I don't think Draymond would be able to match up against anyone in the NBA from the 1980s-the early 1990s. Maybe he could play on the Denver nuggets but no way he'd be able to match up against anyone in the bostin Celtics, Lakers, 76ers , bulls, pistons, they just had to many great players. Today it's saying something if you have three great players on a team back then the teams I just mentioned had 6 great players on each team I forgot the jazz and the Knicks and pacers cavs all had a great starting lineups as did the suns and hawks and supersonics, trailblazers had a great teams with great players. The Worm is the epitomy of the phrase "Organized Chaos" he knew what he was doing at all times, and could get what you needed done DONE just in his own way. Loved watchin the cat through his whole career even when he was a Piston against my Bulls.
As a fellow life-long Bulls fan (I go back to 1970-- Norm Van Lier and Jerry Sloan remain the two baddest 1-2 guard defense I've ever seen), I too fell in love with the Worm when he was on the Bulls' ultimate nemesis, the Detroit "Bad Boy" Pistons. I watched him play and play with his freakshow motor that never stopped whenever I could. It was really just a crazy pleasure to see how if one can't score, one can't win-- and Rodman did everything he could to demonstrate that reality and early on. As a life-long fellow Bears "Monsters of The Midway" fan as well as being a lover of my favorite sport, Baseball, in which it is the only game in which the defense controls the ball.... I guess one could say, I was utterly defensive minded for sure. So I appreciated this tactic immensely. Even as an enemy, how can one not appreciate the efforts of anyone who is doing things that are so eye popping? His athleticism was so supreme but when he began to gain more basketball experience at the pro-level.... he became a no-score threat that could literally dominate the game and only shoot the ball 3 or 4 times in a game. That alone is jaw dropping. But when he really began studying the X's and O's at the pro-level and such a bizarre outsider looking in viewpoint, he played HOF basketball. When I learned he became a Chicago Bull.... I looked at my (then wife).... and told her "no one is going to beat the Bulls for the Championship. It's already theirs and the entire NBA already knows it." In the scope of the question favorite Rodman moment? I remember early on in Rodman's first season, him and Luc Longley both went up for a defensive rebound, between the two it bounced around a few times in the air and Luc came down with it while elbowing Rodman right in the grill for it. Knocked his head completely back. Rodman smiled, laughed and patted Luc on his @$$ for imposing his will to get it and clapped all the way back down to offense. That was very cool. The man was something to watch, no question. Thanks for your comment and enjoy the remainder of your weekend.

I was at game six of the 1987/1988 NBA Finals at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles. Lakers verses Pistons. At the time I believed (it was my opinion) that Dennis Rodman was every bit a dirty player as Bill Laimbeer. I also believed that he was just as over-rated. But by the end of that game I became a Dennis Rodman fan for life. There was one play in particular where Rodman literally blew my mind with his incredible hustle and athletic prowess. This story begins on the Pistons offensive end of the court. After a missed shot by Detroit there was a long rebound to the left of the goal that was heading out of bounds. As the ball was careening over the 1st row of seats out of play Rodman dove (flat out) over the front row seats while the spectators in the seats were all scrambling and diving to get out of his way. Dennis got possession of the ball in mid air and threw it behind his back and saved the ball from going out of bounds. Dennis landed head first on the side of his face, his shoulders and his chest hit the floor next. Then in this incredible feat of athletic ability his entire bodies momentum slid across the floor and he ended up on his feet in an upright position. What was also truly amazing is that Rodman never stopped running. Now the ball was saved to the Lakers and they took off on a fast break. Rodman was chasing them from the aisle out of bounds just behind the front row seats. When he reached half court there was a space where there were no seats and he sprinted back onto the court chasing down the ball like a "surface to air" missile. He ran the play down and the Lakers shot the ball and missed. As the rebound goes up there's Dennis Rodman taking possession of the rebound on the defensive end. Without stopping Rodman instantly threw a perfect outlet pass hitting his teammate in stride to start a Pistons fast break of there own. I was stunned at what I had just seen. It was the exact kind of tough, smash mouth, lunch bucket, hustle your backside off and never quit on the ball mentality, that never makes it onto a stats sheet. While a lot of NBA players talk about this kind of mindset... Only a few of them can ever truly pull it off. My mouth was so wide open in awe that my jaw was resting on my chest. Because I could not believe what I had just witnessed with my own two eyes. From that moment forward I had a new found respect for Dennis Rodman's basketball abilities. And I really didn't like him. Guy was fkn nuts. Flying all over the place grabbing every loose ball known to man ,every game, every minute, every overtime. Relentless.

