New Endurance Race Lobbies Are Insane in Forza Motorsport

- As a Noob to sim racing, I thought I'd share my Forza Touring Car experiences, my wins, my loses and my wtf moments. I try to explain my thought process and hopefully provide you with a learning guide or useful tips.
My strategy is simple, stay alive at all cost. We all know Forza Motorsport can be a little chaotic at times. I hope with a more passive tactic, I can swoop in and take the position. While also improving my own skills as a sim racing driver.
Track learning is key, hopefully by reviewing my race choices and my mistakes, I can help others learn and improve upon their lap times. Thus making the racing world more fun and competitive.
I am using a G920 Logitech wheel, and playing Forza Motorsport on PC using Xbox Game pass. I do not have the VIP, or cars pass, this is the basic game as available to everyone.
I do hope you all enjoy the content, Racing and Sim racing is great fun and helps you escape the harsh reality of the life.

The car rolling out of the box without engine noise isn't a bug. It's like real life where they leave the pit box in full electric mode and then fire up the engine on their way to the pit exit.
Also, if you had selected 5.3 laps of fuel, it would have only added 1.3 laps to your 4 laps you already had, giving you .3 more than you needed.

Forza should have implanted a way to see the hybrid system and utilise it. Like they do in real life. I mean they was 50 percent there lol

Well it took me 5 hours to get this video. The amount of races I joined and left due to penalties from rammers, being slammed of track, pitted, brake checked the lot man is unreal and I am not saying I stayed in them races full I left all of them after 2 minutes so I must have joined at least 50 races and this was the best one. But once you get going it’s amazing. Just got to pass that first hurdle lol
My first endurance race was chaotic, but I really like them. Fits so well now with 24h Le Mans and also the great Porsche 963. Well done Turn 10!
Yeah this update has to be one of the best or the best up to now lol. you are right it really does fit in well though with the race going on to. Credit where credit is due man

@@Flashms Pretty cool. I am not sure I am ready to spend an hour or so playing, but the ability to not have the 1st lap idiots ruining your entire race seems like a major plus
Yeah the ability is there but no one uses it at the moment lol. That was the best of let’s say 50 starts lol

Loving these longer races! Just need to find a full lobby of likeminded players that will actually do the whole hour race. I’ve done about 5 of these so far and each one started with 24 people, by the end of the first lap usually around 6-8 people leave and by the end of the race there’s only 8-12 players left..
Ive had some banging races so far, my best one had myself and 5 other equally skilled racers within 1.5-2 seconds the entire race which really tests your abilities.
Hope endurance races stay for the long-run!
Yeah I get you bud. I can understand why some leave though. Sometimes they see how far the leader is and just think I am never going to be able to finish anyway so why bother. It will soon settle down and I think it will just get better with time.

I have done 3-4 endurance races now and they have all been clean, no punts, no anything, just clean racing. Ofc when you start that far back it’s gonna be messy.
Yeah I get that but also it may have calmed down somewhat now too. Either way it not be that messy wherever you start. We have another 59 minutes and 45 seconds of racing lmfao.
Holy holy SH*Y^.. this is like better than F1 real races, the passing, the people learning on the fly to race in race cars on real tracks.

Just a tip.
50% fuel is 6 laps. It saves weight = laptime (0.5 per lap) and you have less tire wear..

every time I think about trying motorsport, I realize I could never deal with the player base ramming and crashing. I play gt7 and it’s pretty rare to be crashed into as much as I see happen in all these fords videos .
Ramming isnt as common as it used to be, the biggest issue is in matchmaking. GT7 as a new player is just as bad from what i have heard, but once you level up, and have a better skill rating the better the race. This is what Forza is massively forgetting to sort properly. Still there are some very good races to be had. Far better than what it was at release lmfao

Yeah man it really does need it, they did implement a little fix but it was kinda worthless lol. But with each update it is getting better bud. Maybe next month update could revisit the matchmaking system again who knows lol
I think a big problem with matchmaking is that they just dont have enough players to do it well. You can notice a variance of driving skill (and behaviour) depending on when you play
Yeah I do think that is an issue to I don’t mind variance. While I also had some of my best races with just 3/4 people in a lobby. It’s catch 22 lol.
I was in that race!!!! I remembered the lime green livery as soon as the video started. Sorry if I punted you off at any point during the race. It was madness for a few laps. Unfortunately I didn't finish because the race end timer.

