The little bird house-looking things are probably supposed to be roadside altars. They are still common in certain slavic countries today, though they are dedicated to christian saints rather than pagan gods or local tutelary deities.
The religion this game is based on is Baltic Paganism, i.e. paganism from the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. That is Latvia and Lithuania today.
It is similar to Norse and Germanic Paganism, obviously related, but still quite unique. Meness or Mènuo is the Moon, and Aušrinè is the Morning Star. You get three guesses who Saulè is.

The game looks amazing.
The voice acting is a bit funny cause it feels like the voice actor for Meness was trying their best not to laugh the whole time. Like I can hear his smile, if that makes sense.

Lock stun is when you chain multiple stun in a row to prevent a target from doing anything, not a single area stun.
i`ve been waiting for a WARCRAFT 4 for the longest time. since frozen throne is like the best RTS. we might not get a WC4 sooner or later, but i`ll take what i can. this looks good.
I would love to see custom scenarios and or maps similar to the WC3 map editor tool and the AoE2 Custom scenario maker !

Would have appreciated if the game looked a bit better than my memories of WC3. The textures seem to blur together. This might still be a great game, but the blurry textures really take away a lot of the fantasy atmosphere.
Looks swell! I'd love to go crusading in the Baltics! Hopefully they can make a campaign for Saint Michael and bring in other saints and angels like Saint Gabriel or Saint George.

i have always liked games like this but unless i can build a fortress and play a defensive strategy instead of someone just swarming me with an endless stream of soldiers i find these games to all play the same.
that was so painful to watch you struggle with the camp in the 2nd mission, glad you got it eventually
It looks really good and has great reviews. However I wait till launch to buy it. I have learned my lesson purchasing games in alpha phase.

Not sure if it was somehow sarcasm that I didn't detect but WC3 did have a remaster and it was not only a huge upset and very bad, but it actually forced an update on the original WC3, removing important features that people liked, completely ruining it. That is why it is the worst rated game in history (or was?).
But Diablo 2's remaster was perfectly fine and enjoyable as far as i hear, same with Starcraft. They are essentially just graphical overhauls..

Its look like our slavic gods but changed gender. God of Moon(nature and wild animals) Devana was presented as a female, god of sun (fire and wolfs) Dabog presented as male. Nice for a change

Kinda reminds me of an old RTS called Battle Realms. But that's probably because Battle Realms was so generic

It's graphics resembling something like dota2 or LoL is a dealbreaker for me, otherwise it's a decent game, surely better then Warcraft 3 Reforged

Still just watching the intro stage. This is doing a very strong impression of WC3. Similar visuals, units have a lot of health and so take a long time to die. Not great. WC3 was probably my least liked Blizzard RTS. But to be fair it was still better than 90% of the competition. As long as they don't have any analogue to the "Upkeep" mechanic. That sucked, I would like my army to be bigger than 6 units.
Godsworn demo was already better than WC3. It has larger armies, you level up your faith (global skill set) instead of op heroes units, it has some fresh ideas about economy and auto-recruiting workers like in Northgard. I think it's worth to take a closer look into it. It's not a clone of WC3, but something new and that's cool already :P

"Pagan" is Pre-Roman British
well the Baltic peoples were called "pagans" by the Teutonic knights who went on their crusade in the Baltics. That was well after the times of the Roman Empire.
I hope not died down or lost in early access like rts games folk tales, I have high hope then, but in the end it's dead
not a fan of the story/lore so far. like the art and art style but the UI elements need work IMO (lacking charm/flair/character/style)

We already had a remake of WarCraft 3 from Blizzard, WarCraft 3: Reforged. It's HORRIBLE compared to the old Wc3... User score of 0.6 on Metacritic and deservingly so.

Because everything made for Warcraft is owned by Blizzard. Including Chronicles of the Second War and every other custom map/campaign. Not everyone wish to support Blizzard or work for free...

Just a thought. For RTS with sieges, each unit should have a morale bar that reduces when they see their allies killed and if goes to zero, they either flee back to the camp or surrender to the closest enemy unit.
Would turn battles into snowballs.

Warcraft 3 in 2024!
Raptor, about 5 years ago maybe, there developed this trend amongst gaming channels on YT of creators making their title a mystery... like yours above. Most cc let this incredibly annoying (sorry, just being honest) trend die about 2 years ago.
I love your vids, you're one of the reasons I found maybe my fave game ever, but quite a while ago I stopped clicking on your vids (or anyone's vids, really) unless the name of the game was included in the title. I barely watch your vids now because of this, and most days I pass over your vids because of your mystery title. I would really encourage you to discontinue this trend (it seems like you may have started to, which is why I chimed in now, to encourage you). I mean there's another person commenting on this vid giving you this exact feedback. Please listen to your viewers. I know I'm just some nerd in your comments but I'd love to start watching your vids again.
Hope its alpha cuz that gameplay is sooo janky.
Also the choice of that very ugly mobile art style will keep most of rts players away.

In the region of Lithuania lived the last pagans in Europe. The Teutonic Order invaded them at the order of the pope, and the result can still be seen on the map even today. Also many Baltic ethnicities went extinct as a consequence. The church was bad in this case.
@@pasaniucdaniel4112 you do know pagans were absolutely ruthless themselves right? Why do people romanticize brutal pagan societies? Vikings for example were absolutely horrific and horrible people. But people love them. Their religion, practices and actions were worse in every respect. But Vikings and other pagans get portrayed positively all the time. It’s really weird.

@@Whydoesthissitesuckit’s not historically accurate. The church was a force for good in so many respects. Be it the worth of humans, women (this can’t be overstated), the family, the poor. The preservation of knowledge, philosophy, science, education etc. Healthcare and the help for the poor. The most just and mild court system europe had ever seen. Evidence was now of important and harsh punishments, including the death penalty, were now very rare compared to worldly courts during the medieval period and antiquity where only social standing mattered. Antiquity was brutal. Of course europe was not a theocracy and the churches recommendations and decrees were often ignored, but it was overall a force for good. Our modern western judicial systems owe much to the church.
Almost every popular modern trope about the medieval church is wrong btw. Compare that to the romanticization of pagan societies in modern western society (like the Vikings or Romans) and in western media. Even though their practices, societies, religions, philosophies and ethics were far more brutal. Medieval Christian’s were horrified by Romes brutality and practices.
