Thank you for sharing your receipe and process. I was wondering where did you get those cute packaging boxes. It’s okay if you don’t want to share? They look cute. Thank you.
I have used smallish silicon molds and pressed into the mold by hand with ok results. The bath bomb press gives a much smoother and neater appearance though. So go with what you can afford 🤷🏻
Not sure as this video is 3 months old at the time I viewed it, but many makers recommend not adding the citric acid into your mix until all the wet ingredients are in and incorporated. It helps to prevent any premature activation. (You may have had this shared before this 😂). All the very best to you!
thanks so much for running through the process. I love all your videos -they are so real. Thanks for that. I also have a hard time doing the bombs by hand (arthritis!) would you mind sharing your press vendor? and maybe the etsy shop too - not sure I can afford the press right now!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm just doing a few for myself and as gifts for some family/friends, but it's been really helpful to be able to watch you and hear all your comments as you go along. It's always nice to learn from a pro. Thank you again!
Thank you for this video and recipe! I've been trying to make them, but they crumble so easily, and I find that the lavender eo changes scent to an unpleasant scent. I'm excited to try your recipe! Congratulations on your best seller 😃
This was super helpful! Thank you for sharing… how long of a shelf life do they have? Do they ever dry out in the packaging? Like do you need to put some sort of plastic covering individually?
I wrap them all together in a bio cello bag from Maskesy. The tubes also come with a silica gel bag that I keep in there to avoid too much moisture getting to them. It seems they have a pretty long shelf life with those conditions!
Thank you so much for this!! I made my first shower steamers the other day, but I did them with menthol crystals. They are SO strong…like almost too strong, it kinda made my stomach hurt while I made them 😂 Do you just throw these on the shower floor? Do they typically last just one shower? Thanks so much again for sharing!!
Yep! They just go on the shower floor and if you put them directly under the spray, they’re stronger but dissolve in one shower. If you put them off the side or event on a bath ledge or something they might last more than one shower but won’t be as strong per shower. Hope that helps!
What do you do with them after they are on the baking sheet? Just let them air dry for... however long? or bake them at whatever temp for whatever time?
I’ve tried your recipe many times and I just can’t get it right. The tops of the steamer ( what goes in the mold first) dries hard but the bottom are crumbly. Any idea ?
It’s my first time making shower steamers and these are great! Thank you 😊 I am wondering, is there something I can add to make the steamer break down slower? It disintegrated almost immediately (maybe that’s normal, I don’t know). Would increasing corn starch help?
I would say your best bet is just to move it out of the direct steam of water and allow more of the off-spray to activate it - that should slow it down!
Thank you for posting and I love the packaging. I’m hoping to sell to wholesale markets in my area. Do you label the tubes yourself or do you have them custom printed?
This is so awesome. Pls help. Quick question: my shower steamers started having white spots and bubbles on top and do not look polished, but ruff, I also added clay. DO I just put too much witch hazel and that's why they are like this?
Love this recipe! Will mixing longer help the smoothness if I’m just pressing into a mold? Got a few bumps! If the scent didn’t last long would you recommend more oil or more mixing?
Yes, I’ve found that mixing helps the bumps! And I’m guessing if the scents not lasting long after you mix longer, it’s probably that you need more oil 😊
When I use my steamer it's messy but I don't really smell the steamer unless it's got like a vapor additives in it ,,can you show in the shower how it's suppose to work,,no one has done that on youtube thank yiu Charlotte
I’m wanting to make a batch of eucalyptus scented. It’s soooo strong. One ounce seems like an overkill. Plus, these oils aren’t super cheap. Would you still use 1oz of eucalyptus oil? Or would you dilute it in a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil? Did you dilute the lavender? That’ll take my entire bottle of lavender just for one batch😓
I use a “cap full” so I would guess 1 tablespoon? Alcohol is an option but I’ve tried it before and didn’t like it as much because it doesn’t partially activate the mixture. Instead I’d try a tablespoon of water first!
You can definitely use fragrance oil! How much to use sort of depends on the recipe and potency you’re going for and also the recommended usage so check those numbers for whichever fragrance oil essential oils you use.
Hello, I hope you see this and give me some advice please. I followed your recipe, I replaced the corn starch with arrowroot as I had that at home and I only added few grams of clay to give some colour. They expand in the mould and I have the sense that they fiz. They feel cold when I touch them. Do you think I put a lot of witch hazel?
Do you also make bath bombs? I am thinking of selling some. What is your opinion as to which ones sell more, shower steamers or bath bombs? If anyone has any tried and tested experience, please share. Thank you so much.
The citric acid/baking soda combo is the part that makes it fizz, otherwise it will just dissolve. You can try putting epsom salt in there and test to see how the experience is, but I think it would be risky calling it a shower steamer because people are probably going to expect the fizz. You’d maybe have to come up with a different product name and do some educating on how it’s different.
Sorry, where is this full recipe? I have been making or trying to make your shower Steamers off and on for months now but I think I'm missing something from the recipe? Thanks so much!
The witch hazel partially activates the solution and adds just enough moisture to help hold the tablets together when you press them. Otherwise they’d be too dry and fall apart 😊
I just find them to be a bit too strong. I like that my friends with kids don’t have to worry if one of the kids wants to throw them in the bath. Nothing against menthol, it’s just not worth the hassle for me.
I know prices vary from city to city, state to state but what is the average price of this container-retail? Please don't say do the COG's. Just what does an average person want to pay for this?
Definitely don’t use oil because it can make the shower floor slippery and dangerous! You could try alcohol, or even just a splash of water might be the best thing.
I think you packaging is really elegant. Good job. 😊
Thank you for sharing your receipe and process. I was wondering where did you get those cute packaging boxes. It’s okay if you don’t want to share? They look cute. Thank you.
Do you mean the tubes? They’re Paper Tube Co :)
@@hellobushyl Yes. I was asking the tubes. Thank you.
What size are the tubes
Thank you for sharing your process
The only recipe I can find without oil and polysorbate 80! Thank you! Love your channel!
I’m glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching 😊
Love your comment on packaging! Such good products get ignored due to poor packaging. Sadly...awesome video, thanks for sharing.

