Hereford 1642 - Sources

While building the city of Hereford i have tried to capture as much as possible the historical character of each building. Using reference photos and old maps i have pieced together the city as it would of stood in the 17th century. For some buildings i have used designs that still stand in the surrounding county , such as timber frame designs from Ludlow, Hay and Ledbury.

Lovely work, sorry to be a pedant, but in 1642 Hereford Cathedral would have had a second tower at the western end toward King's Street. This collapsed on Easter Monday 1786 (read in tot hat what you will). It would be lovely to see the cathedral rendered with both towers, understandably your reference material will be a bit scarce....

Hi Wye Explorer I tried to make butchers row as best i could. i used paintings and an excellent model thats on display in the black and white house museum. Thanks for watching and commenting. Jack
