  • In this video, I go over one of, if not, THE sportiest compact sedan in the segment! The 2017/2018 Mazda 3!
    For 2018 the only change is the addition of black wheels and slightly different trim packages.

    LOVE Mazda's infotainment system, it's really cool and simple. Interior design is definitely the best in its class, and exterior is the sexiest (my opinion), and everyone knows Mazda drives the best in its class. So, why not a Mazda? Actually, I'm happy there aren't as many Mazdas on the road as you'd have other brands. It makes it seem a lot more exclusive.

    I have a 2008 mazda3 2.5 sedan. I have owned two previous generation Mazda 6 3.0 and this is the best Mazda I have owned yet. That Scott active 2.5 is a great engine plenty of power and torque for such a light car. The suspension is tuned perfectly when paired with those 18in wheels and tires.

      Pretty much most of the car setup ist self-explaining and can be done via the MZD screen and the very intuitive command knob. Some of the assistance systems needed some adjustment in my ride but overall, I freaking love the car. The black paint is pretty sensitive, though.

      I'm a Mazda fan. When I go to pick out another vehicle here in a few months I won't test drive anything but Mazda. It's just my preference. It doesn't make me any more right or wrong than the next guy beside me who is into Toyota or Honda.

    Just bought a car like this yet just one model below this one. I owned an early model mazda 3. This newer version is like 100 years newer. Once you drive it you will know what im talking about. I much rather own this car than any other car doubled the price. The car reminds me of a baby mazda 6 yet for me the 6 is just too large for me to drive. I feel much more comfortable in the 3. Btw this has got to be the best mazda 3 car review ever. Thanks for posting it. my mazda 3 is a metalic gray color which in my opinion is the best color of all mazdas on the market. Once you drive one of these cars you will become convienced you are driving the best car money can buy.

      The 2.5 in the 3 and 6 are the same and the 3 is lighter. So bully to a 6 being "way better" unless you need to drive a family around.

    • @buchajo
      @buchajo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They each have their own things. The 6 is going to have a slightly better ride and perhaps a bit more refinement. Certainly more goodies inside than the 3, unless you buy the highest trim level available for the 3, which isn't going to be cheap.
      I currently have a 3 and a 6 and I'm well aware of the differences. The 3 is faster off the line but I'd rather take my 6 on a long road trip.

    i bought this car.. same color.. but with premium package.
    only downsides.. the passenger airbag won't turn off with a 60 pound kid in seat so they can't sit there. sucks when i have a full car load.
    kids upset no rear heated seats..oh well..
    it does read my iphone text messages - had to go to settings-bluetooth-Mazda(click the i) and enable 'show notifications' (i have iphone 6s)

    • @pshores
      @pshores 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sw4b F4x3D that's because your kid is too small for the front passenger seat, and the airbag would severely injure them so it does not arm itself. It is a safety feature, there is a minimum weight required. I would not let my kid sit in the front passenger seat..

    I like that they took away the paint black material away from the door handles... I do not like that instead they put it down where the window switches are. It had a faux carbon fibre look before. The piano black is horrible to maintain and scratches so easily. Same stuff around the shifter. I don't get it.
    Also I don't know why they would keep that active display instead of going for a real HUD like in the new CX-7. Fewer moving parts (mine was defective) and depending on the seating position it can end up in awkward places.

    I heard the brakes were a little weak and spongy. Can you comment on the brake feel/performance? Thanks.

    I was really thinking about getting these, i have 07 right now. But i was really disappointed when i drove one. I work for a rental car company and we just go these, i took one out for 20 mins and honestly didn't like it. The interior looks nice when you look at in videos but it just doesn't feel as good in person, the drive wasn't good either. I guess ill be getting a charger

    Those stock Dunlop SP 5000 tires are terrible. I can for sure say that these particular tires suck in snow. I replaced them after buying the car they we so bad. If you have this car and have to drive in snow please change your tire immediately or try to change them for credit at the dealer when you buy it, they are literally garbage.

    About 2 weeks ago I drove one of these cars just like this one all the way from Columbus OH. to the Los Angeles airport and it had a horrible ride. It rode really rough, it took the bumps pretty bad, and the steering was so heavy you had to fight the car to get it to turn corners. Are all of them like that? Or was it just that particular car? And maybe another reason why you shouldn’t buy retired rental car.

    been a 2015 mazda 3 GT owner, I have driven the 2017 version and can confirm the new model has been a disgrace.
    Pretty much no improvement have been done. Yes, there were changes, plenty of changes in fact. BUT ALL FOR CUTTING COST.
    Seen how they cut corners with the new 2017 model really disgust me... I am not sure if I want to buy another Mazda soon...

      It really does come to your priorities, as has been stated here already.
      It's not that Toyota is a bad brand by any means. Of course it's not. But, a Corolla isn't going to give you the same driving experience/feedback as a Mazda3 will.
      I mean what do you like best.... chocolate or vanilla ice-cream? For everybody, the answer is going to be different, for their own respective reasons.
      I'd test drive both of them and see what you think. Some of the differences between them should be fairly obvious after spending a bit of time with both of them.

      sure the Mazda is fun to drive, but in 10 years you'll still be driving everyday with no issues in the Corolla. so if you have the money to maintain the Mazda by all means go for it. cousin has a 2013 Mazda and it's been in the shop multiple times, no he doesn't race or drive recklessly. and I got a preowned 2010 Mazda 3, got the check engine line flashing a week later.

    The always-up display is a huge turn off for me. I think it would be extremely annoying to not be able to make it go back down and to have it in my line of vision at all times.
