    Funny thing is, Java is practically unkillable. Most if not all bad features can be modded out, authentication servers can be circumvented and replaced, and there's a lot more community history and attachment than Bedrock.

      @@numizumi5131 It be hard for them to make a case against the servers due to how they function in that it is held on the owner’s computer / server and not Microsoft meaning they are not on Microsoft area. Also though our accounts merged into the Microsoft account the previous contract players had is still valid meaning there is certain limits Microsoft can do. It is similar to a contract change when buying a house even if banks get merged your contract and loan remains untouched just under another company name. If they due push to do this and false ban somebody this would heavily breach several contracts with the player and server owners which could lead to a large lawsuit.

    One motivation they have for keeping pocket edition as the main version is the fact that they can monetize it so why wouldn't they want to kill a version that is a one time purchase and make the overly monetized version that preys on children's money the main version instead

    @taruros ปีที่แล้ว +234

    There is one major thing you forgot about:
    They merged "Minecraft" and Minecraft Java into one purchase. And to play the Bedrock version, you must get the launcher from Microsoft Store. They also made the old launcher say that there is a better version of the launcher - which is bullcrap since there is virtually no difference between the two launchers besides the Minecraft Bedrock - making people download the Microsoft Store version, which, at least for me, hadn't worked properly when I first started using it (I switched to the OG one after two days or so)
    I've been playing Minecraft for eight years, and the recent 4-5 years have been a colossal disappointment. My will to play this game is starting to fade away.

      If the last 4-5 years have been a colossal disappointment, then I don't know anything that could satisfy your ungodly high expectations. Despite some annoying changes, the overall content updates Minecraft have received are nothing short of spectacular. Minecraft, content wise, is the best it has ever been. This video zooms in on all the miniscule, age-old negatives while ignoring all the relatively recent positive changes that Mojang, under Microsoft have accomplished.
      If your will to play Minecraft is fading away, then that is the fault of your receding nostalgia, not the game itself.

    I loved minecraft because it could be controlled by the player, you could make farms for every resource in the game and make huge structures to be proud of. But to me it seems like microsoft is making minecraft into less of a fun sandbox game and more of an adventure type game where the objective is to explore all the different crazy biomes and mobs and live alongside them. I liked it better when the player objective was to control the environment around them and make up their own worlds lore letting the imagination overflow. Building huge structures that overlook a simple sandbox world that you have redesigned to fit your preferences, That's what I loved about minecraft.

    • @Kaddicus
      @Kaddicus ปีที่แล้ว +12

      and they haven't even done it well either. There are tons of mods available, any one of which do a better job of making Minecraft an adventure game than Mojang has.

    • @deceptionception
      @deceptionception ปีที่แล้ว +31

      I think i would disagree with that, think of it this way, they’re adding more toys players can mess around with, therefore increasing the sandbox potential. Adding more biomes and mobs shouldn’t in any way or form disrupt your type of gameplay, you can stay on a single biome and not explore any others as much as you want. New content was really needed, there’s a reason why adding mods is so popular after all besides, if it really really bothers you that much, you can simply jump to the older versions lol.
      Edit:
      Oh and also, minecraft to this day has no clear objective or goal lmao, I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about now.
      Last time i played vanilla minecraft was about a year ago with a friend, the only thing we did was build our own little village, we visited other biomes only to acquire more blocks and killed the ender dragon so that we can get elytras.

    • @ZentaBon
      @ZentaBon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And I kinda hate that everything is instant and easy to do. You building types want everything instantly when that's what creative mode is for

    • @pyrosophy680
      @pyrosophy680 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      How can you not do that anymore ? You can create your own world and control it. And if you feel you've been gated to some resources, you have creative.
      For me it's the opposite. Like, when you have some elytras and a few other blocks, you have NO in-game reason to go back to the end except for farm optimization and duping if you're into that. For an "end-game" location it feels so empty and useless.
      So I can see the argument that "oh, there's no point anymore story-wise or adventure-wise to keep playing", but if you want to have a sandbox game with no real objective, even the survival version is pretty good at that.

    • @kaboomkp
      @kaboomkp ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree wholeheartedly. It really hasn’t felt the same and I don’t think that’s nostalgia because even just a few years back it wasn’t so much.
      That being said nether, caves, and cliffs needed updating I don’t think they did any of the changes in a bad way, just really doesn’t fit how I grew up playing. I’ve owned the game since Alpha and I still play a lot but it’s so much different that it barely resembles some old versions I remember.

