Great documentary here done by The Houston Rockets. I was born in 96 and for me as a kid living in the Houston area Yao Ming and Tmac were idols. They're legends to me now even though I still see them in the news from time to time. What they did for me and the game of basketball is unlike any other. (P.S. Scola's elbow jumpers were a beauty to watch!)
Amazing piece of film! I was reminded why I started to love basketball so much. Since that era of Rockets ball, I have expected our team to have the same intensity and camaraderie as the teams of this time, but after seeing this film, I understand that those expectations cannot be met every year. That's what makes those Rockets teams during this age so special.
Like everyone else, this really took me back. I remember all those big shots, Shane hitting that three in the season opener, and how when Novak hit the game winner I got so excited my slipper flew off my feet and almost hit my dad in the face. I started watching Rockets because of Yao, but fell in love with the whole crew. There is no team that can come close to this one for me, especially not the current Rockets with no fight nor desire to win.
That game 6 in Utah, Tmac got 40, and that was the end of his prime. His body starts to break down. The next season Houston got Ron Artest but Tmac never comes back to the old himself. End of an era.
This is an amazing, well-done, documentary. Not a Rockets fan (loved the Spurs), but what they did in 2008 was special. Still can't believe we missed out on Luis Scola, lol. Hope the Texas teams get all great again soon!

Yao Ming and T-Mac was probably the only big&small duo that came close to Kobe & Shaq. Kobe admitted that T-Mac was one of the toughest match he's ever faced as T-Mac was able to do everything he does but is taller and more athletic. Shaq has also admitted that Yao was his toughest match up because of Yao's shooting range (which is quite ahead of his time if you think about it) and height (Shaq referred to it as 7-11). That saying "Never doubt the heart of a champion" is from Rudy Tomjonavich, the Rockets head coach when they won in 1994-1995 back to back championships. He is confusing his team roster and years. He thinks Motumbo is Hakeem Olajuwan, lol.
Remarkable team, improbable, unlikely, uniting. An all time anomaly AND if I think about it, probably what got T-Mac his deserved Hall of Fame induction. Great documentary, I enjoyed reliving that.

Ah they didn't win. Celtics won that year
As much as i wanted to believe they won it all but they didn't...
