Thanks to the guys giving me tips in the comments. When doing the spacer install a non tapered 8 sided 32mm socket should be used. Also loosening up the clamp on the fork upper will make removing a lot easier 🤦🏻♂️
Most detailed installation video that I've seen. Well done. Now if my Bombers would just get here. Edit: No drop crown? I hope you don't damage your seals when it bottoms.
@@antssta Ah, I found out the new Fox 40s need the drop crown but all the Bomber 58s are like the earlier Fox 40s. You're good with just the Cane Creek headset. This guy shows you don't even need the CC but he's running it really close, too close for me. Worth a look though. th-cam.com/video/jMRpdlNQTRg/w-d-xo.html Risse has two drop crowns, one for the older Fox 40 and Bombers and a lower, wider one for the new Fox 40s.
@@user-FishermanRick are 100% sure about the Bombers NOT needing drop crown? I have no clue, but I just ordered Bomber 58s and the cane creek headset from Luna, and wanna be sure I have everything I need to install right away when forks arrive. Much thanks, man!
Loosen the top triple clamp when removing the top cap to install the volume spacers. That's why it was hard to remove. Front brake hose should be routed inside the fork leg so it doesn't catch anything when you're riding or get damaged in a crash. Also you need to make sure you have at least 8" of travel between the lowers and the lower triple clamp. In most cases a drop upper crown is required.
Yer I realised both of these things after mate! There is no drop crown for the Marzocchi that I could find. Mine is 1.5mm off spec I have not bottomed it yet
Thanks for making this video. I really appreciate it and it helped me quite a bit in preparing to put the Bomber 58 forks on my Sur Ron and buying all the tools I needed before the forks arrived. I went with the Drop Upper Clamp from Risse and kept both needle bearings.

Yea I got these forks too now 💪💪 did u ever try with stock 4 tokens ? Or just straight to 7 ? Do u feel it’s way better and not bottoming out as easy with 7 tokens ? Thanks mate
Went for a short squirt bro but it felt way to soft, plus being made for mtb I feel the weight of the Ron puts it on the upper limit of what they can handle s
The stock needle bearings are miles stronger then the cane creek bearings I’f there was a drop down crown available I would have ran both stock bearings, they only had 120km’s on them
Hi all. Looking to get these forks, but getting mixed feedback about the standard hun on the front wheel not fitting? 110 vs only 100 on this fork? If anyone could give some feedback I’d be grateful!
It is 100% needed if you want to get the crown to top of stanchion height close to the specified dimensions The is no advantage apart from that The stock head bearing is miles stronger
@@antssta oh ok so you really need to get the cane creek headset, I do pretty decent jumps and getting better. So you just need to install the top bearing is that right for more fork leg length? I'm very new to changing forks on a bike never done it before
Hey mate nice to hear the aussie accent, thanks for the no bullshit video🤣I do have a question if you could help us out. I've just swapped mine out and note the stem has the slightest wobble inside where the bearings go as if the stem isn't wide enough. I'm not sure if the last forks did this as well. I used blue lok tite on all my screws for extra protection. Works great.
you should have loosened the top fork clamp bolt.thats why the cap was tight to remove and install again.
Thanks for the heads up 💪

Were did you get the forks I've been trying to get those but their outta stock everywere
thanks for the vid bro, super helpful!
Thanks for video mate, very helpful indeed. I’m about to do this.
Was there a reason you only changed the upper bearings ?
To lower the over all stack height man and not hit the lowers on the clamps
Thanks for the video bro!
Are those bomber 58’s better than the fastace forks you had on it before?
Miles better for comfort and confidence!
the brake line must be routed along the inside of the suspension fork so that it cannot be torn off.
Im going to leave the steer tube long and making it a SurRon chopper 🤣 New age bikers 🔋⚡️
Thank you. I'm just getting into the inherent issues with the rst killa forks. They really are garbage.
i got the fastace, whey around 200lbs, did you find it to be a big upgrade?=)thx
Absolutely game changing upgrade bro!
Dude where did you find the bomber I can't find any . Great vid to man this will help me out
Can I still use the stock loose ball bearing or is the cane creek headset needed to install bomber 58?
Does anyone knows where I can find a replacement through axle for this set up? I messed mine up after taking it off and on a bunch without proper tools or knowledge how to do it.
I’d contact a shop that sells and services Marzocchi products

Hey do you know how much weight you dropped when you installed the Bomber 58?
Why would you put old bearings on brand new forks? Great video very helpful!!
The stock needle bearings are miles stronger then the cane creek bearings

You want the 110mm version mate :)
Great video. I'm about to install my Bomber and Cane Creek headset. Doesn't the Cane Creek come with a crown bearing? Why use the old one?
You mean the one on the bottom bro? Needle bearings are a lot tougher then the cane creek bearings so I just wanted to keep one at least!
@@antssta ah okay makes sense. I'm actually regretting buying the Cane Creek. The stock X upgraded headset seems beefier.
@@NathanRedman it is man but it’s needed to get close to the recommended specs on the bombers

Quick question, why did you delete the lights?
I just don’t do any night riding bro, I prefer a helmet light when I go anyway
