Title: Star Trek's DEADLIEST War - The Temporal Wars Explained

Star trek online did a good job with a version of the Temporal war.
Finally, my favorite Star Trek sub-plot has been explained!
@@charleslennonbaker True, but the Temporal Cold War is one of my favorite sub-plots in Star Trek. It's nice to finally have at least a bit more insight on it beyond what they show in Enterprise.
They deleted their comment@@Game_Blox9999
I think the spear builder needs more exposure. They were fantastic villains in Enterprise and would be great in future projects.
I'm still wishing for a TV series about the Temporal Cold War.
Clearly it was Sam Beckett
I knew it!
There was that ONE episode when Archer "leaped" into himself 😐
The "unknown Humanoid Figure" manipulating the Siluban was clearly Tuvix seeking revenge.
Its kind of cool that Ent. Disco. and SNW. Have a thread that the rest of the shows don't share, I think its interesting to note that Romulans had purposely held back humanity. One glitch is that Picard's S02 does not gel with Kahn being alive already in 2023, The events of that season (PIC SO2) took place in 2024, the SNW episode took place in 2023.
There a lot of small contradictions like that in the franchise (in TOS KHAN and the augments and the eugenics war were in the 1990’s). Best not to think too hard about them.
Temporal Cold War
Start Date: ????
End Date: ????
It extends not just forward and backwards in time, but sideways also, into counterfactuals...
One side effect of the Temporal Cold War was no doubt allowing post World War III Earth's exposure to the Borg 'escape ball'.
In Classic Star Trek, the Romulan War was fought using Daedalus class ships exclusively. The spherical hull shape was 'temporally supplanted' after the 'Zephram Cochrane' Borg incursion. This giving rise to the senior Archer's warp five project starship the NX-01. These then supplemented what was previously fleets exclusively composed of the Borg-resembling Daedalus ships.
The reduced numbers of dead and injured sentients in the Romulan War resulting from this change was deemed worth a little time alteration.
At least according to my own 'head canon... 😁
I heard somewhere that the whole temporial plotline in Star Trek: Enterprise was originally supposed to be a crossover with Doctor Who that never happened.
I think the mysterious person in Enterprise was Section 31 since they work in secret and to their own benefit
I watched all the espisodes of Enterprise (as well as TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, Discovery, Picard, LD, and Prodigy), but I thought the Temporal Wars was logically messy. Time travel means virtually no history is set or safe.
But it also means that every story is canon and any continuity errors are explained.
Hello Captain Jack, thanks for sharing this informative video!!! 🖖
The writers or show runners said it was going to be Captain Archer as the unknown Future figure
Future guy was Alex Kurtzman, meddling with the timeline and causing continuity paradoxes to suit his own goals.
LOL
Prefect
And Burnham was whispering and crying in the background all the time.
Watch discovery season finale…. Kurtzman is agent daniels
More power to him as he’s been behind the best of the Trek series.
I did love a TARDIS turning up on Enterprise, that was good fun.
Too bad we didn't get to see who's the guy in charge of war in star trek enterprise
I hate that Star Trek didn't pursue the Temporal Cold War more through the later series like SNW or Lower Decks.
The person that the suliban were taking orders from - was named JJ Abrams!!!!!
I actually really loved Enterprise. I watch it through once or twice a year on my Bluray set.
It was one of my favorite Star Trek shows!
can you do a Akira class starship breakdown?
There are so many ways to time travel in the ST universe, it seems banning time travel tech would be impossible.
I may have missed a reference how about someone from Discovery in the future being the mysterious figure.
Maybe someone snapped or knows about some horrible event we haven't heard about yet and they're trying to avert that
We will have a series based on it one day
I’d love to see this as new animated series, or even a new anthology (an episode that covers one story, one style, etc)
The whole thing is so confusing, I gave up trying to map it out year's ago. When ever they add something I'm just like...ok, sure...why not...🤣. 🖖😁🤘🇨🇦
I like the idea that Future Guy was a Krenim scientist Noye who was trying to resurrect the Doptera back from being unwritten because his wife was one of the victims of time meddling to stop the Iconians. However, that is from the Star Trek Online splinter timeline.
Apologies...this might get long 😊glad you all made a video on this because this is a subject that me and my fellow Trekerd (Trek Nerd) friends have been having for a while. With the Kelvin timeline, the Temporal Cold War/Wars, the "Khan" stuff on SNW, DISCO, The City on The Edge of Forever, and just little things I've noticed over the years, I believe that there are changes that occurred overall due to "little" things (i.e. bringing George, Gracie, and Dr. Gillian into the 23rd century) and "major" things (i.e. George Kirk being killed or Borg technology being found in 22nd century Earth) that REALLY altered the timeline in a constant way and/or continues to make alternate timelines.
