It sickens me that even after all this new information, multiple courts ruled against Gary being granted a new trial and he unfortunately died in prison in 2018 after serving over two decades for a crime he did not commit! I really hope he is at peace now ❤
As for Heidi Allen, what she went through in her last moments is beyond heartbreaking and my heart goes out to her family and I'm so sorry that her family have been left with pretty much no justice or answers at all. And for what? Because a bunch of stuck up, arrogant fools didn't want to admit they were wrong and just wanted to pass blame onto anyone for good reputation points!? ... Absolutely disgusting!

How could an innocent man be in prison for 25 years and no one looked into this case again- there was nothing solid against him. I worry about the woman that came forward. She was so unbelievably brave by doing so, but I pray for her safety. She deserves to be under a witness protection program!!! This is all around horrible.

Just found out that his brother died in prison,
Years later, it was revealed that Heidi Allen was working as a teen drug informant under the alias "Julia Roberts" at the time of her disappearance and that the deputy she was working with had lost an identification card two years prior to the incident, in which it was stated that Allen was an informant.
Gary's defense team didn't have this important piece of information, which may or may not have changed the case. Even though Gary's lawyers took his case all the way to the state's highest court, he never got a new trial and ended up dying in jail.

Although they are proven innocent later on, innocent people can't bring back time. They deserve justice, an apology, peace, happiness, and people who would care and love them.

Yes but you also have to see how people get themselves there. I mean people admit to things they didn’t do or come in and lie to the police about other things that makes them look bad. People usually cock it up for themselves honestly by acting really stupid. This guy didn’t see anything, he called to insert himself in an investigation he really didn’t belong in. I can see how they jumped to him when she was seen being shoved into the same van that he has and then he calls and says “hey I was there I think I saw her”. I’m not saying him and his brother should be railroaded, but people act really dumb when being questioned and the police are looking for these odd characters and cues.

That time is when the defense looks at the case and continues to investigate to eventually appeal if they found the right evidence to do so.

Steve never got an issue helping get people locked up, but when it’s someone innocent he NEVER even offers to try and help bring them home. He’s a former police officer, I’m sure his word would be significant if he vouched for these people.

    • @MajorJim69
      @MajorJim69 ปีที่แล้ว +9

That’s stupid. His word as a “police officer” isn’t going to do anything. He is helping. He helped them get one of the best lie detector tests available. He also broadcasted it to his wide range of viewers/subscribers.

You can somehow tell that Steve still feels a bit uncomfortable with stories like this one. He used to be a police officer, which is a big part of his identity. Admitting that the system doesn't work the way it should, seems to be quite hard on him.

Update: the brother died in prison and never got his freedom in his life anyway. There's more to this story...Hedi was working as a teen drug informant under the alias "Julia Roberts" when she dissappeared and the deputy she was working with had lost an identification card two years prior to the incident. The lost card named Hedi Allen as the informant "Julia Roberts. " Also keep in mind this happened in New York, land of dirty cops so none of this really surprises me unfortunately. I hope that family gets their proof and sue's the living shit out of the police department.

I shouldn’t be surprised anymore but im always so blown away by how broken the justice system is.
I don’t know about anyone else but if I committed a crime especially one as Heynis as this crime I’m certainly not going to call the police to place myself At the scene of them crime. This man was just trying to be helpful.
Cases like this showcase that too many officials only care about putting someone away for the crime regardless of weather it’s the correct perpetrator.
As someone who watches ALOT of true crime I’ve seen alot of lazy police work cause innocent people to be put in jail for crimes they didn’t commit and I’ve seen far to many guilty people walk free or barely get slapped on the wrist for gross crimes like this.

So...she told the truth that someone said he did it and the other dude who was innocent died in prison. And still to this day after all the information the actual murderer gave to this woman and her friend they still haven't found the body or even bothered to interrogate the suspect who confessed? POLICE! WTF YOU DOING!?!?! Obviously she knows who it is she is telling the truth and you all just sitting on your asses because you don't want to bother filling out all the paperwork. And yes I know that is why this isn't going anywhere because when I was raped the cops didn't do shit when I reported it they told me they didn't want to have to fill out all the paperwork.
And I've had many cops after that tell me the same shit. IT'S PART OF YOUR FUCKING JOB! IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT FIND A DIFFERENT JOB AND LET SOMEONE WHO WILL DO ALL OF THEIR JOB CORRECT! This is why I hate police their suppose to protect and serve but yet they are getting lazy as fuck and don't want to do neither. Why do we still have the system? Why do we still have police officers? If nobody wants to do their job properly you might as well say fuck it all instead of using tax payers money to continue to put towards something nobody wants to even bother with. And while we are at it might as well just let all the murderers, rapists, etc all back out on the streets. Because by this point it seems as though they never really left since the cops are sitting on their fucking asses.
Can't wait for the police to rescue your ass now a days. Gotta be prepared and protect yourself.
