But: Can you play it vs AI too? (i think it's useful long term if you do not like the balance anymore, or the maker not updating it anymore - i mean you can't expect him to for years)
(AI would have to have the race pick function off, or they simply start with the race you picked for them in lobby) Also some player simply don't want to play pvp for custom maps. (as they might not be too good, or they just want to have fun with the new races like in campaign but in a more custom set up) It's easy to put it off for AI but some makers "forget".
Watching Grubby discover and play these new custom maps is like browsing custom games again on WC3!
Seems difficult to find some more comprehensive balance, but the ideas are really cool.

There used to be another custom map I played all the time that had almost 12 races. It had furbolgs, Naga, burning legion, spiders, and more. This takes me back!

I played this map also with my younger brother. This makes want to play it again so bad.
Honestly, it's a really cool idea, these new and intriguing things. Wc3 might not see this kind of innovation, but future creators and developers might take notice of these implications. The idea of always adding and increasing, even in an RTS, will always be welcome, even in pro play (I truly believe)

@Лифф Эриксон impossible, but it doesn't need to be perfect, it can be tweaked and new builds and races can be more powerful for a time. Like in WoW PvP, or in mobas.

Technically this map should playable with reforged graphics. Would be cool see a quick showcase of that
Ah making custom races like this is how I spent a lot of time in the wc3 map editor. I had a map where you could play as gnolls, centaurs and ogres :D
you might be interested to know blizzard made a special event map where you can pick your race and play as a bunch of different forest themed races like spiders centaurs gnolls and satyrs.

There is a mod called Custom Races/Faction on Hive that is still being actively updated, each faction has a map of its own and some maps allow up to 8 players, altough I'm not sure if other players can pick different factions in a FFA style game as I've only played it with AI.
There are a LOT of these maps, we need some sort of list, especially the decades old ones that are forgotten but were far more comprehensive.
i agree but considering that some map breaks when warcraft is updated and unabled to be played i doubt those map will be playable unless they were remade

now i don't know if reforge made those map playable again but back in the day i remember trying to run a map of dota .17 trying to see changes and it won't run

stopped playing warcraft around 2015 or 2014 and i know for a fact that those versions of warcraft can't run really old maps
Not sure why, but when I saw the voidwalkers mining and felling trees it made me think of WoW TBC. I don't remember which zone it was but there was a quest chain on a slightly steep hill area at the edge of the zone involving voidwalkers running around gathering energy and whatnot.

Stumbled across your channel about 2 weeks ago, instant sub, ordered a USB cd-rom so I can install my old wc3 / Frozen throne CD's and start playing again! Love the content and these playable races look so cool! Your channel is like McDonald's, "I'm Lovin' it!" 😁
As a heads up, you can't play online with the old copies at this point. You might be better off returning the CD drive and just buying Reforged if multiplayer is something that interests you

This makes the game fun. Inclusion of more races will bring back competitive rts Centaurs furbolgs.
If Happy played on that map, he'd pick Undead
Fun fact: I have old Blizzard catalogs that advertise WC3 as having a 5th playable race called demons. It also claimed the game would have flying heroes.

Man I spent most of my life from time to time playing Warcraft 3. For me all time the best RTS strategy ever. I always wanted WC4, that would have new races that are playable. Today, I found out, because of you, that these maps allready exist for a lot of years and U dont need WC4. So awesome.
I will not be sleeping too much tonight, grinding WC3 until the morning :D
i used to play similar maps back in 2004 with nagas chaos orcs etc it was a blast when we gather in lan party

I think you should check the standard factions too. Since there 5 heroes in the new ones, so I think they may add the new heroes for existing.

This feels extremely similar to a map with extra races too. The name of the map is Gnoll Woods xtra races.

I can't remember clearly but I remember there's an additional 4 races to choose after Reigns of Chaos in Frozen Throne expansion? All I could tell is the OG Blademaster is green and the new Burning Legion is red blademaster.
The red one became Juggernaut model in Dota

This is so great. Looks like a lot of potential to actually give new sparks to the game. However, i believe it will be hard to balance 8 races. Anyhow, please make it work, so one day we can have tournaments with these new races ❤
Balance is overrated
Kaikkk, this is not just about balance... with 8 playable of course the goal is more the fun and wishes of people ever wanting such playable folks, rather than total perfect balance longterm which btw 3 is the best number for. (4 is still ok but it's the limit. Also we always see domination in wc3 still)
Let me say: These tribes were often demanded after campaign, so now here we go, but instead we have people joining to complain cause they only know one thing in their life: wc3 competitive 1v1... Sorry! but your comment is like the 10-100th saying this very obvious kinda negative thing? it's unnecessary, I don't see the maker ever having labeled it as the new wc3 replacement. And "tournaments" KEKW is that your first thing in mind? Of course... There is and will always be balancing by maker but obv not forever and obv won't be sufficient unless you make all 8 sides relatively the same and thusly boring. We don't want boring and same and we don't expect the maker to do us this free service forever. Fun fact: *Actually the maker stopped 2010!!* You should know Grubby is uploading many "promising" clickbaits, (from old maps!, to titled AFK'ing but then the enemy never scouting him!) so yea this is really just for fun.
This just shows how much untapped potential this game has yet.

i remember spending hours and hours making a map where you could choose more races, only to realize balancing races is not an easy job and my own custom races were either stupidly OP or useless lmao
Too bad there is no "modifications" function in wc3. Sc2 really has so many great features, that are missing in this "remastered" (reforged)
*Putting this as a mod to any melee map would be extremely great.* Not only like for FFA or bigger team maps, but also if you think the balance isn't too great, (longterm usage of map) it can still be great fun on bigger maps with a friend(s) vs (many) computers, like 3v6 AI or so. (AI of course should auto pick their default race - or the feature is off for them = they start as usual) | *Really sick map, thanks for testing* / highlighting I wouldn't have known about it. | PS: for the newbs: Melee means standard-versus map (the ones that are or were in ladder or are like it)
Beautiful that the community shows initiative to make such mods in addition to their daily jobs. While there are people at Blizzard who are paid for this to come up with such ideas. What a great community. I hope Blizzard takes notes on this.