Example, playing devil's advocate within the story, why is the NX-01 or Jonathan Archer and his crew never mentioned until recently? It's easy to say that Paramount and Rick Berman and company decided to create a prequel series, but also some of these things could've been known and mentioned, even in the smallest way, beforehand.
Additionally, I personally believe, discussing the video, that there were TWO Federation factions. One, that Daniels worked for, wanted to maintain the prime timeline at least as much as they could. The other faction, Shadow Guy working for, was meant to enhance the Federation. And a part of the latter's success was the NX-01 and it's mission ACTUALLY HAPPENING, thus bringing importance to that ship and it's crew. A part of why I say that is because there was an episode of enterprise during the first season where Silik actually saved the ship when it was in a nebula about to be destroyed. If shadow guy, and by extension Silik were there to enhance the federation then saving the NX-01, which might have been destroyed in the prime timeline at that moment, would have allowed the Federation to be stronger than what it was before...which it arguably was in the altered TOS eras (DISCO and Kelvinverse). I could geek out more but I will spare you all. And as Lore Reloaded says, these are just my thoughts, what are yours 🤔
Cheers jack
T Pol is my wife in a timeline. The other timeline I'm married to 7 of 9.
😊😅
Great video. I basically hate all things Temporal Coldwar. It's such a pain in the ass tp keep straight.
I don’t try to keep it straight; I just enjoy it.
Don't forget the least known yet highly consequential time-line of Captain Pirk. We call this parallel universe Star Wreck. For the sake of us all, may it burn a thousand deaths within the Hobus Supernova.
I don't really get overly concerned with what happens with fictional properties. But the fact that the Temporal Cold/Hot War was not the unifying central thread for all of Star Trek post-Voyager is maybe the most "frustrating" thing I've ever encountered in an entertainment medium as an adult. Granted, I understand why Paramount couldn't (or were reluctant to) do it, but gd.... I think stories involving Starfleet having to deal with temporal plots that interweave with all the things in the previous shows that maybe didn't make too much sense (ie plot holes) would have been absolutely brilliant.
Time is a illusion lunch time doubly so 😂😂😂😂
Just make sure you know where your towel is. 😂
The spear builders and na'kol are the same species tho.
“If he’s a vampire”? Captain Jack Please explain
"Oh, boy..."
man my head hurt
Writing this was a struggle :)
- Jack
@@TrekCentral that how timetravel work it mess with the head and i am normaly trying to avoid time travel stuff
I hope they never make a show about the Temporal cold war or the Time war.. It's more fun when it's a mystery 😊
the burn is stupid but i like the Star trek online idea.
the temporal cold war is the best gimmick to oblitarate cannon whilst keeping cannon intact ... being a 51 year old trekky i hope they never resolve it
I still find it a too nice a package of "oh we made time travel illegal so it doesn't happen anymore"
a little like saying oh alcohol is illegal so people don't drink anymore 😂, the federation really is still quite gullible even in that farthest time
daniels looks like marc zuckerborg........
Dude probably owns Spacebook
It's was the tholians
Annnndd then it got ruined by having riker saying its all a holodeck thing 😂
I mean I doubt all this information is freely available in a holonovel 😂
So was the aliens helping the Nazis ever taken out of continuity or as of right now in the 1940s of the Star Trek Universe aliens helped the Nazis
Discover is dumb and we don't want it in our lore videos.
You don't want it. I get it..
@@stevenyia2778 name 1 redeemable thing about discovery.
Any chance you could learn to not butcher the species names? Had me cringing the entire video. Legit would take a few minutes MAX to watch a clip or something. I understand you're just a presenter and not a SUPERFAN or anything, but this IS (ostensibly) your job.
Any chance you can not be an asshole as a majority of these butchered names are just a result of his British Accent. Listen closely and you will hear clearly.
@@Shaun_Tait How about you mind your fucking business since no one was talking to you. It was two in particular and had nothing to do with his accent. He's just straight saying them wrong, as if he's never actually heard them, which is why I suggested watching a clip. My comment is regarding doing proper research on the subject he is talking about, not a slight variation in pronunciation. I've watched this channel since it started and he has a tendency to garble words he doesn't actually know, sounding as if he's chewing/choking on his tongue while trying to speak.
