Started going gray in late 20s. Dyed my hair all through my 30s. Finally my hairstylist told me to go natural and rock it. That was about 46 . I’ve been gray ever since. I got lots of compliments when I went gray. At 52...I’m grateful to have hair.

At the end of the day, it’s just colour (or lack thereof). Embrace what you have and rock it with confidence. That’s what makes a positive impression on other people. One’s personality should outshine their beard. Peace and Love

“We should strive to be content.”
Greg, I needed those words right now, and it just so happens I heard them from a beard color video. Contentment is not an alternative to happiness. It’s a pathway. And it’s not as easy as it sounds. Thank you.

Going bald... going grey.... it is what it is. Doing a dye job 99% of the time looks fake. I'd rather be an honest grey and bald than look plastic.

I'm growing a beard for 2,5 years. At the beginning, I was frustrated with several grays in my 33, so I was cutting them. But later I found that it's something that I can't control and that grays are me. I've embraced them, so now I have dozens of grays, almost like Carlos. It's better to gray gradually, than to color them.

I am 55 years old and started going grey in my mid 20's. Going grey runs in my family at a young age and never really had any concerns about it. The saddest thing I see is a guy who gets a bad dye job, I say just accept it, as I do going bald and wrinkles. Glad to see you maintaining a professional classic look, unlike another youtube personality I use to watch. Beard on and looking forward to the next video.

The point of my comment was that you look awesome and it would be a shame for you to change that by dying your hair.
I've had some grey hairs coming through for the last few years. I'm 27 now, and they are becoming more prominent. I wouldn't do anything to speed it up or slow it down, but I'm just enjoying the process of watching things change.
This video has made me reflect. Over the last few months of growing my beard and coming across beard brand videos, I've taken a very different approach towards myself. I've got two opposing things - I'm both taking more care of my appearance, while being more accepting of whatever is flawed/unique about myself. It's great, and Beardbrand has played a big part in that.
So thanks Greg, Jeff, Eric, Carlos and all the team and Beardbrand. You're doing great work!

I will tell you why I want my hair to hurry up and go full grey. Although, I would say about 20% of my hair is grey. I have worked in the same place for the past 15 years and I am 39 years old. Most of the people I work with have still been there longer than I have. Working in our IT department, people still consider me as a kid because I started working there when I was 26. Still being the younger of the workforce, people don't fully realize that I have friends my age who are grandparents now. I don't fully get taken seriously. My boss and I both suffer from this. We are the only 2 members of our department. So, we run into a lot of road blocks because the older generation still feels like we do not have the age or experience that they do. I can't make them realize that they were 39 when we came on board, and they had much higher ranks and were taken more seriously than we are at 39. So, I'm looking forward to more visual representation of my age so that people will treat us as the adults we are.

I’m 25 now, and I currently have quite a lot of grey hair on my head. I noticed the first grey hairs when I was 17 and I was so afraid back then, because I was so young and I couldn’t explain why this would happen to me. Stress? I don’t think so, because how stressed can a 17-year-old boy be? I think it is mostly due to genetics. Now that I’m 25 I’ve recently started to enjoy those grey hair of mine, also because a lot of girls love the salt and pepper look on a man...they say that in a few years it will make me look a lot like Patrick Dempsey lol! Anyway, I’m never going to dye my hair...I want to accept myself for who I am, no matters what other people think, and I want to take and be grateful for what Mother Nature gave to me!