@ KG. . . . Although Rodman was never 6’9”, he played much bigger and with endless effort. In today’s position-less basketball, 6’7”, 210 lbs (his actual listed ht & wt) he would be perfect to match up defensively against almost anybody.
I remember Zo saying that they were game planning Rodman in one of those playoff series and that controlling him and his rebounding was a major key to their success. He stated that they tried EVERYTHING and threw EVERYONE at him, but no matter what they did, they could not keep him off the boards. He was literally unstoppable.
The biggest "weakness" of pre Rodman bulls was the boards. Before him it was rebounding by committee, the weren't bad but nothing special. Once I heard they got Rodman, I remember thinking they may not lose a game. More rebounds meant more possessions for the bulls offense plus this d took some load of pip and mj on the defensive end. Which meant they were fresher down the stretch at the end of games and in the playoffs
We hated the Pistons with good reason and passion. The fact that he played for us, tells you how freaking good he was. Basketball professor, Dennis Rodman
@Tone22845 would depend on who the other 4 team members are. If you've got scorers on the team, hands down I'd take Rodman. He could score more than he often did, but he wasn't a scorer on Duncan's level.
Probably THE BEST Rodman documentary I have ever seen, fabulous. Glad to see his peers acknowledge his athletic ability and BB IQ. Love Scottie P comments.
I met Dennis Rodman in Vegas once about 3am in the morning. There were security guards with him. I asked them isn't that Dennis Rodman. They said yes it is, told them I am a huge Ridman fan. I wound up getting to meet him. Said hi told i was a huge fan, he was in between teams then I asked if he knew where he wanted to go. He said he is still deciding. Probably a 1-2 minute interaction. I thanked him. He was so cool.
I didnt really understand Dennis until about 1990, I was in 7th grade and we played rec ball and I hadnt turned into a scorer yet so I wore too small shorts and tried to rebound like him. When he got with the Bulls he quickly made my top 5 of all time. I have Scotty 2nd and Dennis 3rd. That was great basketball that helped shape my game and my life.
People think I’m crazy when I say Rodman was as dominant defensively is on par with what Shaq was offensively. Rodman was a force on the defensive end of the court. From Bird to Magic to Shaq he could guard them by himself. He was also the best team defender of all time in my opinion and I don’t even have to mention rebounding.
@@CornFedWhiteBoy27you’re absolutely correct about Harper. He was a great defender himself. A lot of people forget about that because he was overshadowed by the trio.
Nobody compares to Rodman. Us old heads even have a tough time explaining what it was like watching bro play. If you only watched highlights of him, do yourself a favor and go watch some full games. Best defensive player I've ever seen.

Even though Michael Jordan had Horace Grant for the first three rings to get Dennis rodman was the best thing that could have ever happened to Michael Jordan because it's nothing better than somebody that can get the ball back if you miss a shot someone that doesn't even care about scoring I'm just so happy and excited about getting a rebound and locking the other opponent down
I remember him shutting down Shaq to only 2 point in the second half of a game. Shaq got so mad he tried to attack him but MJ and Pippen got in the way.
Natural athlete. Dennis wasnt no ball player. He was just a quick smart strong dude who knew where the ball would be most of the time. Legend in the Game. Even Mike had to say ok we need him.
When I was a kid, and played basketball at my local school and later in sporting club, even tho I was a point guard, I still say my biggest inspiration was Dennis Rodman, for a move I saw him do and done a few times as a PG, he shot a 3 pointer and ran just in case he missed
One thing i remember as a kid born in the 90s from Chicago and watching the bulls w my dad is thinking, “what will rodmans hair look like tonight” lol. It was exciting for some reason.
Much respect to Mr. Rodman! No one was him before he was there. No one will ever be him after he left! The Worm is was the only one who dominated games without scoring a point! Much respect sir
i had colored hair, and rodman jersey on when i made the travleing team that led to my scholarship! Grew up watching my step dads old vhs tapes in the 90s of dennis rodman DOMINATING the boards. I wanted to be a point guard my whole childhood until i saw that man play ball. NOBODY could move up and down the floor like Rodman. He was always in the right place at the right time, and he looked bored doing it. One of if not the greatest defensive player to EVER grace the league in my opinion. There are a lot of legendary ballers but Dennis is up there with the dream team.
It wasn’t dead slow bud… scoring was lower because people actually played defense. You know that thing where you try to prevent the other team from scoring? And no teams shot 50+ threes a game.
