I’m 17 years old and from North Carolina. Living in the southern United States exposed me to some epic weather events, including massive thunderstorms, tropical storms, and even snow. Watching weather has been my passion for as long as I remember, so in late 2021, I came to TH-cam to share my forecasts with all of you. My channel started off slow, but my audience steadily grew as I posted weather forecasts for the United States. Then, as of early 2023, I’ve been living in Western Europe. This brought a whole new perspective to weather that I wouldn’t otherwise have noticed, and my growing interest in European weather brings me to where I am today!

In Ireland we are almost waterlogged. Farmer's will have issues with harvest unless it dries up some.

Central Bulgaria. My small plot of land is parched through the heat, and my plants withered. Relief came last night with heavy rainfall. But it is too late to save my crops. The Wheat had been harvested, but I do not know how good it is

Burgas here - 34 - 38ºC and very humid but ZERO rain for over a month. The humidity is terrible.
Finally... it's so freaking hot in Romania for ages feels like now. Nobody remembers a heatwave this persistent and strong. We were used to 35-38C for some days in the summer but 40C every day for a week and 22C+ every night for a month almost.... aaaaaaaaargh

I never remember such consistent heat in Greece growing up at least not on the islands where I’m from now it’s 37 Celsius every day and you think that’s cold because it could be 43 Celsius and evenings don’t ever drop 30 on the island

All right, it sounds like we in Portugal and Spain will have to put up with drought and thick heat for the rest of the summer and further. Here in the middle of Ribatejo is so hot that the thermometer shows 43 when one gets into the car. They say it'll reach 40 during the coming week. Lucky little me who can always cool down going to Foz do Arelho where the temperature drops down to 23. Thanks again for your 5** weather program. Cheers.

I’m in Portugal too, it does feel like summer “hit” fast! There was a big wildfire somewhere around Leiria a couple days ago, not a good sign considering the real heat barely started.
This forecast is a prime example to my dislike of the Iberia weather, look rain forecast and see a "barrier" stopping all rain to bless us down here, and scorched Iberia increasingly to hot dry and desert trend. (Just the upper north regions of Portugal escape this, from Porto to Galiza to Braga and back to Atlantic cost.) Thank you for the work well done.

Great forecast, easy to understand. I'm in the South West UK. The last few days were quite warm according to my PWS, reaching over 30C. Today, down to 22.2C as I write this, overcast and not very summery. You've just gained a subscriber.

Here in Malaga Province Southern Spain it has been hot and a bit humid this week but we did have about twenty minutes when it rained! Which was lovely and pretty unusual for this time of year. 🌧️ 😅

I want just some chilly weather with no damaging winds or hail..
In Belgium it was 40°C, here in the middle of the Netherlands +/-35°C, too hot! Yesterday also, but with a cloudy sky. No winds at all. This evening I heard the thunder far away, but hardly a drop. This week has been very dry here. The other side of Utrecht (east) at the 'Utrechtse Heuvelrug' (forested hills) allways gets the rain.
Merci from France, central France here and the other day it was nuts.. wind rain and hail..today. 32 degrees & sunny. .. my UK skin still isn’t used to it.😊

Thanks for the weather update. Unfortunately we are still frying in Greece. Hitting 40 degrees in the day and most nights around 33-35 degrees. Never have I been so in love with my air conditioning. 😊

Here in SW Scotland, we've had quite nice weather much of the time. Enough rain and sunshine to keep the garden happy, that's all I want. Last year, the burning hot sunshine and 12 weeks of no rain was awful. I was dreading a repeat of that this year, so this has mixed weather been much easier to bear.
I love the cooler temperatures, and wish that every summer in Norway could be like this. If maybe with a few more sunny and not too hot days.

UK here and it is the first time it has felt like summer in about 4 weeks. Otherwise it has been about 10 degrees colder than normal and almost constant rain. Its even been cold enough to be wearing a coat outside on some days! Finally seeing some sunshine is almost a shock to the system! haha

This has been one rainy week in Finland.
Swap? Czechia is just too hot and dry. BTW, did you know there's a "false friend" word between Finnish and Czech? "ear" in Finnish is "korva", which means "slut" in Czech 🤣 I learnt this word from a song by the Finnish singer Chisu. I think Finnish is one of the most beautiful sounding languages in the world.
I prefer rain over heat any day!
Hello from Czechia, I am hoping for some cooler weather soon. I'm sick of it being around 30 every day. Sick of my clothes being wet from sweat no matter what I do and sick of not being able to sleep properly at night because it's too hot.

@Weather Watcher, thanks! Near the end of your video on the "temperature anomaly" slides the scale seems to be wrong on the top of the video. Temperature numbers do not match the colors somehow.
Hmm, I just looked back at it and confirmed it’s the scale attached to the weather model map. Could you explain what you mean by the colors not matching? Thank you! 🙂
@@WeatherWatcher14 I mean for example at 3:38 in the video (Saturday July 20) on the scale white is for 0C. And on the map most of Croatia is white. But the actual temperature in Croatia is around 20-25C and 30C at the coast. Similary red on the map show the hottest areas with 30-35C but on the scale red is 10C. The entire scale is off.
@@onthepegs It’s a temperature anomaly map, it’s not showing actual temperature. It’s showing you how much higher the temperature is compared to average.
Thanks for the honest reporting without all the hyperbole that weather reports are increasingly using.

You’re very welcome! I do, I like comparing all weather models and my favorites for forecasting are ICON, GFS, and ECMWF. I think August may bring one last “hope” for warmth/dryness in Ireland, because once we get past that point, we begin the downward slope into winter. I’ll be watching it closely!

