Fantails (Piwakawaka) will befriend you, they'll recognise you if you live in their territory. A fantail once offered me a cockroach and even put it closer to my feet when I didn't display a interest in the insect. My Piwakawaka friend would call from 50 meters away and zig zag toward me and perch upon my shovel as I worked on the farmlet.
Another classy video guys. You are amazing and would make great Kiwi's should you ever come back and live. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. All the best ❤
The Abel Tasman is a beautiful area that I used to sail my yacht from Nelson to Torrent Bay as well as flying to Takaka, Collingwood and Karamea, taking hikers to and from the Heaphy track. The Takaka hills are littered with caves including Harwoods Hole and is New Zealand's deepest vertical shaft at 183 Metres. There is also a cave at the top of Takaka Hill called Ngārua Caves and are are located close to Takaka Hill's summit.
you lived the dream my friend! living the good life in your days. very jealous that you sailed and got to experience some special memories! very challenging to reach all the caves though haha.
We had the best adventure in the Tasman region, up and over the Takaka hill in our old vw Kombi, love your videos showing some of the things we saw and some we missed. Looking forward to the next video as always!
wow what an amazing experience, hope you enjoyed every moment :) haha yeah these videos are a little behind, editing and getting videos is very difficult on an island right now in the pacific with no electricity or internet really :(
I remember flying up and down Takaka Hill in a camper van.. overtaking any slow-pokes because I was trying to get to the salmon farm before they closed 😅
Everywhere you have been/are going is where we have just been! I saw those black swans too, so unusual seeing so many. We are now at Kaiteretere relaxing after staying at Totarunui and walking two sections of the Abel Tasman track.
I know times so close for yous too leave NZ, I hope you have enjoyed NZ ,it's really a beautiful country, how would it rate with other countries you've visited. I know it's so far from everywhere in the world but that's OK. Love your videos Glen and Mado.
thanks so muhc for your special words :) will definitely have a question and answer video at the end of our new zealand series which may take quite a while! haha
Yikes that will be probably after another 20 new Zealand videos! we need this backlog of footage as we will be taking time off f in Europe with family for a month or so.
Thank you for all your hard work in making an excellent video for us to watch. And enjoy the tour of NZ. Which some places in December we also drove through and past. We were like gypsies. 10 days visit, then we had to move on. But you have had 10/ 11 months of driving and camping (And doing the odd jobs). Again, Thank you.
Love your vids guys, although it's not easy to catch your accent all the time. Love the content and you as a couple! Where did you get the car, a motorhome whatever, which Mado was cooking at? Did you rent it?
@@GlenAndMado at the Hawkes lookout if you look straight down you would have seen a carpark for the Riuwaka resurgence … it’s amazing also. So hey … you’ll have to come back sorry Ü
Are you guys editing old footage? I thought you had left NZ. Also visitors we posed in front of the Takaka mural and as cine buffs were impressed with what their cinema had to offer.
Hey Tony! Yeah but it’s very challenging to upload everything in the present time as editing takes hours and while you’re on the road that’s a challenge so building up a backlog is the only way! Basically have about 20 more videos I’d say!
@@GlenAndMado Well, that's great! I lived for 15 years in NZ but it was only on return visits that I went from the Catlin's Coast to Cape Reinga. I was there in Feb/March with my partner for his first ever visit, catching up with friends and relatives. We spent five days in Nelson with my sister and her husband. My partner said it was like paradise, so we will be watching more of your output for sure.
Glen to Mado "my lady" - priceless appreciation.
you got that right haha

I’ve been in Rawhiti cave too and loved it! Love to do the lookouts on Takaka hill too, and Harwood’s Hole, just amazing!
It was super special didn’t realise it would be so cool!
No other youtubers uploading as consistently as Glen and Mado 🍙
wish we could do it every 2 days but very challenging when you have no power or electricity haha
@@GlenAndMado Every two days might be too much ...
Yay!! Glen finally found his ultimate cave! 😃
hahhaha was absolutely amazing 😂😂
I have never been there. I live in the West Coast where you cross the Sourthern Alps. You haven’t been stunned yet.
We have been there don't worry 😉

Wow! Stalactites (stalac-tight - holds on tight so doesn't fall off), stalagmites (stalac-might - might reach the ceiling)
yeah it was amazing to experience such a cave! Absolutely beautiful!

Back in the day Takaka Hill had 365 bends, not sure if that's still the case.
Nice one again team Mado and Glen.

Love it.

@GlenAndMado please don't tell me you have left nz? I feel empty...nz feels empty
its worth it just to hear your pronunciation of maori place names =)
Oh man! painful to watch, dyslexia is a struggle!
@@GlenAndMado Not painful at all.... Takaka has the emphasis on the Ta, the first ka is short and the second ka is a bit longer... its all good =)
so nice
thanks Marvin!
Mado thought that all thoughs spikes might come down and if there was an earth quake that would not be the best place to be.
