Every woman who makes this point has never watched a game of female sport in their lives it seems.
I just found one panel discussing that subject (Calls For Pay Equality In Sport) and it's basically true. 2 ideologically driven XX, who don't watch women's soccer, are outraged that the players are paid less than their male counterparts and one "mediator" XX, who tried to reiterate what the blokes were saying. NBA is like the #1 salesmen in a company and the WNBA is that 1 salesman that never reaches their sales quota yet somehow never gets fired but is complaining they should get paid as the #1 salesmen. In 2022 the WNBA made $60 million in revenue while the NBA made $10 billion. If you want more then earn more, simple as that.

As a woman i totally fucking see it, while i don't care for sport or the kardashians, my mother eats up real housewives almost everyday of the week. In regards to women sports, a lot of this stuff is being fed to kids in school, I remember having a lesson in primary school of all places (elementary school) where the topic of women's pay gaps was discussed amongst the class and women football players vs men football players wages was one of the primary example. Obviously all the 8 year olds came to the conclusion that it's not fair for women to do the same job as men but get paid less, myself included but as soon as you look at the problem with a more mature eye, the answer is so obvious. A lot of women who bitch about women's football pay either don't understand how little traction the sport actually has, or refuse to acknowledge it in order to protect their deluded beliefs of the patriarchy. For reference, I'm 19 years old and was stuck in the UK education system from ages 4-16, I have sat through countless of "PSA's" which i now look back on as inappropriate, ranging from teachers perpetuating and confirming the "patriarchy", discussing toxic masculinity, summing up complicated history to "white man bad" and "england bad" and even "america bad". I never fell for any of that garbage, many didn't bite, most didn't care, but the ones that do bite go onto become some of the most irritating people to be around, turning everything into a political matter.

I think it's to do with teachers pushing what makes their life better. And having a crowd of students believe and agree with your views must be a really good feeling. I teach ESL and I have a kid who is on medication, and now he has become an incredible student. But it's like he has been neutered like a dog lol. As a teacher it's amazing because he is now a great agreeable student. But as a boy, it might actually be bad for him. But then as a teacher I care far more how he is in my class, than for his general well being as a human. Which sounds really horrible, but it's true and I think most people would say the same if they were speaking honestly. So basically what I'm trying to say is, many teachers probably do these things because it conveniences them and makes them feel good, at the expense of the children. And for the teachers, it doesn't feel like they are doing anything wrong.

For hundreds of thousands of years. That’s why on an instinctive level women are happier being subordinate to a strong man that cares and protects her. The women’s team collectively bargained a deal that paid less money per win, but a higher guaranteed amount if they lost. After they won the World Cup, they realized that they CHOSE the deal that ended up paying them less. They played the victim card and got the money that they would have gotten if they had chose the same deal as the men (the one that they turned down before the season started). That's not true. Let's take latest fifa WC for example. Proportionally, women's soccer players get paid more with respect to their revenue. 2023 Fifa women revenue 570-590m$ Prize pool 110m$.. that's 18.6% of the revenue. 2022 Qatar Fifa men's World Cup: 7.5B$. Prize pool is around 440m$ (iirc) That is around 5.8% of revenue. SO JUST LOOKING AT THE PRIZE POOL. Women proportionally get paid 3 times more than the men.

I remember this, the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup was hosted in my country in 2018, Uruguay. I didn't even know that was a thing, until i heard and saw like 20 tourists talking in English about it, i was like "huh? Oh! wait." as i remember there was so obscure it took me by surprise.

NBA is like the #1 salesmen in a company and the WNBA is that 1 salesman that never reaches their sales quota yet somehow never gets fired but is complaining they should get paid as the #1 salesmen. In 2022 the WNBA made $60 million in revenue while the NBA made $10 billion. If you want more then earn more, simple as that.

As a woman i totally fucking see it, while i don't care for sport or the kardashians, my mother eats up real housewives almost everyday of the week. In regards to women sports, a lot of this stuff is being fed to kids in school, I remember having a lesson in primary school of all places (elementary school) where the topic of women's pay gaps was discussed amongst the class and women football players vs men football players wages was one of the primary example. Obviously all the 8 year olds came to the conclusion that it's not fair for women to do the same job as men but get paid less, myself included but as soon as you look at the problem with a more mature eye, the answer is so obvious. A lot of women who bitch about women's football pay either don't understand how little traction the sport actually has, or refuse to acknowledge it in order to protect their deluded beliefs of the patriarchy.
For reference, I'm 19 years old and was stuck in the UK education system from ages 4-16, I have sat through countless of "PSA's" which i now look back on as inappropriate, ranging from teachers perpetuating and confirming the "patriarchy", discussing toxic masculinity, summing up complicated history to "white man bad" and "england bad" and even "america bad". I never fell for any of that garbage, many didn't bite, most didn't care, but the ones that do bite go onto become some of the most irritating people to be around, turning everything into a political matter.

I think it's to do with teachers pushing what makes their life better. And having a crowd of students believe and agree with your views must be a really good feeling.
I teach ESL and I have a kid who is on medication, and now he has become an incredible student. But it's like he has been neutered like a dog lol. As a teacher it's amazing because he is now a great agreeable student. But as a boy, it might actually be bad for him. But then as a teacher I care far more how he is in my class, than for his general well being as a human. Which sounds really horrible, but it's true and I think most people would say the same if they were speaking honestly.
So basically what I'm trying to say is, many teachers probably do these things because it conveniences them and makes them feel good, at the expense of the children. And for the teachers, it doesn't feel like they are doing anything wrong.

After they won the World Cup, they realized that they CHOSE the deal that ended up paying them less. They played the victim card and got the money that they would have gotten if they had chose the same deal as the men (the one that they turned down before the season started). The issue with a lot of women’s sports is that the rules barely change from men’s, even if the equipment does. The ones that do actually modify the rules based on the gender see success for women.

I'm pretty sure the soccer women were talking about being paid equaly for representing your country like the people in the olympic games are paid. People representing their country in the olympic games don't get paid for the amount of tickets that are sold, they get paid by their country for representing it (depending on what place they end up)
You just said it yourself. That’s how the Olympics, a multinational event, works. Not how _national_ sports work nor how they should work. National sports are strictly funded from inside and need proper revenue to justify the wages. They don’t have the benefit of competing on a global stage, and even if they did who is to say anyone would actually care? The fact is, most people (especially including women) just don’t care about women’s sports, and that makes some people absolutely furious.

In general I agree with his point, but the soccer team situation is quite a bit different considering they actually did sell the tickets unlike the men's team.

And that's not bad, he lost his bitterness and grew. And the guy has mixed race kids - of course he has a different look onto race and gender roles and stuff now. But he obviously isn't taking BS from his wife and his wife is not taking his BS. It's not about "catering to", it's about gaining new insights and perspectives and challenging each other. I bet, her college friends think that she has changed a lot and is catering to him. The guy is stubborn and combative, yet they are married for over 10 years now, they obviously found a balance, that's good, not bad.

In college I learned this lesson. Somehow (twice) moved into an apartment with ONLY women roommates... Each one of them would come and expose nothing but hatred towards the others due to petty reasons to me. Bill hit the nail right on it's head with this one.