I've had a few greys for years, starting in my mid 20's, I'm approaching 33 now and there hasn't been a massive increase, just the odd one beard wise and they come through white rather than grey. I have a really bad habit of pulling my beard hairs out and the grey/whites actually made them targets despite the fact I loved them being there.
The contrast between light and dark looks good to me. A friend the same age as me dyed his hair from his early - mid 20's as he is full on grey. Then he just let it be and it's just the norm now. His beard is still fully dark which is a bit odd. He was embarrassed about the grey at a young age and spent who knows how much on hiding it?
My approach is that I embrace going grey but I have zero desire to fake it.
I guess it's just a colour at the end of the day. Just like people dye their hair brunette, they are free to go grey or white.
Suspect a lot of younger people making it white or grey will look stupid though as it does suit a more aged face. I'm ready and waiting ☺️

I personally think that young people regardless of sex should embrace their youth , no grey hair , no beards. Instead of trying to wish for father time to come faster. I started going gray in my teens I remember seeing my first few gray hairs when I was 15 at the front right of my head hair. Fast forward to 32 and I am 80% gray on my head, my sides is basically all gray while the top is a little bit black left.
My beard is about 60-40 in favour of gray and the chest hair is following. I'm not bothering about it, it is who I am. I've always been told by people that I'm wiser than my years so maybe it's just playing out on me physically now.

In the words of Hercule Poirot, "Straighten your tie" :) Other than that, looking great! The gray/white is definitely a plus. I used to dye my beard when the gray was first coming in but my skin underneath reacted rather negatively to the Just For Men beard dye that I was using and I developed open sores which while not really serious was still not a result I desired. I then tried an all natural, temporary, henna-based beard color called Wolfshead which was quite gentle and actually worked pretty well. It would shampoo out over time though and did over time change the color of the beard even after it washed out so you'd lose the nice white/gray until it grew out. Eventually, I just stopped worrying about it and realized it just looked better if I left it alone. I always looked older than I was from my first mustache at 16 and beard at 17 so why sweat it now? So what if I look 60 when I'm in my mid 40's? lol Actually, I think my skin looks younger with the beard because of all the extra Beardbrand oil and balm that gets rubbed into my face when doing my beard.
Beard on and keep on growing!

I'm 33 and glad I'm not graying yet (or god forbid balding), it trips me out there's guys my age that are already gray af and actually feel proud of it and don't mind looking old! I think younger dudes in their 20s might like trying it out just for fun, but once you're old for real, you'll be glad to still look young.

I'm now starting to grow my first full beard in decades, having only had goatees in the past. The main reason I think is that greying, or more like whiting in my case of my facial hair. I think we just need to remember that it's a natural process and even at 53 I still consider myself 18 inside! I'm now on my 4th week of growth, and although grey, and a tad scruffy at the moment, it's getting compliments. Thanks for your inspirational videos :)

I just turned 74 and 2+ months into a Covid beard. I realize that I'm not young anymore (and my body proves that to me daily) and even wanting to look young is in the rear view mirror. That is, I want a white beard and fortunately that's how it's coming in. Just slight salt and pepper in the mustache but that's OK. Otherwise I'm near to a 'Ken Rogers' beard and am impatient to get to the 4 month mark where I can consider what style I really want and see my barber. My teenage granddaughter thinks I should go full Santa, so there's that. No opposition from my wife either, thankfully. At 30ish I did my first beard, very dark and very unkempt and it only lasted a year or so. This time around there is so much more information available and I'm really enjoying the white beard and all the options I have. I'd post a picture here if I could but social media experts can find me and my beard out there in the ether.

I'm 32 and over the last 2 years I've pulled about a handful of gray/white hairs from my beard. Now probably in about 10 years from now I'll dye my beard because I haven't seen any gray/white hairs on the top of my head. My hair is thinning out on top, too.

I used to be able to cut out all the white hairs. Until it got totally out of control and i couldn't keep up. At that point I just totally gave up and embraced it. White/gray hair. Embrace the suck!

I didn't have much of a problem with going grey or going bald. I'm guessing mainly because as far back as I can remember, my father was bald from the front to the crown and the rest was grey. Growing up with my dad like that, I was probably already use to the concept when it started happening to me. I have had a few people tell me that I would look younger if I colored my beard but I'm liking the grey so, it stays!

