You think that starfield was intended to be a simulator? It was made by Bethesda, they made fallout and elder scrolls. Starfield turned out exactly like their other games just with the space theme, it turned out exactly as imagined

You really land on planets so nothing a simple cinematic like starfield and hey, on elite dangerous ( with or without the odissey expansion with let you also doin exobiology ) you have 400 billions stars to explore . If you don't get it yet, this is what it is: Imagine a 2 story house where every drawer, cabinet, faucet, door, switch, closet, toilet, tv, stereo, etc is functional... then imagine that scaled up to the size of the USS Enterprise.

In many ways this is the Star Trek game I've been longing for. Just running a ship, exploring the galaxy. I'm also pretty excited about the roleplay aspect!

@@romulo2714 ss13 does not simulate politics or anything. it (wisely) focusses on the ships sim and rounds are short. the sim level of ss13 is amazing, if they can get close that would be a huge win.

It's clearly mainly pivoting from the engineering functionality for now. That's already enough to be fun with a couple friends, even with it dumbed down to a simple shoot enemies and complete objectives POV

Is there a way to have people join you on your ship like imagine you and a few friends doing VR vs some other people on a dif ship in a ship battle maybe as aliens. Also is there smaller ships you can fly around your large spaceship? Also can we have some Spotify tie in so you can play music off your Spotify?
I'm waiting for hydroponics and life supprt systems. Accelerating huge mass to star speeds requires huge energy, which cannot be collected as portable ionic or atomic store. Only option is a hyperspace jump.

This game, with the 'miles of pipes and wires' and Object Permeance, large active crew of NPCs and one the fly objective generation system for this crew really looks like an invitation for FPS killing excitement and new bug around every corner. It will be crazy to see it realized...
This has to be the single most ambitious project I've ever heard of. If the team can accomplish a quarter of what they intend to do, this will be one of the biggest sci-fi games to ever release. Really rooting for them.

Looks like an alternate version of Pulsar: The Lost Colony, a game that fits this criteria pretty well and has fairly heavy RPG elements (gaining levels, skill points, upgrading your ship's equipment, etc). It even has AI to fill in the spots where a real player would go.

You can do this in Star Citizen right now. And you aren't limited to one single cookie cutter ship design.
You should try sandbox game space engineers and then search for a server called Sigma Draconis, as it recreates the “Expanse” universe.

We've been here before, with similar promises in well-funded Kickstarters. Hopefully there's enough passion and community support to see this through.
They have a free early access on steam. Don't think they will charge for it until it's working.
NGL, they just gotta make the game enthusiastic and not dry, the visuals, besides the currently stiff animations, are jaw dropping.