      Most large servers send your messages when you type. For example, on hypixel when you send a message it gets edited by the server (to add prefixes, remove words from their profanity filter and replace them with ****) so people simply cannot chat report your messages as the game thinks they are all sent by the server. They can still go through hypixel’s report feature, but that has been a thing since forever.
      You can always check this by hovering your mouse over the little line on the left before each message. It will tell you if the server sent it or not. Server messages cannot be reported

    If it's due to Java being a mainly single core engine, I can understand why is seems like it's on its way out, but before that can happen, there needs to be more parity between both for the transition to be seamless. No falling through the world, no random deaths, Java's 0 and 1 tick pulses, movable tile entities, more optimization than to only match previous versions, LoD render distances beyond what's currently loaded, and the ability to play previous updates of each version, probably dependant on platform, are what come to mind for me.

    @Shulkercraft bro, i think that the updates after 1.9 aren't bad, like, in the past, minecraft worlds and servers used to have a short life, like, the game didn't have a lot of content to make the players have 5 years old worlds, but today, the game has a lot of updates that the comunity wanted before, like the cave update and a wold generation update, and the combat update isn't that bad, in 2009-2015, the combat used to be "just click as fast you can", now the combat with mobs is totally diferent, well... the combat with players is kinda broken, like end crystals and others things, but the mid-game combat, like iron armor and iron sword, is a very good, it have more content.
    Conclusion: i think that the updates aren't bad, now the game has cool features, a lot of content and cool things to do, obviously things like the mob update and the account migration are bad, also the game price, because i'm brazilian, the real(R$) is less valued, like, 1 dollar is 5,19 R$, it makes the original game very expansive. So, the updates are good, but other things are bad.

    1. Pewdiepie being the sole reviver of minecraft is just wrong. Yes he was a part of it, but not the only one. 1.13 was one of the biggest updates ever. Overhauling the oceans and swimming, fixing big bugs (and giving new ones). Grian also joined hermitcraft s6, which ended up making the s6 the longest running season to this date.
    2. Was the migration a bad thing? i doubt, it really didnt affect my gameplay at all
    3. There were people asking for some sort of reporting tool. Could Mojang have implemented it better? Yes, there were problems with it. Is minecraft dead after Mojang introduced it? No, Minecraft is still very popular game. And if you play on a whitelisted server, you shouldnt need to worry about getting banned, because most likely you are all friends. And if you end up getting reported, reporter has to add some messages to proof that you should be banned.

    I really disagree. Most people already have microsoft accounts so the migration isn't that big of a deal, and everything on the marketplace is optional. MCPE and Windows 10 edition still allow you to upload skins. Mods still exitst on bedrock edition too! Most of the complaints people have about microsoft are really dumb. Plus, Microsoft has been cleaning up the unfinished parts of minecrafts. Oceans are dark and bland? Update aquatic! Villages are ugly-looking, helpless, and not very useful? Village and pillage! Nether isn't that rewarding for how dangerous it is? Introduce many awesome biomes, a place to hunt for endermen, the best material in the game, and piglins! Mining is boring, get's repetitive, and materials became scarce near spawn once you mine too much there? Add many cave biomes and give worlds extra underground layers! People miss the beta days when lighting was crap and minecraft looked like a horror game in dark areas, there wheren't any beds to skip the night, and they where helpless from huge swarms of mobs so they had to hide from them? Add the deep dark, a city made out of dark materials like deepslate to replicate the dim feel of beta minecraft, and a terifying mob that guards the loot and attacks you for doing as little as making a sound! Disagree with the minecraft marketplace as much as you like, but it's all optional. And 4J studios left a bunch of minecraft content in Mojang's hands that they couldn't let get lost to history, and it's a buisness they gotta make money off of it somehow.

    Microsoft wants to drop java edition. I know for certain they won’t port bedrock to GNU+linux meaning they would drop support for it. This isn’t too concerning for me as I only play older versions of Minecraft but GNU+Linux users who like to keep up to date on minecraft may have issues

      Microsoft's eternal attempt to destroy GNU Linux is reason enough for a software export embargo against USA, it is a far cry from fair play, fair trade and understanding that the need for technology surpasses the need for their profit.
      Microsoft and Apple should honestly just be expropriated and all assets forced open source to stop this destruction. Minecraft is likely going to be the legacy of video games as an art form, like the primary example of a video game, from the gaze of future minds. If they ruin this, they will literally be killing an important aspect of 21st century cultural/art history, however insane or silly that sounds.
      The Sillicon Valley trust fund babies already killed, reanimated, disfigured and desecrated the other contender, Dwarf Fortress.. Maybe world cultural heritage should apply to more than just buildings and paintings huh?

    anyone else believe in java edition superiority compared to bedrock edition, especially considering how it's less influenced by microsoft and just has more options for the player over a group

    Yes bedrock has gotten a LOT more love from mojang now. But as a bedrock player i still think Java is superior de biggest advantages from bedrock are bridging better cauldrons and for some people the combat system meanwhile Java a lot other exclusive features has