Turning 54 this year, but I've dyed my beard since I was in my 20's. When I was young, my beard didn't have a uniform color, with brownish, more blondish, and even reddish areas and looked patchy and uneven. So having started back then just to have a uniform color that matched my natural hair color, I've continued. I started balding in my late 20's and by my 30's I began shaving my head. Then I started dying it to more closely match my eyebrows, but as the gray has become more prominent, most of the patchy coloring is gone and has turned gray and only the darkest parts of my original color have remained. I'm liking where it's ending up.

I think the main factor is that naturally grey hair often is very coarse, while dyed hair can be soft and healthy looking while still giving you a wise appearance

So many do not really go grey ever. You only get grey hair if your hair was black once.. However, if you were blonde, redhead or had brown hair, your hair will be a mix of that and white hair..but not grey.

Last time I grew a beard was about 7 years ago. My hair was mostly brown with a few grays. I didn’t keep my beard more than a month.
Just a few months ago I decided to grow a beard for good, meaning that I’m determined to keep it no matter what. Somewhat to my surprise my beard is mostly gray now. But I like it.
My aim is for my beard to look as natural as possible, which means no trendy beard styles.
I’m currently writing a book that will discuss the history of shaving, and why it’s unnatural. My research is what led me to finally make the decision to go natural, and fight against social engineering.

    • @Beardbrand
      @Beardbrand  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Totally get that, we don't all have to go for the trendiest styles. Sometimes the absolute best look for us is to just go natural with what our beards want to do. That's not to say that you shouldn't take care of your beard but letting it growing is a great way to go!

My hair started changing at 16. I dyed it into my early 20s, but it started to thin, and I worried it was the dye causing that. By 30, my hair was pure white. 41 now, and everyone seems to love the white hair. I get asked if I color it white all the time, and yes old ladies want to touch it for some reason.

I feel I may be in the minority to not want grey hair yet. Part of me is content with the fact I am thirty seven without gray hair yet, and without a longer beard, I look younger than my real age. At the same time, due to a younger appearance, I have always found myself wanting to dress, speak, and act in a more mature manner to be taken seriously.

My hair genetics haven't been that great on me.
I started to recede at 15/16, sported my first grey head hairs at 18/19.
I'm now 28, almost 29. Most of my head hair is grey, what I have left - major hairloss but I keep it shaved to the bone. I'm actually having SMP next week to make it look like I have a full head of shaved hair.
I started getting a few greys in my beard about 2-3 years ago, I now have about 15-20 in my chin after recent inspection couple months ago (I keep my beard couple of inches long).
At first I was devastated "oh no, first my head and now I'm losing my lovely black beard".
Now I just want it all to go grey quickly cos I honestly think it will look awesome with a shaved head as long as its neat and trimmed. There are greater things to worry about in life. I'm just gonna rock my greying beard with confidence until I get that Geralt of Rivia look.

  • @TheMarkanthony5
    @TheMarkanthony5 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Personally myself at 55 I don't know why you would want to dye your hair grey. If you are young
I've coloured my hair medium to dark brown since I was in my late 30s .
But at 55 I'm in a dilemma as to should I just let my hair go grey.
My parents bless them say I can still get away with darker hair. Yet my grandparents did not colour their hair and were still dark until their early 70s
But I feel at 55 am I just making a fool of myself.
My actual grey shade I don't like it's like an oxidizing aluminium,.
But I have thought about colouring it silver grey. Which to me is a nice shade of grey more dynamic.
So I'm going to try this and if it makes me look way older I will colour it back Brown the same day.
    Like I said dilemma!

Alot of people in "my generation" (late 30s - early 40s) want to look older and get grey or don't care about it, I believe, because it gives them an excuse to be lazy and not exercise and not be as active and be like "oh I'm old now," even though they're not....I have grey at the temple and on my chin and that looks good because of the contrast with blond/brown hair elsewhere. But I don't want to be all grey!!!!!
