@@callmedo We're playing Pub Sunday League style.....and It's happening again ..... getting battered at home ....decades older at the very least. We are the joke of the Premier League......giving out pressies....all season long
I feel the last transfer window strategy was that the kids would rotate in on the cup games along with the likes of Davies/Dragusin and Werner with foster in goal and the rest would be used primarily in the Premier League and rotated into cups as needed. No thought was given to injuries and how they could decimate both a&b squads meaning you stitched together an 11 and were forced to use a number of them for both😢
It’s time for a reality check. Tottenham is dealing with an incredible number of setbacks: up to eight starting players are sidelined, the squad is brimming with young, inexperienced talent, and the team is undergoing a necessary rebuild. Despite these challenges, Ange Postecoglou has already started to improve the team’s in-game style and overall results. That’s something worth recognizing and supporting. Rebuilding a competitive team doesn’t happen overnight-it requires patience, smart investment, and unwavering backing from fans. Quick fixes and knee-jerk decisions, like sacking a manager at the first sign of adversity, won’t create lasting success. Ange deserves the time and trust to build something special. Looking at Tottenham’s transfer spending compared to other clubs like Chelsea-who invested over £1 billion in their squad under Todd Boehly’s Clearlake Capital-shows a clear disparity. Tottenham spent £148.4m in 2022-23 and £224.5m in 2023-24, far less than some of their rivals. If the club wants to compete at the highest level, it needs to step up its financial commitment. A New Year budget of around £150 million could go a long way toward securing a top-class No. 6, a key defender, and a winger-players who can make an immediate impact. If offloading underperforming players is part of that process, so be it. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Yes, there’s room for improvement, and yes, the challenges are significant. But Tottenham fans need to stand by Ange and the team through this period of growth. The foundations of a winning dynasty are built on stability, long-term vision, and trust. Let’s give Ange the support he needs to lead us there.
It used to be that opposing teams would look at the Spurs teamsheet and if Harry Kane's name was on there, they'd be like "Damn!" These days I bet that opposing teams, Chelsea in particular, look at the Spurs teamsheet and if Bissouma's name is on there, they're like "Yes!"
I’m so sick of hearing from the media that Levy and the board have backed the managers just by stating the amount of money they’ve spent!.. Because if you look at all the players they spend it on they’re almost always the wrong players. Yes there are a couple of half decent players but we literally never buy established stars that are going to make a big difference to the first team!… Remero is 💯 right!!!… It’s not necessarily the amount of money the club are willing to spend, it’s more about the players they’re willing to spend it on!!!.. SO FRUSTRATING!..😖😖😖😖😖😫🤯
16 managers in 20 years. Last three have won everywhere they’ve been except Tottenham. Obviously Ange isn’t on the same level as Conte and Jose, one sacked before a cup final. Nothing of any significance won. Ticket prices keep going up. Kit prices keep going up. Food prices keep going up. If it’s a business ok, then the board should come out and say so. Then the fans know what direction we’re heading in. If this club wants to prove that they are willing to win then they need to start signing prem proven players that can walk into the first team and help in the now.
Although i think romero was talking with a bit of heart, I dont think he minds offending levy, whats the worst can happen he get sold. Win win for him!
Another one totally ignoring his point!.. Blindly backing the board at this club when it’s totally and so obviously their fault this club is going nowhere as a football club!.. 🤯
There are too many matches - that's the problem. They're knackered and picking up injuries as a result. The squad has moved forwards this season. We removed a bunch of players we no longer wanted, and replaced them with fresh young talent. What we didn't manage to do, was increase the depth of the squad. We just made replacements. But there is only so many transfers you can manage in a given time frame, and there are only so many people available to buy - not everyone you want will want to come to you. This rebuild requires patience. The next few windows will allow additions to squad depth, but only if we can find the right people. Swapping out a 5/10 player and bringing in a 5/10 player because that's all that's available to us, isn't worth the hassle.
It's simple with injuries Ange has no players to RECYCLE the team that's why in most cases he is on the same core team playing every game that's FATIGUE in mind and body at Celtic in his first year he had injuries but in his second year he was provided a bigger squad so he was able to rotate and injuries reduce significantly, on Spurs Ange on his second year has got KIDS to rotate and we can see it can't be done
I don't think we have had 'bad' injuries this year ... not that you couldn't predict anyway. Most the key players been available the whole time and we are 10th and a total shambles . The coaching and recruitment is the problem , lack of spending and poor appointments
Genuinely thought Son's interview was poor - didn't express himself or give any insight .. just said 'the players are really working hard, they really care' . No tactical insight, no explanation for the awful form , results and performances etc. just embarrassing really. Son's been a great club man and a good player - his best sadly is longgg gone now and we need to move on from him asap. Shouldn't extend the contract imho
Are these defensive lapses a tactics thing or just a symptom of not having top level players? Always feel that mentality is the difference at top level and we don’t shop in the elite bracket - bissouma is a great example has all the attributes but just lacks something mentally to be at the top level consistently
Why wouldn’t he play Bissouma? He’s not playing on Sunday. Midfield 3 of Rodrigo, biss and bergval. Then Werner, lankshear and Maddison front 3 (make it work for Rangers). Gives everyone in mid and up top a rest for Southampton. Not a lot of options in defence so probably need to put Gray centre half with radu and Porro/destiny as full backs unfortunately
A lot of waffling on Ange’s style of play that has proven to be detrimental to the players health. Yes you can blame Cuti’s injury on Ange, same with dvv. His style is too chaotic and it’s killing the players
Ummm, no. Romero’s injury was not related to his first. Van de wen’s is a recurrence. He had hamstring injuries prior to joining Spurs. These injuries occur in a game where you kick the ball and chase. Obviously you prefer boring, dour football. Keep Parroting the same old narrative doesn’t mean it’s true.
@ when you injure one part of your body it loosens other joints and muscles. I’ve seen injuries like that before in athletes. It’s fairly common. He didn’t need to rush him back
Levy undertook to give the fans, as Romero puts it -"a beautiful club" and fnancial stability. He's delivered. He never promised beautiful football or trophies. The club would need new owners for those. But Levy & Co aren't going anywhere soon - unless a ridicuous bid comes in for the club. Dream on.
When I still worked in the corporate world, if I had publicly criticised the board or CEO they would not be ignoring it, football is different though and I am fascinated about what happens next(I imagine behind closed doors?)🤭
All that needs being said is the hard evidence of One Trophy in 24 Years of Competitive football. Daniel Levy is THE definition of Football Brain dead .

We all need to admit - the Archie Gray idea wasn't smart. We can't afford to spend 40m speculating on a young player , atm he doesn't look ready to play at this level at all , in any position .... even worse - Solanke has been a disaster, you can't spend 65m on a 27 year old striker who doesn't get 25+ goals .. madness .. we need to make changes across recruitment and coaching and squad = Levy should stand down as chairman and appoint a whole new football staff including a new manager appointment and DOF etc

That's nearly the opposite of what it should be. Spurs should be playing to win the cups.

Every time l think we are turning the corner it turns out to be a U turn.

Romero is not the first to have a quad injury either...the medical staff need checking out plus the training regime!
