    Dear Ellen, I got interested in making natural products at home and started watching YT tutorials. Most creators never give out their recipes and I understand their reasoning. You're the only one I came across who gives their recipes for free. Thank you so much for that! I love watching your videos, you're a beautiful lady in-and-out. All the best to your business, God bless! Subscribed.

      Ellen Ruth is one of two of my go-to YT tutorials for EVERYTHING I want to make. And Ellen is definitely the first place I look. The second is Ellys Everyday (I actually found her first, but I love Ellen Ruth's videos more. Shhh...don't tell). Both are wonderful and freely share much needed information and recipes.

    If ya sprinkle or dust a little mica glitter or cornstarch in the top of your moon press, they won’t stick like that and you either have a little shimmer or dust off the cornstarch when dry… works great!

    OMG OMG OMG OMG I am so excited!!!!!! I just burst out laughing when you said it's not for the lady parts. That just reminded me of the time my cousin and I were in the woods and she had to pee and she grabbed the menthol tissues, not the regular one. I think she yelled so loud that she scared me and the rest of the animals. I can't wait to get some!

    I saw this video and when you first made it I have been following you for years. But you know that once in a blue moon some of your videos pop up again 😊. I tried your recipe and it works wonderful. I put Plastic film Wrap so it won't stick inside and I have the design that I desire. What I also do is put the bowl on top of the scale and then I tear it.

    If you want to get a really nice impression with the moon cake press then you need to put just enough product in to cover the bottom (what will be the top of the steamer) and press it down well with your fingers to get it in the design really well. Then finish filling like normal and then flip it over and press it well on the sheet pan.

    First, I love watching you! I also live in Tennessee so it helps that your ingredients match my humidity level. I don’t make soap, but I make everything else you make. My specialty is shower steamers but I also do bath salts, beard balm, lip balm, lotion bars, scrub bars etc.
    I’m trying to perfect a foaming coffee scrub bar, I wish you had a video on that. (If you do I haven’t found one). I make coffee scrub that my clients LOVE… but it’s messy. I’d love to do a foaming / soapy bar… but I use melt & pour goat milk soap. I’m still trying to figure out the right amounts.
    Anyway, thank you for all you do! Even though I don’t make soap at this moment. It’s fun watching you… and your other products are fantastic! You inspire me!

    Thank you for doing this this is an awesome share! Personally I don't give brambleberry any of my business anymore because I gave them a $300 order the first time I ever ordered from them and everything was thrown in the box Pell no and almost killed my cat because it coated the pellets that they had for packing pellets and I had to take him to the emergency vet. They're shipping is slow. I go to my local bulk food Warehouse and they always have my crystals for me they see me and they know exactly what direction I'm headed to they always have at least two bottles for me! ❤️

      It's the combo of baking soda and citric acid that make the fizz.

    Hello . I would love to make these... I noticed you weighed the Moon Press before adding the product. I need to understand why, and how to properly do so? May you please explain that process? I enjoyed this video. AMAZING.!!! Thanks in advance

    • @EllenRuthSoap

      I weighed the press to tare the scale, so I would know exactly how much bath bomb mix to use so they all weigh the same.

    Hi! I recently stumbled upon your video and loved your tutorial!
    I have a question, what woukd i use if I wanted to color the pucks a light green? So I can distinguish it as menthol. Something that wouldn't stain the shower & base. Thank you again!

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would use a skin safe mica powder to color these.

    Hi Ellen, I’d not heard of these but maybe not great if you have asthma either, Vicks menthol rub could trigger asthma.
    On another issue, I just made the kitchen soap bars fantastic, thank you,

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re like bath bombs, so yes, lower humidity is better

    great video! would the steamers degrade if i just placed them unwrapped in a jar with a screw lid? i don't have a heat sealer - i was just going to place the steamers in a jar to give as a gift.

      I think they'll be okay, as long they aren't in a super humid area..

    Thanks and this is super helpful! Is menthol crystal required for all Essential Oil mixtures or only for this recipe? My shower steamer smells fade off easily. Is there any way to retain it?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I really like the addition of menthol, but you don’t need to add it.. Scented retention is a big topic, since these aren’t used for skin contact it’s okay to go heavy on the essential oils.

    Hello Ellen, where did you buy your poly bags and sealer? And one other question would 20 drops of each (peppermint and eucalyptus) be ok for this batch or how many drops of each did you use?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got my sealer from Amazon, link below. Both WSP and Bramble Berry have great essential oil calculators.

      I would suggest just leaving them out and seeing if you need to add a touch more liquid to get the right texture for pressing...

    Thank you so much for sharing your video...i hope you don't mind me asking a question....I made these today but they have reacted a little tonight as I left them to dry... Just wondering was it because I made them too wet? Maybe that's a fact question but just thought I'd ask🤭

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if they’re reacting it’s probably because they’re a bit too wet.. next time try a tad less oils or bump up the kaolin (or arrowroot…) just a bit.
