- Wiring your jon boat can seem intimidating but today's episode of Flip My Jon Boat will walk you through the basic layout of how to wire a jon boat. We will start with the battery then work our way through the kill switch, fuse box, switch panel, then out to the accessories like bilge pumps, fish finders, and navigation lights.
This basic diagram will serve as a reference for future wiring videos on Flip My Jon Boat.

Sweet video really helpful for my first time doing wiring.😎
Thank you so much man… I’ve been looking at so so many videos looking for someone to have something like this and I finally found it. That diagram is all I need to finally understand how to wire my boat.
I really appreciate this video. Was talking about doing this myself, and this is heck of a starting point. Great content. Looking forward to more.
Thank you for the support and I’m glad you like it. I wanted to visually explain the basics of what I have and what you should do! Working on wiring now!
Super helpful video. Used it to wire up my 1542.

Thanks for sharing!
Absolute banger! 🔥
Dang you never made another video in the wiring series... :(
I see some people put a fuse after the battery switch before the fuse block. Is it needed ?
Great first step. Any plans for the follow up videos?
Great Video, I'm about to do the same. Is this setup still working out ? And what size wire did you use from the battery to the fuse panel... thanks
It might be a bit late but the wire they recommend is 8AWG
Now does anyone know if i tie in my troller motor or should that be on a separate battery?
Nice video
Yes sir coach, coming out with bangers!!!
Let’s goooo! Thanks Francisco!!!
thanks man
I know you posted this a year ago but I want to be clear. You ran 6 gauge from the battery to your kill switch then 14 gauge from the kill switch to the fuse box and then from there to the switch panel and then to the accessories? Just 6 and 14 gauges were used?
Clean info and video
Thank you for the compliment!
Are you running 6awg wire from the on/off switch to the fuse box? Surely a single 14awg wire cannot support the entire fuse box, or can it?
Can you use a 6 way fuse block with a 6 gang switch panel? I only plan to run nav lights, flood lights and a depth finder/gps.
actually yah i am
Do you need any inline fuses?
It really depends on what you’re wiring. You could run one from the battery to the kill switch if you wanted. If you’re running one straight from a trolling motor to the battery, you should (if it doesn’t come with one). But the fuse box, depending on the amps, should take care of needing to run inline fuses for the most part. DISCLAIMER like in the video, I’m not a licensed electrician! Check with one if you’re feeling uncomfortable and/or need more help.
@@flipmyjonboat4485 I’ll be wiring the same way you did. Battery >kill switch> fuse block > switch panel > accessories
Where is bus bar in picture
Top is a neg block .
You didn't fuse out each device. This makes no sense
He has a fuse panel! They will all be fused