Yeah the first lap is a little bit wild. Everyone trying to find their feet. To be fair I didnt mind to much being punted of to the back of the pack. Gave me something to work back towards and push forward while also remembering that its about endurance and maximizing the time rather than brute force. So during the night I tire and fuel save somewhat so in the morning when I went onto mediums I could push harder. which worked out quite well :D
I was RR1Nismo0886 my son was Messimaster. I dropped all the way to last on one of the laps but managed to climb back up.
Ah your son sent me of on the second part of the first straight, I out braked him and he sent me into the wall lol. How come you dropped all the way down ?
also your son held the car well through its slides, holding on for dear life there lol got me a little nervous lol
Something worth investigating is comparing your lap times on hard and medium tires and then seeing how much time is spent in pit lane. If you gain enough time on mediums it might be worth trying to run a 3 medium strategy while running a bit conservative or even 3 medium 1 soft while pushing as much as you can. What strategy is best for you is entirely dependent on how tactically flexible you are as a driver and what you are capable of as a driver.
Exactly this is what I want to try next. Because the car in front was on mediums as they pitted 3 times. So there are different tactics that can be utilised.
Forza feels really healthy at the minute. Theres not a great deal anyone can do about dodgy players but the racing itself feels very planted

@tandoodleys5252 yeah of course it would have been amazing if it was released perfectly. Not like they couldn’t see the competition lol. But they are listening to the community. With thick Cotten buds in but some stuff gets through lol. Still they’re making it one of the best out there. Of course people would and could argue the difference but one thing is the physics of cars are soooo good. Such a perfect balance of sim and arcade. It feels great on a wheel and graphics are starting to look amazing. The races they are bring out are great. Just need to drop a good few more tracks. lol.
Just need to make it better for pc users (like myself). Livery section on pc is so clunky. And other little hidden gems would be great.
@@Flashms I'm on Series X so I'm not privvy to the PC stuff, but I can tell you it plays beautifully on there!
Agree with the whole listening to the community thing, and that's nothing but a positive move. I like the consistent content updates, and bug fixes are the norm for every game these days. But like you say more tracks would be good, and I'm pretty sure that'll happen. It'll be interesting to see where the game is at in another 6/12 months.

That's if AC2 doesn't destroy them first lol but we will have to see what happens when that game is released.

thanks buddy, yeah man its such an amazing race, from the night time to sunrise OMG cannot explain the feeling man it was just amazing. didnt matter if i won or lost the morning sunrise was stunning and just made me smile and the feeling that i have raced all night and now the morning has broken, i am about to go onto medium tires for the last big send, where I am going to make up places was just unreal man.
if they keep doing things like this (of course fix the items I suggested) then I think forza is starting to find its feet :D
Good race, I enjoy the commentary. I agree, they need to find a way to allow everyone to finish. Two minutes isn't enough and the people who finish early shouldn't have to wait.
Thanks buddy, Yeah i just think it will solve both problems at the same time. I would be so annoyed racing for 1 hour just to not finish and end with a DNF , while I would hate to win and wait for everyone else. I find it frustrating waiting the 2 minutes lol. So once your on the board you should be able to move onto another race or leave and go back to the menu, I do believe it to be more of an oversight from turn 10.

@@Flashms ah it was like last week sometime, think it was tc not sure. I've usually been ok, it's more just the car suddenly feeling weird and out of sync.... I've narrowed it down to quick play.

Yeah I’ve only had 1-2 connection drops but that’s to be kinda expected. Yeah I do believe they made some changes to the cars because the base modes drive so much better than they used to. I find tuning them is throwing them out of balance. So not sure what’s going on. But I only really noticed that on gt at the moment. I am kinda enjoying the Astra. I am really sending that car at the moment lol. What car are you running at the moment??
@@Flashms oh nah, I've been on starfield the last few days cos of mods lol.
It's been better overall so hope it just continues that trend. The cars are definitely better balanced, I've enjoyed the racing lately, it's been really competitive.
I like to mix it up, so if tc I'll try use 3 or 4 cars, similar with GT. The lynk in tc is a lot of fun, I don't get on with the scooby but it's good on tyre wear.