P.S. I don't want to use any menthol smell either, so I'm very happy to see how you make them with just essential oils.
What press do you use? loved your video
Thank you for this video and recipe! I've been trying to make them, but they crumble so easily, and I find that the lavender eo changes scent to an unpleasant scent. I'm excited to try your recipe! Congratulations on your best seller 😃
Thanks so much! Hope this works for you!
Do you spray the steamers with isopropyl alcohol to seal them? I love that machine! Makes such quick work and saves your hands!
Thank you! Class act! Nicely done.
Hello thank you for the video, I would love to make these for Christmas,.
Hey. Great video and explanations
When using cardboard tubes do you need to shrink wrap each tablet?
This was super helpful! Thank you for sharing… how long of a shelf life do they have? Do they ever dry out in the packaging? Like do you need to put some sort of plastic covering individually?
I wrap them all together in a bio cello bag from Maskesy. The tubes also come with a silica gel bag that I keep in there to avoid too much moisture getting to them. It seems they have a pretty long shelf life with those conditions!
Approximately how long is the shelf life and how long before the scent goes away?@@hellobushyl

Can you please tell me what size paper tube you use for packaging your shower steamers?
I love the recipe and just made a batch for the first time. How long do they need to set up before packaging and using?
I usually let them dry out overnight!
I’ve tried your recipe many times and I just can’t get it right. The tops of the steamer ( what goes in the mold first) dries hard but the bottom are crumbly. Any idea ?

I label them myself with Online Labels!
This is so awesome. Pls help. Quick question: my shower steamers started having white spots and bubbles on top and do not look polished, but ruff, I also added clay. DO I just put too much witch hazel and that's why they are like this?
Why do you use clay? I assume that is what's causing the spots and bubbles as it perhaps retains moisture?
Love this recipe! Will mixing longer help the smoothness if I’m just pressing into a mold? Got a few bumps! If the scent didn’t last long would you recommend more oil or more mixing?
Yes, I’ve found that mixing helps the bumps! And I’m guessing if the scents not lasting long after you mix longer, it’s probably that you need more oil 😊
Where can I get good packing from? Love to give this at my church for birthdays
Who do you use as your packaging supplier if not to much to ask

Is the Witch hazel the only liquid?
In one of your videos you mentioned you use a compostable bag inside the tube, where did you find the bags? thank you
Makesy used to sell them but they discontinued them so now I get them from clearbags.com
Loved the recipe. Do they need some time curing or are they ready to use? Thanks 😊
Great question! I let them dry out overnight before packaging them.
I know put yours in a container. Do you wrap them or shrink wrap them. How do you store them so they don’t activate? 🙏🏽🙏🏽
How much witch hazel do you
add?
I'm looking for a press machine for shower steamers but can't make up my mind which one I want. Could you tell me what you like about yours?
Hi @hellobushyl can you please tell me how mant tbls of witch hazel please? Can i use alcohol? Many thanks ❤

Do you had menthol crystals?
Is this measured in volume or weight? Thanks!!
Great question! It’s weight 😊
witch hazel not available in my country can i use alcohol or coconut oil?

Hi! It’s in the description 😊
Can you be more specific about how much essential oil and carrier oil please ?
There’s no carrier oil, those measurements are just essential oils.
@ thank you !
You’re welcome!
What function does the witch hazel have?
The witch hazel partially activates the solution and adds just enough moisture to help hold the tablets together when you press them. Otherwise they’d be too dry and fall apart 😊

Hi you do not put menthol crystal in your shower steamer?
I don’t! I consider mine more of a spa experience and less of a medicinal vibe so i just stick to essential oils.
witch hazel not available in my country can i use alcohol or coconut oil?
Definitely don’t use oil because it can make the shower floor slippery and dangerous! You could try alcohol, or even just a splash of water might be the best thing.