@@steveolie985 that's not even close to a good rubric. Anyone can jack up shots; especially when there's poor defense. Dennis Rodman was a Beast He would dominate today's game on the boards and defense I didn't go out and party all night long and enjoy the games the next night that's a Beast mode❤
This is why he is the most unbelievable most determined defensive human beings in all of NBA history period. Definitely one of the top defensive players in history. Plus dude one of the most honest and cool off the court.
That Isiah Thomas comment on how he analyzed the spins of the ball on rebounds is such a prime example of how acutely aware and locked in he was, like he's playing in slow motion and mach 9 simultaneously. Legend
To me looking back at it now and even then to get Dennis rodman was a shock to the whole world for the bulls to get Dennis rodman shot to the whole world the league never saw it coming the other teams never saw it coming but I could tell you one thing once they got Dennis rodman next to Scottie pippen and Michael Jordan it was the dream team for real that was the big three that I don't think anybody ever accounted for that was a big three in every category especially defense was a definite big three I don't think you have a big three that plays defense like them ever I don't think you have a big three that can play defense like them pick 3 is now are strictly about offense three offensive leaders that control teams but none are great defenders when you had Scottie pippen Michael Jordan and Dennis rodman who had everything that you needed to win multiple rings and you saw that because they got a 3 Peat together
If he wouldn’t done those extra side-hit antics, “& the replays displays them all” he would be on top, he would be the “Giant” of rebound B-ball… When he was on it… he was the Mountain over all Mountains. But he was called “The Worm.” Enough said.
I doubt that. He played tenacious d , and he fouled out. Usually towards the end of the game with 17 rebounds, three blocks, four steals, and seven loose balls saved from out of bounds ,two rows deep . Oh ya, maybe a couple assists on the behind the back, and fully stretched out throws back in from his airborne position ten feet out of bounds. Or was one of those fifteen feet that night? Yea, then he fouled out , but so did the 6'10" power forward he fouled in mid-air preventing a two handed dunk attempt by Shawn Kemp, who lost it, threw the ball at rodman, and also exited the game on his second technical. Kemp allegedly messed up his shooting hand after in the dressing room punching a wall. Rodman hit the stationary bike. Yea, your right tho, he did say woo wee.
I'm surprised that the story of him watching during practice while his team was taking shot. He was just under the rim counting the spins as the ball would bounce off the rim. The man had rebounding down to a science.

George Karl Says it too. Statistically, i think the series v the sonics was MJs worst finals statistically
@ KG. . . . Although Rodman was never 6’9”, he played much bigger and with endless effort.
In today’s position-less basketball, 6’7”, 210 lbs (his actual listed ht & wt) he would be perfect to match up defensively against almost anybody.
He would destroy embiid
@@n.dewayneb9258 hey remember when Kevin Durrant was listed as 6'9"? 😉
Yea and that was always a lie
@@nicholasnajibi3082stop it man
very nice Vid :)
i love that ZO hated playing against him but has the respekt & dignity to praise him that high
I Hear A Lot Of People Talk About How Great Of A Rebounder The Worm Was but In His Early Career Denis Could Actually Shoot Your Lights Out 💥💣💣💥💥
They said he was dogging people in college I think he averaged about 30 a game
God bless you Worm.🙏🙏
The biggest "weakness" of pre Rodman bulls was the boards. Before him it was rebounding by committee, the weren't bad but nothing special. Once I heard they got Rodman, I remember thinking they may not lose a game. More rebounds meant more possessions for the bulls offense plus this d took some load of pip and mj on the defensive end. Which meant they were fresher down the stretch at the end of games and in the playoffs
Very true, well said
Love Mr. Rodman. As a young kid i use to watch him play for the Bulls. He was so much fun to watch with his stunts and amazing defense.
We hated the Pistons with good reason and passion. The fact that he played for us, tells you how freaking good he was. Basketball professor, Dennis Rodman
I’d rather have Dennis Rodman over Draymond Green all day everyday…
I'd rather have Rodman than Tim Duncan
@@ThatsWhatSheSaid9492 stop it !! You need buckets . Rodman is a great role player but you need you're scorers to go with that
@Tone22845 would depend on who the other 4 team members are. If you've got scorers on the team, hands down I'd take Rodman. He could score more than he often did, but he wasn't a scorer on Duncan's level.
@@wildwillie5408 it's no reason to take Rodman over duncan
Detroit and Chicago didn't mind playing 4 on 5 on offense tell you how valuable he was.