Yeah they are far more balanced although the Audi does need a little nerf lol.

DId my first one last night, Loved it.Very physically though on my aging body with a direct drive wheel :-). I agree with you though, They need to add tyre strategies to the finish table. It's not like you wouldn't have that information in a read race.
Well done buddy, it is a long hour lol especially on a wheel, it does tire your arms out. What wheel do you have? I am on a g920 so although may not be so powerful, it still does pack a punch lol. Exactly they need to add tire strategy's. Like i say we should be able to see on the leadboard whos running what tire.

Endurance races in Forza its not something appealing for now until they fix the matchmaking... I mean you can start a lobby of a short race with 24 players and end it with less than 10 because there its 0 penalization for leaving the race (the Skill Level its still not used for anything yet) people just leaves if they think they are not doing a good race so endurance races loses all meaning.
Yeah it does need looking at because S should not be mixed with any lower than A in reality. I rather have a smaller more competitive lobby than a full but chaotic lobby.
Yeah the skill level is irrelevant even though they do state they use it for matchmaking. Shame really. Same as the safety rating. Does not mean to much as C B A are all mixed with S anyway.
Yeah I left some races due to the way some drivers were and stupid penalties that were not my fault. So getting a 4 second avoidable for someone sending it off track onto track right in front of you at a 90 degree angle is not something you can avoid at 150 mph lol. But I think with time it’ll calm down and be enjoyable in the future.
They also need to fix the race end timer. Not everyone can keep up with the pace of some others. So they should be able to finish to and not get a dnf

They are amazing I cannot lie, just have to survive the first lap lol, I should be there on Saturday, But i may just stay for the one or 2 races. Will have to see
I funnily did 2 or 3 Races and all were pretty good my first one was a nice battle at the end with poor tire strategy from my part so my tires were cooked last lap, dooming to P2 after 3 laps off battling. Second time was more like a time trial after i passed everyone like 7 laps in and had 30sec distance to second at the end. Only 3 of 9 people finished that time because of the 2 minute timer after the first finished
Oooooo you got it lucky then lol. I had the polar opposite of your races where this was the best of the bunch lmfao. Once we passed lap one though it settled down and was amazing.
I found hard hard hard to be the best strategy. The mediums dropped off to fast if you push really hard. I’ve only raced it twice but I got podiums both times and a win from the second one

just done 3 of these in a row, that night period takes its toll and nearly got caught out driving straight into tyre barrier at the chicanes a couple of times

Yeah the night is so awesome and its so easy to miss your braking point. I may have been a little close to lmfao. You have to try out the GT long races to bud their great

Why are the mid tires cold? Mine were like this as well.. Ive no idea if this can be even fixed
Because though the fast section the tires are not doing much work. With little downforce the tires just get colder. You could add more tire pressure but due the lack of cornering. They just get colder and colder.
My best lap time last time was a 3.33.977 on triple hards but as soon as the rear tires loose grip that thing is sliding through the handling section

You misunderstand the fuel system.
When put stopping the options show what it will fill your tank upto regardless of what's in the tank already.
Also when the fuel gauge ticks over from 1 lap to 0 laps you have 1 lap of fuel left.
0 to 0.9 laps of fuel shows as 0 laps. 1-1.9 of fuel shows as 1 lap.
Yeah I feel like I right plum now lol. First time I ever had to put fuel in to be honest. I was pretty close towards the end as fuel started to run a little dry.
Wonder what i had left in the tank lol.

regarding the race time, it’s in hours, minutes and seconds, where it would normally be minutes, seconds and microseconds so your are not seeing the microseconds that you would normally
Yeah took me a few minutes to work that one out after the race lol. Brain was frazzled lmfao.
hopefully they bring in more endurance races for others like sebring, Spa nurburgring and for other categories