Okay so, call me crazy but I vividly remember there being another Warcraft 3 "expansion" called the Burning Legion or something
It had the image of something that looked like a Lich on the cover and it had a varient race for all 4 races through a menu that pops up during initialization.
So if you go Human, you get the option to pick High Elf, go Orc and you get Fel Orcs, go Night Elf and you get Creeps, and go Undead and you get Burning Legion.
I don't remember much from when I played it, but what I do remember is that its systems are way better than this, the worker for the BL for instance was a orc warlock and had to summon buildings, or that the Creeps race had no Heroes, only lvl 10 Creeps
I like how modders are doing what Blizzard should have done 20 years ago.

7:20 not sure if you notice, but the hero Raider has pillage from the start (you didn't mention it)
I want to mention demon race (The Burning Legion) lorewise is a race of different worlds, altought infernals, void walkers, fel guard, doom guard are acceptable, but satyr is a night elf just mutated from demon blood, but they almsot never served the Burning Legion, they follow Xavius ruled by old gods, and also dragonspawn is a humanoid morphed into dragon which is from Azeroth and is againt Burning Legion, this kind of race and map needs an big upgrade.
Archimonde is used to portray Eredar, Shadow Demon.
I'd like to see that satyr creep (without cheats). Permanent invisibility sounds totally op.

In DOTA 1 is a Lycan. Shadow Demon is a Gnoll.
This map has some cool ideas but its kind of slapdash in execution.

It's like an extra effort was made to make a funny spelling mistake into at least one ability per unit and structure... Strenght. Brolt. Deceipt.
Really neat idea but the roster units could have been improved greatly. Lava creature? Dragonspawns? Is this a demon faction or Legion TD?
Felhounds as base unit, Felguard as a heavier option, Succubus as ranged etc would have made a lot more sense.

Grubby! Please try out Warhammer Eternal Strife, a map from hive based on warhammer fantasy battle. It has numerous custom factions with four+ subfactions each. It has a campaign, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 1v1v1v1 maps. I hope you likes it!! ✨

Can you win with a No Retreat, No Surrender philosophy? Don't run away when you unit is about to die. Run forward and let him attack the enemy base, every point of damage counts!
I remember a hero from DotA 1 that used the Eredar model and had a "Finger of Death" ability. One time an opponent, who had the color brown, was trying to gank me using that hero, and my friend said on Ventrilo: "Careful, brown is gonna finger you from behind." Never going to forget that.
You mean Lion with orc warlock model i guess
The only heroes that uses the "Eredar Warlock" model are Lycan with Kiljaden model and Shadow Demon uses Archimonde.
Considering that neither of them uses the "Finger of Death ability," he might he have used a Dagon on you? I mean People used to buy Dagon on Lion in the old WC3 DotA because it has the same effect as his ultimate, and Zeus with Maelstrom because, well, lighting. People were so naive back then, it's so funny.
@@wojciechwolak2832 Could have been an older version of DotA (not Allstars). IIRC the original WC3 Archimonde also had Finger of Death.
@@payaso216 I think it wasn't DotA Allstars. It was an older version that also had a Dreadlord that could make dozens of mini-Dreadlords.
Demon's units seem broken. Even the peons have mana burn

I understand it may not be your cup of tea, but I'd love to see you try some custom campaigns maybe! There's so many good ones out there with a bunch of custom models and some of them even have voice acting!

@@sosaukr6666 I dont know about this map, but some campaigns are playable or even designed to play with reforged gfx.

oh boy I remember the time I get to pick my gift for christmas(between 2006-2007) so we went to that computer shop(internet cafe) that sells pirated copies of games in cds and I choose to get a game called Warcraft .I read at the back it features new races and thought its an expansion for Warcraft 3 like frozen throne..was excited to get it but my bro told me to pick another game..turns out that game I got was for the mmo one xD....really bummed out xD..wished until know they would release new races or made Warcraft 4(rts) with new races

I used to make custom wc3 maps way back then. But I can’t play it now that you’re forced to play the newer edition. I’d honestly love to go back into map making but I need a sugar daddy to buy me a copy of it. My specialties where unit/spell design, terrain and text coloring. I was absolutely garbage at triggers and coding though :/
You would think that Blizzard would have added some new races for Reforged into the main races, because we already had some additional races such as Naga in the original Warcraft 3.
I think this is a really nice touch and I'm surprised that something like this didn't exist in the original WC3 games. How much better is the new Map Editor compared to the old one?
It makes me wonder what will happen in Warcraft 4, if we ever get one.... It seems like Blizzard's Priority is Diablo.... Which is odd since Diablo 2 was left to rot for so long, years ago.
