap it out for free. May have to order but usually no longer that 3-5 days. Don't worry I got a lemon that should not have passed quality control. All good now, but took up 8 months of sitting on a shelf into the warranty waiting on center diff spider gears. And my 8s came with 6s rated tires. One on the left blew and one on the right. They sent me a pack to make up for the 2 blown for 8s rated, but they come directional 2 to the set. So in good faith I bought the other side since they had already sent 2 and that's when I found out there for the same side. So just glued the 6s rated real good and now have 2 sets + proline badlands and the Duratrax hatchet Xs. My favorite. But I decided on black Friday when the Arrma Fireteam w