Not yet. But looking forward to getting stuck into that lol. I will be trying it out today. I hear it’s just as chaotic. lol
People had 6 second plus time pentatys and it what's worse is you can't do 3 laps of qualifying because if you choose soft tires they lose all grip half way through the lap so you have to start the 2nd lap and quit qualifying and put new softs on which means you only get 2 laps of qualifying
I wish they would sort that out during qualifying. It’s always been a problem. It’s rare when you get a full 3 laps out of soft tires.
Yeah I also think penalties need looking at as forza safety rating is counted on races not time on the road. So you could have 5 penalties in 1 race which will destroy your rating. Where as in that time you could have done 3 different races and that’s 2 penalties per race which does not affect your rating as much as it’s more spread out. I dunno man. I think for endurance it needs to be a little more lenient. Easy to go a pixel or 2 off track and some accidents are not avoidable or some people know how to intentionally give other cars penalties by ramming or brake checking them.
I think if youre a lap down you finish the racea lapdown and dont finish off the entire race or get adnf
I get you bud, really everyone who participates should be able to finish, no one should be left behind or forced to fail. While the people who finished can leave and get the points and money. Easy then, it pleases everyone. I don't know man, I don't get how this oversite got through unnoticed lol.
Regarding the times…
Hours: minutes: seconds
Normal times are minutes:seconds.milliseconds
Yeah it wasn't till this morning I clicked lmfao, I was a little worn out by the end of yesterday so my brain was a little frazzled lol. Not bad overall though, I do wish the first corner problems was not there, but that was the best of a load of races, seems everyone is sending on the first lap not realising we have another 59 minutes and 45 seconds of race time yet lol

I would have love to add a replay into it but forza replays are still broken and the max recording is 20 minutes.
Also I drive with a wheel so rear cam is a little disorientating lol.
I totally understand where you’re getting at though bud. If you see my other videos I do try and add replay footage etc into the mix to break it up. all the best bud

If it was like 6 hours long literally nobody would join, people would maybe race for the first half an hour and so on and then leave. So there is no point of doing any longer.
Yeah if the race was that long I would say you need to be racing in a team to. Sort of like how I racing does it and acc. 6h of straight racing can destroy your arms and fingers lmfao. You’ll need a break lmao

Physics are way better than GT7 so are the graphics
I have never played gt7 but it is a very common thing I have been told that the physics are far far superior and graphics are improving upon fm
@@Flashms I’m sorry but the grass on GT7 looks like that fake matte plastic grass people buy for their inner city balconies, they’re also still using 2D Lego trees. The graphics and lighting on FM is miles ahead of GT7.
That’s the funniest comparison on grass I have read. Again never played the game so I cannot compare. Man that’s so funny.
I have to say though. The sunrise on the morning at Le Mans was absolutely stunning and you do hear me giving turn 10 massive credit for it. They really hit the nail on the head at how beautiful it was

Forza is probably the only racing game that does have a flag system, it’s insane.
I tried this game on gamepass and it’s horrible. I’m off back to Iracing :)
I’m currently playing GT7, stop being delusional the physics are easy AF and the players are dirty af

I’m playing it atm after smashing out FM for 6 months but I’m considering getting back on FM, if you wanna laugh check out my recent twitch stream - ‘Leavedespace’ it’s like a war zone, it’s much dirtier than FM, literally people try to turn you around on the straight. Sony fanboys are on some koolaid stuff or they’re just seriously delusional. I don’t mind the physics but FM physics are definitely more realistic, on GT7 if your wheel is straight you can just smash the accelerator even with TCS, very forgiving.
The engine noise isn't an issue - these cars are hybrid. An electric motor brings the car up to pit lane speed before the main engine kicks on. Oh, and you can save on tires by keeping traction and stability control to ON.

@@Flashms well, not as much polluting, electric motors are used for launching and overtaking, and some corners. It provides instantaneous torque for a slingshot effect. For endurance racing it’s very handy for fuel conservation.
See because there is nothing on the screen stating there is a hybrid motor being used or charged I assumed there wasn’t one. But thanks for telling me it’s good to know. Wish they would create a hud for this showing charge level etc. be handy that would.
@@Flashms agreed. There's alot more to these cars than Forza could put in I guess. But you're correct, the hybrid system is measured - the petrol engine charges the batteries which in turn powers the hybrid system, and this is 100% adjustable. You can adjust the car (in our case at least), more reliance in tight sections on hybrid, less on combustion, other way around in fast sections and straights.
@scrooloose see this is something forza should have implemented. I mean I play on a wheel so I can easily keybind buttons to do what I want the car to do. It’s a shame but I guess on the flip side they also want to make it as accessible as possible and not everyone is able to understand what it does and how to use it. I’m sure they could create an auto feature for the less capable people but you know I may be expecting to much lol.
