That's correct! This tool addresses only one aspect of alignment. The dry erase marker method or the Titus EK43 alignment tool addresses the angular alignment you're referencing.
i don't get it. why such an expensive grinder don't make the burr just fit in the place. so wo don't have to align it. it's so expensive! and we have to align it with precision manually. they made it in factory with computer and robots!
what is the different step if you have the steel version?
This deals with whats called parallel alignment. But about the angular alignment ? Its equally important.

is there 2 version now of this tool? As i have seen one that is smooth in the centre it has not groove just the hole for the shaft and metal bar
That's right, I got one that doesn't have the grooves in the center
It’s easier to push the prebreaker out through the grind chamber
Great tip, thanks!
Would this tool also work with the Guatemala grinder?
Unfortunately, it would not. The tool is specifically made for 98mm burrs and the Guatemla has 71mm burrs.
Where domI get these tools? How expensive are they?

Between the EK43 & EK43S is there any advantage of one over the other other then just the space issue of the smaller unit?
That's pretty much it. The EK43S saves space compared to the EK43. It has the same power and performance as the EK43.
alignment ek 43 = pain🥲🥲
What do you charge to clean, set, and tune this unit?
We don't offer this service, but you can contact sales@prima-coffee.com and they can recommend some technicians for you to reach out to.

You are right. Thery are also still using slotted screws.
Exactly! That’s just absurd with that price & u can’t use it perfectly outta the box