We went to Kuşadası it’s was unbearably hot so much so we came home

As you said the heat is starting to move away, from 40°C it decreased to 37°C today, although this is still pretty hot. But around the second half of the next week temps will finally go down to 31°C and there may be some isolated T-storms in my area. Finally we can have some nice sleep at night😅

Well they just arrived from Chicago to Greece. It’s freaking hot. I mean it was hot Chicago but we’ve got air conditioning that actually works. We also had multiple days of tornadoes so that was awful. I’m very happy to hear that it might cool off here in Greece. The people here have been frying all summer long.
Maybe they should stop trying to control it and also they gotta stop spraying that stuff.Who do they think they are?Weather manipulation disrupts weather patterns.

This summer in middle Sweden sucks, no real summer heat and cool nights and not that much sunny weather! Need more sun and heat before the winter kicks in!

So many comments about their hot heat wave weather…. Spare a thought for us in the UK.. we’ve had about 5 days in total where we can define the weather as ‘summer’
It has been a constant conveyor belt of low pressure systems, rain, below average temperatures & grey cloud.. Utterly miserable

The Adriatic Sea is very warm, today eddies were recorded in the northern Adriatic, like a mini tornado, no wonder, the sea is currently 28°-30°, any strong influx of fresh air will be very dangerous because wind and thunderstorms, tourists be careful as soon as you notice that it is approaching, because the air mattresses could be blown towards the islands and Italy, take care of the safety of your life
Why when we do get a blue sky in the uk I see these lines that slowly meet each other then it’s cloudy over cast with drizzle later seems to happen every time
just so depressing that the UK is stuck in what looks like a never ending winter weather pattern of supercharged lows coming in form the Atlantic . Do you have any ideas why high pressure systems for the south just cant seem break through ? this is the second summer in a row this has happened !
Hard to say for sure, but I think El Niño may have played a part in that
Would love some proper thunderstorms for the UK. I can’t remember the last time we had one where i live. May? I miss those long hot Summer days and long night time thunderstorms we experienced back in the 1990s when i grew up (ironically with a massive thunderstorm phobia!).
May sounds about right, I remember that being the last time widespread storms occurred there. Too much of the “Pest from the West” has kept the warmth that we need for storms down in the mainland.
We've had a couple of thunderstorms in my part of the UK, Wirral, a house in my neighbourhood got hit with a bolt of lightning
The dark gloomy skies which have plagued Scotland all summer seem not worthy of a mention from UK MET Office, while they dance about dubious extreme temperatures of late two
hundred miles south in England. Weather systems no doubt follow lunar cycles and planetary activity, and it's my prediction August in Leo season will see Scotland's summer finally
arrive, if they refrain from cloud seeding, which was happening much of June.
Great forecasting Mr Weather Watcher, people holidaying in Europe may wonder why they bothered, given the extent of rainfalls predicted. Sod's Law!

That’sWhy The Pyrenees are the most important mountain chain in Europe which stops the cold and wet from sweeping down across the Mediterranean you notice as soon as you go from France to Spain the weather changes dramatically . And this variable weather sweeps across southern France and all the history that’s right I should get such a varied weather good weather but varied .
Absolutely, it’s also interesting how many times it seems like cold front cut off right on the Spain/France border, of course due to those mountains

good i am sick of the shitty summer we have had in the UK
30c today in northwest Germany 💀 We are not used to temperatures above 25c 😂 And did I mention that I have to drive for two hours today and my air conditioning is broken and the repair will cost more than my beat-up Dacia is even worth? 😂 I'm curious about thunderstorms in the night/morning, because my village rarely gets thunderstorms, strangely enough the thunderstorms often split beforehand and north and south get thunderstorms, we only get the lightning show from a few kilometres away and with a bit of luck some rain.

Magnetic Field + Pole position define BASE WEATHER. Poles are moving and field is weaker...and so. A CME hit on our crown Artic (with a weaker Mag. Field), pushes the weather systems down south and like a strike on a Pool table systems bubble around accordingly. SIMPLE.

I want to move to Iceland,😂 African anticyclones are getting stronger and bring sand from the Sahara more and more often and the hot waves last too long, I want the old Azores anticyclones that meant nice and not too hot weather on the Adriatic, everything has changed

I don't know what this clip represents, I don't get it. Like, German mainstream tv weather forecast is better. This is... just lousy. And after all... where exactly is that changing pattern?! I couldn't find it.
It’s a 4 minute video, it’s just a matter of listening to and watching what I was explaining. I made very clear that the interlude of warmer air in the UK/Ireland AND an end to the historic heatwave in the Balkans was the shift in the current pattern. By next week, further relief from the heat is on its way for the Balkan Peninsula, which is the continuation of this pattern change… despite rain returning to the UK and Ireland.
Historically, there is nothing 'severe' about this weather.
Think you're wrong there matey, Germany doesn't have continuous heavy thunderstorms from June through July and into August with more often temperatures in the 30's as well. These are more associated with sub tropical areas especially with the amount of rain that falls continuously
@@DavidGreen-ot2ni Obviously, you do not kn ow Germany as I do. I distinctly remember the Summer of 1976, it was so hot that you could not walk on the pavement in bare feet.
As for thunderstorms, how could you, or anyone else, know what the climate was in Europe before records were kept.

I think if you walk on any pavement or sand where the wind does not cool then you Have the same effect. I also remember the summer of '76 in England it was hot and dry for many weeks,above 35c but the summer was not as hot as the summer of '22 . 40c plus degrees for a week in Nottingham. Do you know how far north that is.

Well, it did change… briefly. A spell of warmer weather lasted a few days but now it’s returning to wetter/cooler.
