Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have spent the last month failing at shower steamers. Your video inspired me to make a batch immediately after watching and they turned out perfectly. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. 😊

Love your videos! Just one point: when aromatherapy is used to influence mood, for example, this actually takes place in the brain. Our brains don’t know the difference in whether a scent is essential, synthetic or a mix of both. It simple responds to the way the scent makes you feel. For this purpose, it doesn’t matter if you use an essential or fragrance oil in a shower steamer because the show streamer doesn’t come into much contact with the skin.
This changes when you use a shower steamer as a foot bath of course. Then you have skin contact.
In the case of aromatherapy used on the skin, e.g. face/body oils, then essential oils should be use for their therapeutic effect.

But molecules do enter into the nose and pass through the olfactory nerve from essential oils, so there is a difference in how the body responds to essential oils vs fragrance oils.
Essential oils are made up of different chemicals that have different effects on the body. Inhalation is one of the best ways to absorb the constituents into your blood stream.

I use polysorbate 80 in mine to help the Mica to not stick or stain people's shower or bathtub. It also helps with reducing the base of the tub or shower stall to not become slippery. My question is does the Mica wash away without staining? Does all the essential oils not cause a slippery base in the shower? They look amazing 😍

I agree with you on the essential oils. I’m an Esthetician and have taken advanced aromatherapy courses. For it technically to be aromatherapy and be beneficial it needs to be EO. Not that fragrance oils can’t spark a sense or feeling though but it’s just different. Great video!

I absolutely love this recipe and have been using it for months! They were always long lasting, and very hard, lasting up to 10 minutes in the shower.
In my most recent batch, they didn't last as long in the shower. I timed it and they lasted 4 minutes only with very little water being sprayed on them. With direct water, they dissolve much faster than 4 minutes. I tried lessening my citric acid in the recipe but that did nothing to change the result. It's so strange, as this is the same recipe I've been using all along!
Do you have any idea what could have made them change all of a sudden? Thanks for any advice!! :)

Thank you for making this video and explaining your steps and reasoning.
I’m new and trying to understand what colorant type to use in steamers, most ppl use micas for steamers, why do you use lakes?
Do you need to melt the menthol with alcohol?
Once agin thanks for your help!