He ran the top of triple post a lot, don't forget Chicago had an actual offensive scheme under Phil and Tex
34 REBOUNDS!!!!!
I grew up watching him
He made 20 rebounds feel like a triple double
Wilt got 55 one game....and his team lost to bill Russell's team.....
@joemarshall4226 he was also the tallest one on the court
Wilt never beat the Celtics because the team was better
Probably THE BEST Rodman documentary I have ever seen, fabulous. Glad to see his peers acknowledge his athletic ability and BB IQ. Love Scottie P comments.
In today's game, he would be like a gem. Every team would want him not matter what. Fr. 🔥 💯
He would be a liability offensively. And they took handchecking away so he wouldn't be as good defensively in today's nba because of the rules.
I met Dennis Rodman in Vegas once about 3am in the morning. There were security guards with him. I asked them isn't that Dennis Rodman. They said yes it is, told them I am a huge Ridman fan. I wound up getting to meet him. Said hi told i was a huge fan, he was in between teams then
I asked if he knew where he wanted to go.
I saw him guarding Drexler for 36 minutes and shutting him down
I agree Rodman would lock you up
Prime Shaq had no defense that could stop him
@@adgee5401 there’s advanced stats to prove Dennis belongs in GOAT conversation.
He was as dominant and unstoppable at rebounding as anyone was at any other facet of the game.
@@phillipcreed7933 Would like to see these. I love Dennis. Most underrated player ever. I have Wilt #1 btw.
There.was never a defensive trio like jordan , Pippin, and rodman together.
Ole harbor at 6'6 pg was a good defender too. It was luke that hurt them at center.
Superman, Batman, and Rodman
@@CornFedWhiteBoy27you’re absolutely correct about Harper. He was a great defender himself. A lot of people forget about that because he was overshadowed by the trio.
Dennis rebound dunk, celebrate and oh shit get back on defence 😂 always hustling.
Nobody compares to Rodman. Us old heads even have a tough time explaining what it was like watching bro play. If you only watched highlights of him, do yourself a favor and go watch some full games. Best defensive player I've ever seen.
Dennis would be playing on Prince's team.
BIG WORM is my hero. Dude... hustled hard. I always get inspired. I always surfed by his house in Newport just to talk to him. Dude was like superman to me.
The combat boots w/o a doubt is my favorite! Garnett had me rolling 🤣
Game 6 1998 finals. Dennis's stance as M.J. takes his second free-throw.
Becausee players today are lazy. They not diving on floors for balls for the most part. They just want to shoot 3s. Take the easy route
It's a game of horse except you can wave your hands In Your opponents face is all. What they did was turn it from a contact to a no contact sport amd let's not forget you can running back the ball through the red zone now......I mean paint 😂
@@brandondrew4914basketball was never a contact sport bro basketball has only gotten more complex
@@ericburton1244lol that’s hilarious… go watch some playoff series from the 80’s. Bulls/Pistons, Pistons/Celtics etc…
🪖🫡💯👍🏿 Video Bro. Rodman All-Time Great.
4:40
This was the first time that I heard someone giving THE BAD BOYS credit for being the training team that molded Dennis winning attitude!
Even though Michael Jordan had Horace Grant for the first three rings to get Dennis rodman was the best thing that could have ever happened to Michael Jordan because it's nothing better than somebody that can get the ball back if you miss a shot someone that doesn't even care about scoring I'm just so happy and excited about getting a rebound and locking the other opponent down
One of a handful of jerseys I got is Rodman's college jerseys. Dudes a Savage.
Dennis Rodman no doubt one of the greatest players mentally and physically to play the game of basketball.
0:49 lmao these both would be flagrants today..
I remember him shutting down Shaq to only 2 point in the second half of a game. Shaq got so mad he tried to attack him but MJ and Pippen got in the way.
I remember that game well.
Dennis Rodman played the game he didn't let the game play him💪he Was a Surprise for his Size to recognize👀the Worm Was Slick 🎩*
Go look up Dennis Rodman hitting 3 pointers, his reaction is just the best. I freaking LOVE him!!!!!
Rodman reminds of this song I 3:41 Listen to by Prince Uptown Where I come from we don't give A Damn we Do whatever we Please
Natural athlete. Dennis wasnt no ball player. He was just a quick smart strong dude who knew where the ball would be most of the time. Legend in the Game. Even Mike had to say ok we need him.
I'm convinced Dennis Rodman would have found a way to make LeBron quit in games if they could both meet in their primes.
@@MrEliasdl 😂😂😂
He would of gotten under his skin so deep.
