I tell people who are thinking bout moving here, to come here, travel around the islands first, then you can decide if the Philppines is right for you. When my wife came to the USA, I started teaching her how to cook the foods that I liked, and she does that quite well. Unless you are very wealthy, don't expect to live a western lifestyle. One of the best things that I like about living here is getting to know the people here. I seldom see a foreigner here in my area, justa few visitors from other areasof the Philippines.

We come here to learn the Philippine culture , to be with the locals, dance, sing, eat and drink with them. They are all very friendly. Great advice. If you move away from your home country, why would you want to recreate it in your new country. I love the local culture. The only time I get annoyed is when the Karaoke goes on into the wee hours of the morning. Lol

Regarding the Karaoke....loud music can be played up to 10pm and then the volume must be turned down or you can get permission from the barangay office if it is a special occasion. Today we are invited to a Christening and bday so same procedure as usual, eat, drink and karaoke 😜👍

Before uprooting your life you must do your own research. Come for a visit of a month or more so you can go to more locations. You have access to 7K islands to choose from. I live in the Biliran province and there are very few expats. On the island where I live there are only 4 other expats. But, I have a wonderful time going to local Basketball games and volleyball games. I am friendly to all the locals. The only time I run into any uncomfortable situations is when I try to explain why I don't drink. I simply explain that I have diabetes. They. Understand that. It is a good thing to learn some of the local languages. Yes, everyone wants to practice English with you, so show respect and practice your language knowledge with them. Have fun and be patient.

Some months ago , i was searching for flemish rabbits in the Philippines. I cane across a article , where they cooked the rabbit lechon style. Can I email you ?
Oh i loved rabbit, my X wife used to half cook 2 rabbits in the oven the day before, let them soak overnight in the oven and then cook them the next day, yummy. I have not seen them cook rabbit here in the Philippines, no-one here has eaten rabbit. Of course you can email me, my email add is in my channel description. 👍
Great video, regarding internet there, well 4g cell phone signal I found is excellent there, when travelling from Ilagan all the way down to Manila it's pretty much full signal all the way. Here in the UK I live just 5 minutes from a Town Centre and I get 2 bars of signal lol. And right now in the UK it's Fu***ng cold lol, I am over there again in just 24 days yay!

Hi, good question. I do believe that women can adapt more easily to different lifestyles than men, this would also depend on your age. The younger you are the more easy it is. Other factors would be if you are single or have a partner. I have an expat friend here from Holland and his daughter who is 30ish came to visit a few weeks ago. She loved it and will definitely come back again. Is it safe.....well this depends on which area of the Philippines you intend to visit, i just compare it with any other country. You will be absolutely safe if you get to know a group of Filipinos and be one of the gang so to say. If there is any trouble they will protect you, they will treat you as a sister. Thats why the word Kuya is in my name, Kuya means brother. All very good friends call me kuya Ian.
I would say yes you can be safe here just be aware of your surroundings and most importantly make friends with the locals. They will treat you like an Ate or sister. Hang out with them, smile, laugh, eat what they eat and don’t be negative 😊 Also, don’t be a Karen! And don’t go on and on about how things are done where you are from. I tell people you come to the Phil’s to be changed not for you to change the Philippines. The food here is not very good so i just cook my own idont sit and complain about it. Live in southern Luzan in Cabuyao Laguna. Have access to anything I want to eat we only lost power once do to typhoon for about 6hrs once in three years I don't know any other expats there are lots around just not close to my house
