Great video - I have 4 B&G 100 inline and one has just started leaking it is 50 years old- which taco would you recommend to replace it with? many thanks
Mi Heating Guy Hey I just replaced my BnG pump I went back with another BnG pump which I kind of regret, but that's besides the point...when I shut the two water valves off to isolate the pump to take it out they weren't as close as the ones you have there...there was about 5 feet of pipe going each way...after installing I didn't bleed any of the radiators out because I didn't have the key to open the valves at the time...after a day or two noticed I wasn't getting as much heat as usual and the pump starting making some noise...I bled out all the radators at that point...i bled each one that I could about a gallon of water out of each...I didn't seem to get much air...now the pump is still making some noise the heat seems to work a little better but it's hard to tell...not really sure what to do now...do you think I bled it out enough...I also let out about 4-5 gallons of water out of the valve by the boiler
One of the bearing assemblies was leaking and the other pump was seized up who is just more cost effective to change the pumps out as always thanks for watching
It's good practice to clean the mating surface when applying new gaskets
Which company makes better pumps Taco or Bell & Gossett?
No concern for pump curve differences on these pump swap outs bud?
If you oil these pumps, Install Spiralink coulers and put new motor mounts on they will last forever.
Thanks, did that yesterday. Great video.
Great Job
Looks like fun , I like Taco 007 pumps
Great job, you just saved me some $$$, but I am still not clear on locking off my system

That pink tile on floor looks alot like the old 9x9 asbestos tiles. Was that an old building?
Great job. So thankful for TH-cam, guys like myself that are from the south do not get to see this stuff up close and personal.
Hope this helps if you ever run across any problems with pumps thanks for watching

GOOD VIDEO , BUT ? WHY DON'T YOU PUT SOME GOOD LIGHTING ON WHAT YOU ARE DOING , WOULD ALSO BE EASIER FOR US . THANKS.
Noted
What was the issue with the pumps? just old and noisy, and no amount of oil would quiet them down?

Is Taco superior to B & G ? I need to replace mine.
Yes at least it is now modern tech
They usually quit after about 7 years, while a B&G could last for 50 yrs or more if you take care of it.
Geez spend another 5 bucks and get new bolts