Dennis hip tossing Alonzo Mourning is crazy work💪🏿😂💯
Dennis Rodman was a force of nature.
I don't know how else to discribe him.
Crazy Amazing.
Imagine comparing a Legend (Rodman) with a clown (draymond). Dray play with too much emotion and Rodman play with the love for the game
When I was a kid, and played basketball at my local school and later in sporting club, even tho I was a point guard, I still say my biggest inspiration was Dennis Rodman, for a move I saw him do and done a few times as a PG, he shot a 3 pointer and ran just in case he missed
Man, Robman learn all that in Detroit.Give them the credit!
I’m from that era I agree the WORM was scary very scary especially the fights hahahahha he was fun to watch.
Lil known fact is Rodman had asthma which made it even more amazing what he was able to do on the court
It's not a little known fact. He wrote about it in his book. He mentioned in his speech. John Salley talked about it when they were hazing Alonzo.
Man was insane, probably was the most athletic player on those bulls teams
Phil Jackson said he was.
if I had to assemble a fantasy TEAM (from all current and retired NBA players), he’d be on it.
Dennis Rodman would own this era NBA basketball
No.
One thing i remember as a kid born in the 90s from Chicago and watching the bulls w my dad is thinking, “what will rodmans hair look like tonight” lol. It was exciting for some reason.
Haha that was always the thing back then 😂😂 he had some wild shit goin on. He really would fit in great these days with his dresses and painted nails
@@ericburton1244 yea now its just normal. He was different back then but pulling mad bitches. Now people doin that lie bout whats in their pants.
Man, man, Dennis was another player. I hear Draymond, but it's no comparison
For Alonzo Morning giving Dennis Rodman his flowers you know its official.
Much respect to Mr. Rodman! No one was him before he was there. No one will ever be him after he left! The Worm is was the only one who dominated games without scoring a point! Much respect sir
Rodman is definitely on my allstar team every rip and it might be unpopular opinion but so is Stockton.
i had colored hair, and rodman jersey on when i made the travleing team that led to my scholarship!
The man had a total rebound pct of 29.7% in 1994-95 and averaged 17 rebounds - when the pace was dead slow.
Who told you the pace was slow? I'm not sure where you guys get that stupid shit.
@@MaybeDHitHim PPG avg, shots per game..
You could've at least mentioned fast break points or how often the shot clock resets or even ratio of points inside the arc and elbows. But you didn't because you really don't understand basketball.
Pathetic child
Dennis Rodman was a Beast He would dominate today's game on the boards and defense I didn't go out and party all night long and enjoy the games the next night that's a Beast mode❤
This is why he is the most unbelievable most determined defensive human beings in all of NBA history period. Definitely one of the top defensive players in history. Plus dude one of the most honest and cool off the court.
That Isiah Thomas comment on how he analyzed the spins of the ball on rebounds is such a prime example of how acutely aware and locked in he was, like he's playing in slow motion and mach 9 simultaneously. Legend
Flashy flamboyant defensive stats I'm surprised he didn't train in ballet To further increase his Rebound abilities
His hustle alone would beat teams let alone his ability, IQ and mentality
Dennis always belonged in Chicago. I hardly hear him talk about Detroit. His love and respect for Michael and Scottie is very obvious!
Technical Addition To The Dream Team. One of my Favorite Players.
Energizer Rabbits like Myself.
The Worm was special,,Green you are no even close😂😂😂😂
Rodman was one of the greatest players ever.
Dennis would have a 100 rebounds a game in today's NBA.
A talent that is elite in any day, week, month, year, decade, century, era,or epoch. The man can just ball
Dennis "The Worm" Rodman
If he wouldn’t done those extra side-hit antics, “& the replays displays them all” he would be on top, he would be the “Giant” of rebound B-ball… When he was on it… he was the Mountain over all Mountains. But he was called “The Worm.” Enough said.
Your right he would be a problem. He would be suspended every other game. But when he got the chance to play ohh wee.
The Greatest rebounder I’ve ever seen.
Truth, if I had one pick left and it was Dennis or steph Curry, I'm going with Dennis every time.
1 of the best ever!
Dennis was a rockstar back in the 90s.
Dennis rodman in a wedding dress was unforgettable.
I'm surprised that the story of him watching during practice while his team was taking shot. He was just under the rim counting the spins as the ball would bounce off the rim. The man had rebounding down to a science.
he is in my fav starting 5😃
Dennis Rodman was a Swiss army knife. He left it all on the court. Highly underrated.
Loved Dennis rodman 💯 every thing that he did in the NBA
Rodman was a beast in rebounding
